We enjoyed our stay and it was a good location for us to explore the local towns of Buxton and Bakewell. I loved going over to say hello to the animals everyday and we loved the milkshake machine. The facilities were really good, it was a shame some of the local pubs had closed down as we had to travel further when going out for a meal.
This was our second visit to Pomeroy. It is a well laid out site for caravans, campers and tents, with excellent facilities and easy access to the High Peak Trail, along which is the Royal Oak pub - very good meals and dog friendly.Check in was easy and there is a little shop that sells ice-cream made on the farm. The dog field is a very good size so there is room to play ball and for dogs to actually exercise. Can highly recommend
As always a lovely few nights at Pomeroy. We return year after year due to its convenient location and delicious ice cream.Only issue I would say from this years stay was the Duke of Edinburgh kids made the washing facilities filthy. I saw them washing their walking boots in sinks and generally being silly in the shower areas throwing things around. The toilets were dirty in comparison to previous visits too.
Yep it's had to be done! Both motorbikes packed up and went camping 😆 booked for 2 nights but stayed for 3. Pomeroy farm is absolutely amazing throughout. Staff are very polite n helpful. Toilet/shower block, very clean, lovely n warm. The shop had lovely little bits n bobs, ample for what u need camping! Not to mention the ice cream 😋 milk machine was very handy and omg iv never tasted milk like that before. Sooooo fresh n ice cold. The animals, what can I say lol. Very funny n friendly. Me n partner had a private goat tour 🥰 now it's made me want to own some goats lol...The views are out of this world and seeing the cows entering the field first thing in a morning, watching them throughout the day until they go home. Has been a funny experience to watch. If anyones in 2 minds to camp! Well don't be, get ya things packed up, head to Pomeroy and u sure will have an amazing time.Me and my partner will be back again, but bringing extra family members 😁 ITS A MUST
Simple things. Showers don’t stay on long enough. Facilities block too clinical. Needs a few pictures and plants. Pitches just tidied up and edged more. Small things which wouldn’t cost much
Great campsite, great facilities, great location and awesome ice cream
Since first staying with you last year, we decided it would be an annual holiday and this year didn't disappoint! The facilities as always were immaculate, and everything I needed that I had forgotten to pack I could find in the shop. The farm, which was brilliant before, is so much bigger now and the children loved seeing the animals in the morning and again before going to bed. We look forward to returning next year with my sister and our brother in law for year 3 of many!
Great stay, the facilities were great, lovely and warm which is what we needed with the cold, wet and windy weather we had! The pot wash room was actually a bit hot! Washing machine and tumble dryer available too!The only downside is the pitches were very narrow. We were informed that the car needs to be parked next to our tent on the left (I guess to separate you from your neighbour) …. I’ve got a 5m bell tent which took up width of the pitch so had to park my car at the front, as did my sister, who was next to me (she has what I would say is a standard size air tent now!) and the neighbour to my right. The site did however allow gazebos which is great as I know a lot don’t) so my sister and I were able to squeeze one in between both our tents (minus a few tent ropes 🤣🤣🤣). The little petting farm was brilliant, the field area for the kids to play was a life saver as was the fresh milk!Would definitely stay again, would just be a bit nicer to have larger pitches
This was our first visit here after reading someone else’s recommendation for Pomeroy. We visited as a family of 5 with 3 young children all under the age of 9 and one of whom is disabled. Upon arrival the site looked very clean, tidy and modern. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely spacious grass pitch for our tent with lovely views of the countryside. The facilities were the best that we’ve experienced in any camp site we’ve visited. They had a great disabled changing/shower room and plenty of showers/toilets with hot water and an on site shop. Unfortunately our daughter is unable to use disabled shower facilities but she was able to use the onsite family bathroom each night and lay in the bath with ease and comfort. It was fantastic for her and made the experience much easier and enjoyable for us all as a family. Our children all enjoyed seeing and interacting with the animals on the site, eating their weight in ice cream everyday and having the best
Fabulous campsite, small, clean, friendly and quiet. Facilities are brilliant and very modern. Lovely field with stunning views. There is a small.area with animals, note the experiences only run at weekends. The ice cream and milk shakes were a bonus. Only small thing is there are electricity pylons running through the tent field. And please don't be a victim of your success, the site is perfect due to it's small size, stay that way.We are already planning our next trip here. Despite the rain it was the best camping experience we have had.
