The managers Abbie and Adam were very helpful and welcoming ,great hosts . the facilities were clean and well maintained and the site was well kept
Great place, wonderful scenery, really good modern clean facilities, pub was modern and staff were very helpful and attentive. There was also a race night on when we went we didn't go to this, but good that so many events are on, we would definitely go back.
We stayed here camping to go out to various spots in the Peak District. We had a really nice stay. All staff were really helpful and very welcoming. Nothing was to much trouble. We would come back and stay again. Many thanks
Fantastic place to stay for my daughter's 12th birthday with friends. The bell tent was spotless and spacious. The couple running the site were very friendly and helpful. Despite a storm overnight and strong winds throughout, the bell tent felt really secure. Great that it's on the raised wooden platform. Clean facilities and plenty of hot water. Great to be next to the pub and playground. Also lovely walk down a track into Monyash with a good pub and playground. You do get some traffic noise from the main road and it's quite exposed to the extremes of the weather as it's high up, but that also means there are fantastic views.
We stayed at The Bull I’ th’ Thorn for 2 nights in March in our camper van with our dog. The campsite was easy to find just off the main road behind the pub. It was fairly quiet so only the facilities outside the pub were open which didn’t bother us as it was only a short walk away. We really enjoyed our stay and ate in the pub one night, the food and atmosphere were great and the staff were very friendly. It was our mistake as we didn’t follow the check-in instructions and parked on the grass, after 2 nights of heavy rain we got stuck, luckily very helpful campers and staff were on hand to help us out which we are very grateful for! We will definitely return to this site, lots of walks nearby and close to a lovely village called Monyash which has a great cafe.
Great site, lovely location, fab price. EHU, good pitch sizes. Lovely, friendly, helpful hosts. Thanks!
Fabulous site in a great location. Lovely friendly owners and great facilities, highly recommended! 😀
Very friendly members of staff in site and in pub Clean toilets and showers Beautiful walks
A fairly good small site, great having the pub so close to your pitch! Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough to help. Lack of hardstanding in winter is a problem and would need to be in place to return. It meant we were all squeezed around the edge. I think given the size of pitches it wouldn't be for us in the summer as we like a bit more space around pitches. In winter the toilets and water are a bit of a trek, and you can hear road noise from the site. Lovely access to footpaths and the pub serves great food and a great atmosphere.
The Bull i' th' Thorn campsite is ideally located for the Tissington & High Peak Trail, plus loads of other great walks are accessible directly from the camp site. We arrived in a campervan, after a recent spell of cold and wet late February weather the staff made us very welcome and advised on the best camping spot to avoid getting stuck. Good choice of food in a wonderfully warm pub. Although not far from the road the traffic noise was not overly intrusive. Will come again.
