This was my second stay in the shepherd's hut, and just as good as the first! The owners are fantastic hosts and have thought about every detail; it's a wonderful place to stay. We walked from the campsite to Castle Howard this time, and along the river to the Royal Oak in Old Malton for a lovely meal; great South African food which I'd definitely recommend. Thank you!

We love this site, always spotless and well kept. Offers all the facilities needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay, feels like home from home.We felt very welcome and our request to be near facilities because of my husbands disability,was listened to and actioned. Ruth was very accommodating when we asked to wash our caravan on site. Love the wildlife around that area and the farm chickens visited daily, which was lovely to see.All in all a lovely stay and cannot wait to go back.

We enjoyed the short circular walk down to the River Derwent and back past Ruth’s attractive flower patch from the site.

Such a lovely place to stay. We initially stayed 1 night, then returned for a further 3 nights a day or so later. Very well kept areas & shower/toilet block was immaculate. Fresh eggs for sale daily & chickens roaming freely. Owner Ruth, was very friendly & helpful with knowledge of the local area. Thank you for a peaceful stay, we'll be back!!

We had a lovely time at Wyse House, our host was incredibly welcoming and friendly, the facilities were excellent and the accommodation was fantastic.

We were looking for a child friendly, quiet campsite in a good location between the coast & York & weren't disappointed. This site has a good little playground, clean toilets & showers & friendly chickens. The kitchen is well equipped with washing up liquid & sponges, a fridge/freezer & a little basket of emergency tea bags & other bits & bobs. We were very lucky to have great weather & enjoyed a couple of early evening walks around the edge of the farm with our young boys. They preferred this site to he busier site we stopped at afterwards!

Lovely site and the area is very good too

A lovely small campsite in walking distance of a pub for tea. Clean, modern and friendly, they had thought of all the little things, like toys in the kitchen for the kids whilst you're washing up, a walk to do around the farm. Lots of trees for shade and privacy a fantastic find. Only point for improvement would be a tiny bin in the kitchen just to clean out the plug hole after use etc rather than having to go round to the dumpsters.
