Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.

Such a spacious and well kept site. The shower block etc, was the best we have ever seen. Thank you
Great cafe with lovely food including freshly made pizza.Convenient for visiting local attractions. Scarborough Whitby Filey the wolds and moors.
We had a really good week at Vale of Pickering site. The weather for November was great. We were greeted very warmly and our request for a very quiet pitch was met. The facilities here are excellent. Very modern and spotlessly clean. Our only gripe is the size of the pitches. We didn't put an awning up this time but if we had then space for the car is very limited and has to go in front of the caravan. Not ideal when you have no view out of your caravan except the view of your car. Overall a lovely site that over tbe many years since the site opened we have visited. Yes we will return for another visit
This was our second trip to the Vale of Pickering, it is family friendly but we tend to go out of season and again we found the site to friendly with super clean facilities, the pitch was big enough for your caravan and car along side, we love the fact that the site is handy for not only a trip to the moors or the coast, the site has a large playing feild with a dog walk around the outside of it, with plenty of bins around site for their waste and even a dog wash.
What a beautiful campsite .We thought it was very tidy ,immaculate and very friendly .1st impression was how lovely it was .Breakfast in cafe was amazing Will definately come back .
This is a lovely site we come here a couple of times a year its clean well looked after the staff are so friendly and helpful the pitches are very large and spacious I would highly recommend the vale of pickering to anyone looking for a 5* site thank you
The site was lovely with perfectly clean and well kept facilities a wonderful cafe and shop. Would recommend and am definitely coming back.
We booked to visit Vale of Pickering for a second time as a last minute stop off on our way home from Scarborough. As always clean facilities, lovely staff and an immaculate site. We also tried the pizza this time around and it was delicious. We can’t wait for our next visit! Thank you.
We always enjoy our stay with Diane and the team, Exceptionally clean site and very friendly staff.
Fantastic site. Great facilities and friendly helpful staff. Pitch sizes are very generous. We’ve have chosen to stay here for all our holidays this year, and will mostly likely do the same for 2026.
