Fabulous stay with a wheel chair user. A ramp to enter the cottage was provided with enough room to move around inside the cottage. We had a fabulous meal at the coach and hoses across the road, enjoyed a trip to Whitby on the steam train and I walked the chimney bank. Perfect location for flamingo land too. Great setting to escape city life! A cottage with a wet room with grab rails would be ideal in the future.
We have stayed here many many times over the years The cottage is great and the village is great and the surroundings are great But..This is starting to annoy me as it’s the same every time we stay It’s not clean!!Hairs in the shower Soap stains on the sink Pots and pans not clean Small things but always the same Tea bags.. only enough for two days There always used to be milk in the fridge on arrivalNo more I know prices have gone up but so have the prices to stay… a lot!! And the 4pm check in I find a little too late as wellFriends of ours stayed in the same cottage ( hayloft) recently and said exactly the same as we did That been said we are looking at dates for next year and will stay again Theses things keep at being a good stay instead of an excellent stay!
Dear Mark,1. The cottages are clean, and we get continuous reviews rating 5star for cleanliness.2. The tea bags are intended to be a welcome gesture - we do not claim to supply you with tea and coffee for the duration of your stay!3. We haven't left complimentary milk in the cottages for over 4 years - which you will know, as you have stayed every year since then.4. Prices have gone up, yes, this is due to the well publicised rise in the cost of heating, electric, laundry and general cost of living.5. You paid £222.00 for three nights, in a two bedroom cottage, with heating, towels, bed linen, fully kitted out kitchen/bathroom etc. This is the best value in the entire area. Other examples of similar cottages in the area for the same date: £414.00, £459.00, £525.00.
Nice peaceful site and the staff are always very helpful, we will certainly be back and will recommend to all our friends and family.
Staff were lovely, great location, lovely village with tea rooms and pubs, plenty of walks in the area and places to visit.Extremely narrow pitches on clay with minimal stones. The weather was wet so we had a lot of mud on the pitch. The toilets/showers were not cleaned everyday and there was a lot of mud. Elsan point, laundry and wash up were not cleaned at all during our 4 day stay. But people who stayed there on a regular basis told us that during the season when the wardens were on site it was spotless. So we will visit again during the season.
The site continues to provide first class facilities in an area of outstanding natural beauty which we first had the privilege to meet over 50 years ago with our beloved parents .
Good site well maintained excrllent and very clean toilet blocks. However some of the hard standing could do with being slightly wider and continue to the road to save you walking in mud at the start and end of season.
The problem we had was the lack of signal and the wifi was pretty bad it kept failing and the wifi calling was no good
Staff were very friendly & helpful. Ramp for wheelchair had already been situated before we arrived. The cottage was warm & welcoming. Excellent accommodation very clean & modern. Local pub was great & the tea rooms were brilliant
Very clean and a nice place to be
