Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

Hi visited last week in a campervan for 3 nights, what a excellent site? Facilities very clean , staff very friendly and ideally located. Will be going back for a longer stay in the caravan soon A+++Jason
We returned after numerous visits and, as always, enjoyed every aspect most especially the staff who are invariably first class.
This site is one of the nicest we have stayed at. The pitches are a good size and clean and tidy facilities that are kept like new. Great cafe on site and a breakfast is definitely recommended. Weather for us was hit and miss but you are near enough to Cayton Bay and Scarborough for a short drive out. The staff were really nice and thanks so much for allowing us to leave the caravan on site on the last day and allowing us to have an extended holiday. We are hoping to return next year many thanks.
Great campsite, only recommendation is to have more electrical hookups in the big field
All love to visit this place have been lots of times unfortunately on are last visit my wife had a bad fall and injury a lag and it her face on the gravel the steps slipped a way from the caravan the gravel is quite big im not blaming the site just letting people know to be careful on the gravel 🫵👍
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Vale of Pickering, the site is beautifully kept, the facilities are always immaculate and the receptionists are always very nice and accommodating, the weather also made out week even better will definitely be booking for next year.
What a lovely site, so smart, clean and well laid out. Toilet block is so modern and showers are excellent. To top the lot there is a cafe on site for breakfast also other snacks and drinks.
Fantastic facilities, great pitch with loads of room, clean, friendly and ideal location
A very clean well looked after site. Facilities immaculate with friendly helpful staff. I will definitely return. Well situated for lots of activities and site seeing ie coast, moors and quaint villages. 10 out of 10.
It’s over 5 years since I visited this site as my children grew up. Returned in motor home to find the site to be still as awesome as it ever was. The small coffee shop is a great add on and the right size without being too much. The whole site is immaculate and the facilities are 5 star. We had a glorious weekend and would highly recommend this site to anyone who needs a base to explore North/east Yorkshire.
