Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

Whether you are young or old, a couple wanting a quiet break or a family holiday, this site has everything you could need or want. It is beautifully set out. It has spotless well maintained and high quality facilities including a bath which is so useful to young families. A well maintained laundry. The small cafe does an excellent quality breakfast and lunch. The children’s play area and field to play ball games are equally great. I actually walked past a couple of lads, 10 to 12 years, actually begging their parents to stay longer. The site is also dog friendly. It is a site we will return to often because on top of everything else it is ideally situated to explore the wonderful county of Yorkshire.
We were running late to get to site and the lady in duty waited for us to arrive which was brilliant. The facilities were very good and clean. We enjoyed a brekky in the cafe too and the staff there were also great. Will definitely go back and have also passed this place in to others already.
Spotlessly clean facilities. Extremely well kept park. Lovely cafe, park, scenery, people. Our 10 year old always makes lots of friends on the park and never wants to come home. Quiet and relaxing area, short drive to loads of great places, Thornton le Dale, Whitby, Scarborough, Dalby Forest are our favourites.
This is our second stay at the Vale of Pickering and I would highly recommend. The site is immaculate and the facilities are of a very high standard. The onside shop has all your needs covered and the cafe is a welcome addition should you fancy a proper breakfast without the hassle if cooking yourself. The staff on site are all very welcoming and very attentive. My husband had enquired at the cafe about poached eggs and the lady said its not something they normally do but she would do them for him the following morning, he went in and she set straight too, perfect is the word he used to describe them. Little things like that make this site stand out from the rest, absolutely awesome staff 👏.To sum the Vale of Pickering up for us is it's a gem in a beautiful part of the country. We will definitely be back again as we love it here 😍
Amazingly well kept park. Toilet block and showers are very modern and immaculate. Staff were very friendly. On our arrival a mobile fish and chip van had just arrived also which was very novel to make our dinner decision very easy. Cafe on site too. Lots of space with ball park and dog walking route. Overall we were very impressed indeed. Only small tiny gripe would be the motorhome service point drain was quite small making it difficult to maneuver our drain point over the top of it.
It was our first ever time camping and so glad we picked vale of Pickering. Pulled into the site and couldn’t believe how nice it looked, all the facilities were spotless and so well maintained. The kids loved the park and plenty of green for the dog aswell. The cafe was great and the food was lovely, all the staff and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Booked again for next year whilst we was on site 🙂
This was our first visit to this site and was not disappointed. The lady on reception was very welcoming and explained everything to us about facilities, cafe, fish and chip van that comes to the site once a week. She also explained about the electric hook up as it is only 10 amp and too many items on at once can trip the electric, which was good to know. The site is set in lovely countryside so was very quiet, which is what we like. The shower/toilet facilities were amazing, very modern and clean and always nice and warm, one slight negative was I found the shower very powerful, as the shower heads are very small so the first time I used them it was quite a shock. We would definitely use this site again as it’s in one of our favourite parts of Yorkshire.
Immaculate quiet site with great facilities. Would definetely consider visiting again
Super clean facilities Friendly staff Great Pizza at a good price
When we arrived first impressions was wow looks awesome. We then signed in to reception and got a great welcome from the guy that booked us in and told us where to park our caravan and after setting up we had a walk round to look at the facilities and the were better than the pictures we saw and would recommend this site especially dog owners
