We loved: that we were able to swap pitches to a level one next door to the one allocated for us (meaing we could put up our awning alongside the campervan, lovely walks adjacent to the campsite. the little book exchange, owls at night, cuckoo and birdsong during the day, toilets were warm and clean and never busy, dishwashing facilities were mostly under cover. We did not love: the long list of rules, the showers were in a different location to the toilets, the uneven ground by the facilities, the overly complex instructions to use the electricity card and that this needed to be returned for unused electricity costs to be reimbursed - but after a 30 minute wait for the owner/manager to open the reception at their stated 9am, no one would answer the phone or came to open the reception, delaying our departure needlessly and finally entering and exiting the campsite involves negotiating a long narrow road with just a few passing places.
We had an amazing weekend at Woodnook; greatly helped by the hot and sunny weather. The campsite had everything we needed and all within a short walk of the tent. On arrival, our first meal was made super easy by the pizza set up they had. The pizzas were delicious. They also did coffee and pastries on a morning.Toilet block and showers were always free and kept nice and clean. We did a lovely walk out the back of the campsite which took us straight out into the hills beyond.Very handy for Grassington itself; we enjoyed a day there; paddling in the river and exploring the town. The owner was very welcoming and friendly too. A bit of noise from another tent was soon stopped after ten o'clock, which we were super happy about.
This is the first time of staying here, what a lovely campsite and would definitely recommend this campsite to others.
It was probably our 3 visit as we love the site with its perfect location for walking. Had a great pitch in the top corner so very quiet. The thing that had changed was the fact we were on a meter and even though we put extra money on the card, as it was cold and wet we obviously used more than we would have on a hot sunny stay and our van ran out of power on the last night so the fridge went off with all our food in the freezer! I always enjoy the fact that the stay is so friendly with the addition of the coffee.cake shop and the fresh pizza.
Friendly welcome, excellent site facilities and an enjoyable stay!
Been here many times before never really changes. They have reg recognition now with a barrier, and the toilets no longer have a code for entry. There’s a card for electric! We had a spot just above the barrier. There seemed a lot of vans permanently sited it wasn’t like that last time we visited. They have pizza on weekends and coffee stall in the mornings at weekend. There’s an onsite dog walk and a walk up the hills behind. We found a short walk over the hill to another caravan site which has a pub on site as the one in Threshfield has closed. Long ashes is the site a 10 minute walk away, and cheaper beer.Grassington is a beautiful Yorkshire town with shops pubs ice cream restaurants the lot. It’s called Daraby in the TV series, All creatures great and small. Loads of walks and beautiful countryside.Certainly return again lovely site and owners
Excellent site with great facilities in a lovely rural location. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.Small camp shop for essentials, plus evening pizzas in the evenings at weekends, plus morning coffees etc., elevates this site well above others
A beautiful camping and caravan site … great facilities- spotless Added bonus of homemade pizzas on a Friday and Saturday night and fresh baked pastries and coffee in the morning The owners and staff are all so friendly I will definitely be back
