Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

Excellent campsite ,well kept ,friendly and space between vans
Great place. Excellent facilities very friendly staff. Very clean great for dog walkers
Vale of Pickering is a delightful site. We spent New year on the site both last year and this. It's clean and well managed, nicely laid out with good sized pitches. There a playground for the children and it's great to hear them enjoying themselves. The staff on the site are pleasant, friendly and very helpful. It's a beautiful area with plenty of options to visit, Pickering, Malton, Scarborough and Filey are just a few towns nearby. We enjoyed our time there very much and, no doubt, will return.
Excellent caravan site. Enjoyed a short stay btween Christmas and New Year 2024.
We really enjoyed our couple of nights in our MH over New Year. We had a nice wide end pitch (92), not far from the amenities block which is always good when the weather is not so good.Quick & easy check-in, nice level pitch & easy EHU, all comfy in no time at all. We really liked the layout & facilities of the amenities block, very clean, warm & well maintained. Unfortunately the cafe was closed for the winter season, it does look a nice place though. The waste disposal facilities including the recycling compound where the best & tidiest we have used in recent months. We never ventured far but we did have a walk to the local pub The Cayley Arm’s in the village, a lovely warm country inn. We only had a couple of drinks as it was New Years Eve & it was filling up with guests with reservations.Looking forward to a return visit to the site in the warmer months with our bike so we can see more of the area.
We stayed over the New Year period and we enjoyed our stay. The night before we come home my husband went and had a shower and left his towel on the radiator to dry off, he went back the morning after and someone had taken it. We asked at reception as my husband thought maybe the cleaner had handed it in, we when we was leaving we asked and it wasn't there. I was a little disappointed that someone would take a towel to be honest.
Recently stayed 6 nights over the New Year first time ever at this time of year in our caravan but will definitely do again had a wonderful time facilities amazing as always overall a great break.
Cannot fault the site. Always clean and well maintained. A warm welcome and facilities excellent.
Fantastic site with great facilities ( although the water in the shower would benefit from being hotter).Everything is kept clean, the reception staff extremely welcoming Beautifully lit up with Christmas decorations
A very relaxing break in lovely surroundings. A lovely site with facilities/amenities among the best we've ever used. We'll be back soon hopefully.
