Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

Really enjoyed our stay of 9 nights. The site is spotless and staff very friendly. There is a good amount of washroom and laundry facilities etc. The on site cafe was also lovely. It's a great location and central for all of the places we visited. We will be back as the site is now one of our favourites.
Ideal location for visiting the moors, Whitby, Scarborough and surrounding villages. Can catch the steam train from Pickering to Whitby via Goathland. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The facilities are modern and immaculate. Very quiet location with a large dog walking field. Overall I found the site good value for money.
5 star site, great location for the coast and North Yorkshire The staff are always so friendly polite and cannot do enough for youThe showers and toilet blocks are always spotless ( big showers btw)Small shop and cafe on site with pizza night and fish & chip van on certain nightsVery safeIn a lovely village with a great pub with good beers, great food ( reasonable prices too)Wish the ehu was more than 10A, but as long as we don’t use the microwave and kettle together it’s fineLove this place!
Thank you for your review. It is always a pleasure to welcome you to The Vale of Pickering.
Stayed before and just love it. So clean and tidy. Very peaceful. Great location to get out and about Good pitches and okay park Toilets are immaculate
Thank you for your review Louise it was lovely to welcome you back to The Vale of Pickering.
This site is a rare find. It's hard to put your finger on why but everything about this site feels right. In the center of the Vale of Pickering and surrounded by beautiful views, it's well laid out clean and tidy, staff were friendly and welcoming. It has a great cafe on site, modern and safe play area and a separate field with loads of space for kids to play and dogs to be walked. Our new favourite site.
Good Morning JeffThank you for your lovely review. Your review will be shared with all The VOP team. We hope to welcome you back again soon.
Overall our stay was very good the site is nicely situated in a countryside location as part of a working farm it’s easy to find from any direction and accessibility is good, local restaurants and pubs are a short car drive away the site’s staff are very friendly the pitches are good all amenities were clean and tidy A slight negative I have is the 10 amp electric supply which has to be managed or you get tripping But the biggest negative is the push button showers I tried them all in the male block and the time per push varied from 5 seconds to a maximum of 10 seconds I understand the need for them but you should get at least one minute to enjoy a decent shower experience
We have stayed at vale of Pickering before it’s a great site to stayVery clean facilities and the on site restaurant is great as well as a very well stocked camp shop
