There is a warm Dales welcome waiting for you at Studfold caravan, camping and glamping park. Whether you’re a family with children, couple, or sole adventurer, you’ll love the Nidderdale Experience. There’s so much to enjoy, and wonderful surroundings to relax in.
We have 38 extra large, flat, well-drained grass pitches for tents, caravans, camper vans and motorhomes, 26 with electric hook-up. And we have four locally made, exciting glamping pods, situated at the edge of the field, each able to sleep a family of four (two adults and two children), or a maximum of three adults. The pitches and glamping pods are organised for maximum space and comfort for all, and are very near to the large, level play area for children, perfect for ball games and running around. There is also access to the beck trickling alongside the campsite where children love to play and build dams. Fun for the little ones too, but they will need an adult with them.
Our outstanding facilities include electric hook ups, sparkling-clean toilet and shower block, as well as undercover cooking and socialising shelter (invaluable in wet weather), fire pits and WIFI vouchers. We also have the wonderful Nidderdale Way Cafe run by Julia, where you can enjoy an easy, delicious breakfast, as well as homemade snacks and treats throughout the day (weekends and local school holidays only).
What sets Studfold apart from other sites is that there is so much to do, on and off the site. Our famous Adventure Trail, renowned for its fairies and celebration of all things nature is part of Studfold, and is a fantastic family attraction, right on your caravan, tent or pod doorstep! If you book the Trail online as part of your stay you will get 2 days of entry for the price of 1 (dependent on the Trail being open).
The Lost Earth Adventures activities are also readily available. And there are many beautiful walks, of all ability levels, starting from Studfold. You’ll find an amazing Yorkshire Dales base at Studfold for exploring Nidderdale and North Yorkshire.
The pods have lighting, electric points and are fully insulated. Suitable for up to 2 adults and 2 children.
The increasingly popular, warm, dry and deceptively large camping pods have arrived at Studfold. Situated in the Caravan and Camping Park the Studfold Pods promise to offer a whole new experience.
The pod has lighting and is fully insulated. Inside there are two bed bases that can be used as singles or fastened together to for a double, with plenty of carpeted floor space for a further two mattresses (please note that you will need to supply your own inflatable mattresses and bedding). A kettle is provided along with a small table and two electric sockets. Outside there is plenty of room for parking, a picnic bench, a fire pit and breath-taking views. When staying in one of our Pods you have complete access to our camping facilities which include -Washing machine, Freezer for Iceblocks, Wifi, Family room and Baby change.
Please note: There isn't any mobile phone reception or ariel TV reception on site, however, internet service can be accessed by purchasing a WiFi voucher from reception.
No pets allowed in Pods 1, 3 and 4.
Pod 2 is a dog friendly pod, without bed bases. It has the same facilities as the other pods but no bed bases. Visitors can bring 1 clean and well-behaved dog. The dog must not be left in or around the pod on its own, it must be kept on a lead and walked off the Park. This pod also has an outdoor ‘dog pod’ kennel.
Suitable for up to 2 adults and 2 children.
Guests should leave the pods as they find them.

All pitches are grass, flat and well drained. Electric hook ups are available. Dogs are also welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
The park consists of two acres of flat grassland with easy access and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. All pitches are grass, flat, well drained and extra large. Electric hook ups are available but appliances should be specifically designed for caravanning or camping. The pitch fees include showers, deep sinks and hair dryers in the ladies' facilities.
There is plenty of space for touring caravans, tents and motorhomes and we are particularly keen to welcome families. Dogs are also welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times and walked off the site.

Wonderful location, lovely large level pitches and immaculate toilets and showers and washing up area. Sadly the cafe was closed but hopefully will be open when we next visit. We did visit the How Stean cafe which was good. We know the area very well from running and cycling there for many years so we can recommend walking on Dale Edge up to Scar House reservoir and the green lane from Middlesmoor. Had a nice meal at the Crown Hotel in Lofthouse which is rather quirky and has been for decades! but food and beer are good and the service friendly. We can thoroughly recommend a stay at Studfold and look forward to our next visit. Thank you.
Lovely site, and facilities were good. The only issue we had was no WiFi, which was expensive to purchase from the shop. I feel that should be included in the overall price.
This was our very first camping trip so really needed something that was easy to book, find, and set up. Studfold met all these requirements. I’d emailed before had to check the arrival details and had a very quick response, as well as an additional email that was sent to alert us to road closure signs that we may pass on the way to the site.On arrival, our pitch was easy to find, we had a query with the electrics (I feel this was our user error/ new equipment issue not a site issue, however when we rang for advice, Ian was incredibly helpful)We have a 5man tent and there was plenty of space had our tent been largerFacilities were excellent-clean toilets & showers, level ground for pitching & lots of space. Shop had the basics & well needed ice creams. The cafe was closed but how stean gorge cafe openWe did notice the tent & caravan behind us to be a group & noise was louder than we would have liked. We will look at pitches with less neighbouring plots/ not near the gate in f
Great facilities, lovely location with spectacular walks straight from the campsite. Only downside was lack of mobile service and need to buy WiFi vouchers from Reception which wasn’t open when we needed it
We absolutely loved our camping trip to Studfold over the Easter Weekend. The staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us all. The fairy trail was brilliant and so well designed. We will definitely return!
Camping with a 4 year old isn't always easy, but Studfold makes it a lot easier. The facilities are all child friendly including stools in the bathrooms and plenty of playing area. The food in the on-site restaurant was good and fairly priced as was the site shop. My only criticism would be that given the location, WiFi connectivity should be provided in the price (even if the price increased slightly) and a chargeable premium option could be offered for a fee.
The site is flat & well drained (even after several days of torrential rain). Toilet & shower facilities are good, clean & well kept in general, although not the warmest & prone to the lighting not coming on early enough at dusk resulting in the occasional shower in the dark! The WiFi is an optional extra & charged on a per Gigabit usage & limited to two devices connected at one time, which seems strange given it is a metered service. Furthermore changing over to a third device (still only two connected at the same time though) meant a 30 minute wait between the disconnection of one device & the allowed connection of the alternative device. The final word on the WiFi is that there is no apparent way of measuring the remaining data on your allocated allowance. Finally the drinking water is according to local signage above recommended for fluorine levels, which while safe to most may mean for people with kidney issues like my wife buying your own water from off site supermarkets.
Been here several times now and it's a firm favourite, really well run and great location for adventures with the kids
Love the area where this site is. Cafe & shop on site lovely scenery & plenty of walks or ideal for cycling right up to ScarHouse reservoir. Will definitely go again.
