Our 4th time camping at The Royal Oak and we will definitely be booking for next year.Fantastic facilities, extremely clean showers and the food is just amazing 🤩 We have raved on about this place so much that our family and friends now camp/eat there x
Excellent. First time I have used the campsite, whole experience was superb as I have come to experience with the Royal Oak hospitality for evening meals and a good beer.
We loved staying at the Royal Oak in our campervan. The pub staff are lovely and the food was great, we loved the little nook where we could plan our days out.The campsite backs onto the Tissington Trail which was a brilliant day out on our bikes, we easily got as far as Ashbourne for lunch. The campsite facilities are good and were regularly cleaned, small and friendly site.
Quiet, clean with all the necessary amenities. The pub did good local beers, didn’t get to try the food. All set in a lovely location.
We aren’t regular campers but I would 100% recommend this campsite to friends, the pub is lovely and can’t fault the facilities either. Our sat nav took us up a horrible single track hill though would probably not go that way if you don’t live in a hilly area because it was very stressful. Overall a great stay :)
We stayed at the Royal Oak campsite on the 'Peak Potter' bikepacking route, it was perfect to camp on the route and have dinner in the pub after a tough day in the saddle!
The campsite and facilities are very good. Toilets and showers always seem to be clean and the campsite is very well kept. However, we felt the pub was very expensive.
Lovely campsite in a great location. Facilities are of a good standard and the staff are brilliant. If you stay make sure you visit the pub for great food and beer.
Hard to fault, the pitches are generous, the staff incredibly helpful & friendly, location is spot on for some classic Peak District dales walking, the pub serves great food. Everything was excellent for our 4 nights .. even the rain didn’t put a spoiler on things. Will definitely be going back.
Little campsite with space for the kids to play freely. Not busy so no dangers. Very relaxed, next to plenty of trails and nice walks. The Royal Oak food was amazing!! The toilets and showers were clean and tidy, they even had a sink for you to wash pots. Very pleasant experience for our first time camping. also only a short drive away from bakewell!
