This is a great quiet site and has good facilities, recently adding 2 new shower/toilet units. It is down a long lane but that's never been an issue so that can be dismissed.The site has an ANPR gate so extra added safety there when you arrive and leave, no key fobs to muck around with. The 'vans are parked around a perimeter, with a very well maintained central area.Each pitch is spacious with plenty of room for a full awning and car parking, plus there is a picnic table on each pitch which is a nice feature. The pitch is clean and tidy, short well maintained grass & private hedging around you.Electric is 10A so be wary not to trip the power bollard, which comes as a pre-paid amount via a meter card, usually enough for most stays and can be topped up as needed, refunding any balance when you leave.Its a 'green' waste only and they do offer a very reasonably priced chemical to use in case you have brought the 'blue stuff'.Would be happy to recommend this site to a

We have stayed at Westgate Carr on a number of occasions and cannot find enough positive words to describe it. Karen and Dave are friendly and welcoming, making our stay even better. The site is immaculate and all pitches are spacious and well served, the dog walk is superb, safe and secure. We would highly recommend a stay, excellent facilities. No other site comes close to this one. Thank you for a fabulous weekend, always feel chilled and relaxed on site.

The Cottage was immaculate again, can't fault it at all. Karen and Dave had made sure everything was hunky dory for us, and we do appreciate there dedication to Clear View cottage. The weather was poor after the recent heat wave, but dodging the showers was our plan for the entire stay. The cottage iss very cosy and comfortable with everything a couple or indeed a family would need for a worry free vacation. Its really close to the Station for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and the main street for the shops. There's a decent bus service to Malton, Whitby and Scarborough if you fancy a trip out. We also drove to Malton and caught the train for a day out in York. Its also a great base for looking around the North York National Park.

If you are looking for a idilic quiet location with lots of wildlife, Westgate Carr is ideal. Pickering is ok for a meal, bakery or coop stop. Moreover, it’s centrally located for a trip to the moors or the coast. Facilities are spotless with the hotel standard showers. Already booked our return.

This is our 3rd visit and definitely not our last.This site feels completely remote and away from civilisation. Other guests are respectful of the site rules ensuring you experience nothing but peace and quiet. The amenities block is spotless night and day. Hot water, pristine toilets, groovy music playing whilst you freshen up. The welcome is so friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

This area of Yorkshire is by far the best from any other experiences we have throughout the Uk. Absolutely very best of experiences throughout the uk.

Lovely well maintained site with spotless facilities. Large private pitches with the added bonus of picnic tables. Look forward to returning. Excellent caravan service provided by Josh.

Friendly introduction on arrival and all of site was carefully talked through with supporting map and paperwork.Grounds are perfectly manicured, hedging between pitches for privacy.Would have liked the washing up water a little on the hotter side as it was difficult clearing up after bbq, had to take our kettle to the sink. This was our only negative so not so bad really.Nature is top of the list for this site, if you go for a walk and take time to look there are so many things to spot.Great site, please do go.Long walk to bus stop so we took a cab into Pickering and cost was good at £7.50 each way.Electric is metered and you have to pre pay but on checking out any credit is put back on card and returned to your card you used for booking, our credit was paid within three days of departure, great job.
