Studfold Caravan & Camping Park

4.7 (85 reviews)

Unforgettable holidays are made at award-winning Studfold in the Yorkshire Dales. This is camping, glamping and caravanning at its best. Nestled in the emerald-green patchwork of the Yorkshire Dales near Pateley Bridge, you’ll enjoy breath-taking views, fantastic amenities and the freedom to relax with extra-wide pitches. There’s a warm, good old-fashioned Yorkshire welcome too.

There is a warm Dales welcome waiting for you at Studfold caravan, camping and glamping park. Whether you’re a family with children, couple, or sole adventurer, you’ll love the Nidderdale Experience. There’s so much to enjoy, and wonderful surroundings to relax in.

We have 38 extra large, flat, well-drained grass pitches for tents, caravans, camper vans and motorhomes, 26 with electric hook-up. And we have four locally made, exciting glamping pods, situated at the edge of the field, each able to sleep a family of four (two adults and two children), or a maximum of three adults. The pitches and glamping pods are organised for maximum space and comfort for all, and are very near to the large, level play area for children, perfect for ball games and running around. There is also access to the beck trickling alongside the campsite where children love to play and build dams. Fun for the little ones too, but they will need an adult with them.

Our outstanding facilities include electric hook ups, sparkling-clean toilet and shower block, as well as undercover cooking and socialising shelter (invaluable in wet weather), fire pits and WIFI vouchers. We also have the wonderful Nidderdale Way Cafe run by Julia, where you can enjoy an easy, delicious breakfast, as well as homemade snacks and treats throughout the day (weekends and local school holidays only).

What sets Studfold apart from other sites is that there is so much to do, on and off the site. Our famous Adventure Trail, renowned for its fairies and celebration of all things nature is part of Studfold, and is a fantastic family attraction, right on your caravan, tent or pod doorstep! If you book the Trail online as part of your stay you will get 2 days of entry for the price of 1 (dependent on the Trail being open).

The Lost Earth Adventures activities are also readily available. And there are many beautiful walks, of all ability levels, starting from Studfold. You’ll find an amazing Yorkshire Dales base at Studfold for exploring Nidderdale and North Yorkshire.

Best camping site we have been on for its peacefulness great scenery immaculate shower block. Cheapest too. We loved it because we went in termtime mid week no kids and 3 tents on our site. Weather was fab which helps. Only spoke to a lovely lady who was cleaning the shower block very friendly. We will definitely be back same time next year if not before. Thanks studfold truly a hidden gem

Thank you for a lovely stay. The site is perfect for families with areas children can play safely. We had a lovely time at the fairy trail and enjoyed a picnic delivered from the cafe. Camping pitches are large and toilet/wash facilities are clean and well equipped. This is our second time at the site and we will definitely be back!

Great site

Rowe, Mark - 11/07/2024

We stayed on the site Thursday to Sunday in early July and with the exception of Saturday night, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was a great site, with good, clean facilities. It is dog friendly and there is a number of walks in the immediate vicinity. There is also a pub within walking distance. I really cant fault the site and if I ever plan to go back to that area again I would definitely consider staying again.

Excellent site

I’ve stayed at Studfold going back over 25 years when my children were little and it only gets better and better the toilet shower block and washing area is excellent everywhere clean and tidy around the site so that’s a credit to the owners and the people who visit to camp . The location is very good for walking in any direction up towards the reservoir and further also two public houses both serving food children and animal friendly. You can always drive out further or relax on the site even make your way down the gorge then visit the cafe . For me it’s great value for money and if you need the staff friendliness is assured

Our first visit and we will definitely return to the dog pod. The facilities were the cleanest we have seen. Lovely flat site and stunning views. The local pub was great and very friendly bar staff and lots of lovely walks nearby. We didn’t sample the onsite cafe this time but hopefully we will get the chance on our next visit. Thank you

Lovely site and location

Llewhellin, David - 09/07/2024

5

Lovely site with excellent clean facilities, good sized pitches and stunning views. Great location with variety of walks from the site including the Nidderdale Way and How Stean Gorge only minutes away. We stayed for 3 nights during the week in term time so was very quiet but imagine this site gets very busy on weekends and school holidays. Definitely a site we will return to.

Response from the owner

09 July 2024

Thank you for leaving a review. In response we do warn visitors that reception may well be closed during quiet midweek term time dates, this is the first paragraph on our information sheet that is sent as a pdf with your booking email and that you are expected to read as part of the T & C’s of staying at Studfold. We also put a notice board outside reception with contact details on it and would have arranged to meet you at reception if you had made contact.I am sorry you feel this spoilt your stay but the alternative of manning reception from 9 until 5 during quiet times is not financially viable for a small family run business.
