A member of Tranquil Parks, Longnor Wood Holiday Park is a small AA 5-star touring campsite with hot tub lodges and is a pure countryside retreat. Exclusively for adults, the quiet site policy guarantees a relaxed atmosphere, with just the melodies of birdsong to break the peace and quiet. A warm welcome awaits from the team.
Surrounded by woods, meadows and rolling hills, the site is convenient for the scenic walks, cycle trails and villages which make the Derbyshire Peak District special. Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth Estate are all an easy drive.
Longnor Wood is blessed with wonderful dark skies which you can enjoy from the comfort of your own hot tub lodge, caravan holiday home with hot tub, en-suite glamping pod or tent/touring pitch.
Longnor Wood is a dog friendly Peak District campsite, with a range of pet friendly accommodation, scenic large dog field and meadow with far reaching views for walks, exercise and play and a hot water dog wash to clean your 4-legged friend after a day of adventure.
Longnor Wood has 47 hard standing touring pitches, all with electric, some serviced pitches, a sheltered camping field for tents and a 5-star amenity block with laundry and under cover dishwashing area and campers’ kitchen with vending machines, kettle, microwave, toaster and small freezer. Small, licensed shop on site selling local produce and a range of essentials. EV charging point and free WiFi. Gym, sauna available for exclusive hire and games room. Pizzas and breakfast rolls available weekends.
The 5-star site also offers bespoke, luxurious 1 & 2 bedroomed holiday lodges for 2 or 4 adults, all with private furnished decking and covered outdoor hot tubs, sited in sheltered woodland away from the touring pitches. The 1-bedroom lodges have been configured specially to house 2 adults and provide spacious accommodation with a range of extra amenities such as private hot tub, Nespresso coffee machine and wood burning stove (Peak lodges only).
There are also 2 en-suite glamping pods (no hot tubs) and 6 caravan holiday homes with outdoor hot tubs for 2 adults.
Whilst there are no immediate amenities, most guests come to Longnor Wood to enjoy the wildlife, tranquillity and dark skies after a day’s exploration of the Peak District. Longnor village has a small range of amenities including pub, shop and fish and chip shop. The site is a short drive from a range of wonderful Peak District pubs, serving great food and real ales. Buxton and Bakewell are around a 20-minute drive and the Chatsworth Estate is a popular day trip for many guests. There are a range of traffic free cycle paths a short distance away and huge numbers of beautiful walks. Public transport options are restricted due to the rural location and guests will need a car to make the most of what the beautiful Peak District has to offer.
Open 1st February to 3rd January.

All weather pitch |
The tent field is purely for tent’s and can accommodate tent’s up to 6mx6m. All tent pitches are now all weather pitches.
All tent pitches are now all weather pitches, tents can still peg in to the grass but the main part of the tent will sit on the pea gravel base. This is to try and prevent wear making the pitches muddy. Ground sheets/tarpauling will be available from reception should you wish to borrow one.
We have also attempted to level the field so there is now less of an incline.
The tent field is purely for tent’s and can accommodate tent’s up to 6mx8m. If your tent is bigger than this it can be accommodated on the main field on a standard pitch. The main field is a mix of caravans and tent’s.
If you are unsure, please contact us and we will be happy to advise.

Lovely site, excellent location. Facilities very good and well maintained. Fantastic area for walking. Plenty of good places to eat within a few miles. We've been about half a dozen times in the last three years and it's always nice and peaceful which is how we like it. That was until our last night on this visit. Three couples arrived on Friday the 6th Sept on pitches 37, 38 and 39. They got noisier and noisier as the evening progressed and the more they drank until at 10pm they decided it would be a good idea to start playing music at full volume and singing at the tops of their voices for the benefit of the rest of us !! They eventually started to quiet down at about 11ish. We have no problem with people enjoying themselves but they had absolutely no consideration for anyone else. I can't help feeling they might have been happier at Butlins. We didn't report it to reception as we left on the Saturday as there were several people waiting ahead of us or we would have.
Super place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway holiday. We stayed in a dog friendly static caravan with a hot tub which had everything you needed and was lovely and clean and warm. The park itself had super views over the local area and was only a short drive away from local towns and attractions. There was an area where you could walk the dog in a fully fenced field which was ideal and a short walk in the wood itself. Would definitely go again.
We had a lovely stay. The facilities were good and staff were very helpful. The location is beautiful and the surroundings never failed to extract a "wow" from us. The only downside to our stay was the hot tub - it was a welcome bonus at the end of a hard days exploration, but noisy at night as it maintained temperature. We'd recommend the site to those looking for a base to explore a beautiful county.
Lovely park. Very clean. Lovely hot tub. Great location. Although there was a few things wrong such as bulb off above bed. Towel ring not fixed to the wall. Water wouldn't stay in sink . Shower overflowed onto the floor every time we used it. Also loss of power one morning. These issues were dealt with very quickly but some could have been sorted before.Lady who showed us around was lovely and the lady who took our key was nice but staff on site never said goodbye or safe journey etc.A recommendation for you would be to change the countdown to a visit from 'sleeps' to 'days' as it sounds quite childish and is after all a an adult site only. Lovely break though. We would return
Ideally situated to visit the beautiful Peak District. There are good dog friendly pubs nearby, although the service at the pub in Longnor was poor.Excellent dog exercise field and wood on site. Facilities were good and clean. A group of vans arrived the day before we left which were being a bit noisy late into the evening. However the warden had a word and it quietened down
On arriving at the site we were checked in quickly and then shown to our lodge by a friendly member of staff who took the time to show us the correct use of the hot tub and the facilities that the lodge hosted. There was everything that you could possibly need during your stay. Staff had thought of everything and more! The site was clean, staff very helpful and friendly and you were within easy travelling distance of a number of local towns/attractions (all within 20 minutes or so). I would highly recommend Longnor Wood and can’t wait to return very soon.
Nice stay, friendly site, enjoyed the food takeaway deliveries and the dog walking field was large with fantastic views especially at sunset. Would stay again, only reason we wouldn’t is because we like to go to see other places.
Great facilities. Good location. Extremely clean, lovely showers, best chemical waste too date by far, friendly and accommodating staff, perfect small gym and sauna.Longnor a lovely little village with super friendly pub, great food and beer. Very nice fish n chip shop.Midway between Bakewell and Buxton. So nice I stayed an extra day.
We stayed on the pitches with our campervan, the pitch was nice, the campsite was nice and quiet. However there was a problem with the boiler in the toilet block so unable to use the showers for a couple of days, luckily they had the gym (new for 2024) with 2 showers otherwise not sure what would have happened! There were alot of rabbits popping up from under the lodges and alot of droppings scattered around the site.Unfortunately the best view was the dog walking area, no views from the site.We had come from a stunning 5* site, and were very disappointed with this site as it was nowhere near the same level. The toilet and sink are so close together I nearly lost my Toothbrush! There were no counter tops to put my wash bag on, and to get help with getting ready.Unfortunately we will not be returning. The views driving to the site were out of this world.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean, a very peaceful relaxing site, will visit again.
