Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

We come here every year, lovely site, requested to stay on the hedgerow and we’re accommodated at last minute. Showers clean as always. Good base for days out in the area, Whitby, Castle Howard this time for us. Will be returning for sure. Shop, cafe on sight, although we didn’t use these facilities . Children’s play area has been updated, missed the old tractor though.
Extremely clean and friendly siteExcellent location for surrounding attractions
Another lovely stay at Vale of Pickering. New play area for the children is wonderful. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the cafe (good for gluten free). The facilities spotless and staff so helpful in the office. Although a bank holiday weekend and site full it was still relaxing and not too noisy. Great for the dog too. We enjoyed a lovely visit to Scampston Walled garden and beautiful cafe.
On arrival we were given a warm welcome and a quick oversight of the facilities. The pitch we were on was ideal, plenty of room and didn't feel overcrowded. The green at the back helped with this although a lot of people could not read the sign that said "No ball games". The facilities were spotless and never had a problem getting a shower. The site shop was lovely
First time visiting this site. Very easy access onto level pitches. Staff very friendly without trying to enforce many rules and regulations as happens on some other sites. Facilities well thought out and spotless.Although the large grass pitches without electricity were spacious and level cannot understand why they are the same price as hard standing with electricity. We had to book a grass pitch which would have been fine but were upgraded onto a hard standing because of a cancellation which was good.
We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely clean facilities and Very Family Oriented.
