We provide camping at two locations around the farmhouse hub facilities; a Certified Location Caravan & Camping Club site with hard standing for five units accessed through the Yorkshire Dales National Park Car Park, meadowland tent pitches for tents and trailers by the river and Dales Way footpath behind the farmhouse, and two comfortable camping pods.
The National Trust bought Heber Farm in 1994 to help preserve it as the last working farm in the village.
Tenanted by us since then, the farm keeps us busy with 600 sheep, plus cattle including a developing herd of Belted Galloways. As hill farming becomes less able to survive commercially in today’s economy the new herd provides a more viable breed, naturally equipped to live outdoors without the costs associated with indoor accommodation and feeding.
Garry is on the steering group for the Yorkshire Dales National Park looking at ‘higher nature farming’ practices as a means to long term sustainable farming methods that benefit the environment.

Sorry we are no longer able to accept dogs in the Galloway pod.
No more flapping guy ropes and crawling under wet canvas, this is glamping! Just bring what you’d normally bring for camping – except the tent. Cook outside* and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the decking while you admire the fabulous view and enjoy the glory of the dale around you.

We had such a lovely three days at Buckden. Stunning scenery, great facilities- the bathrooms were top notch- and so many lovely walks on our door step. We will definitely be returning.
We had a wonderful time. The location was stunning, the site well maintained and the site owner was very helpful and welcoming. We will definietly be returning. 10/10.
We were made welcome on our arrival. We were shown around the camp and all facilities were explained to us. They had thought of all the little extras. Camp was always clean and tidy and friendly staff were always around if help was needed.Great location.I'll definitely be back
We had an amazing stay at Buckden! The facilities were the best I’ve seen yet and the owners couldn’t help you enough. An absolutely perfect location for walks and dips in the river! Will definitely be returning.
We had a wonderful stay at Buckden Camping. What we liked best about the campsite:We were called back by Gill ( we also stayed at NT Embers Camping Polesden Lacey where no one answerer our calls and we could hardyl find the camping)Although in the weekend the camping was fully booked a place for us was createdThe camping was very quietThe facilities like toilets, cold and warm water, charging your phone and information about walks were excellentThe owner of the camping, Gill, and the ward, Paul, were very friendlyThe natural area is wonderful and very 'pureThe roads in Northern England by the way are very dangerous, neglected and old-fashioned. Actually a shame for a modern country like England. Improvements should be a political priority. But that is totally besides the camping...In the attachment my watercolour painting with the view from the camping.
Friendly campsite, amazing location. Quiet with plenty of space to pitch. Toilets and facilities really clean too.
The whole booking process to arriving, our stay and leaving was fantastic. Buckden have thought of everything. What a beautiful setting.
Initially only booked for 1 night but just had to stay another….. excellent, picturesque & peaceful location in the heart of the village. Very friendly hosts and warden. Pitches were spaced well & not crowded, in a great location with stunning views. Toilets and showers were a 2 min walk across the road to the farmhouse, but not a problem & all very clean and well maintained. Lovely pub, The Buck Inn a few minutes walk serving great food, friendly atmosphere and dog friendly. Great walks directly from the site. Highly recommend & I will return.
We loved staying in the camping pod in Buckden. It was a very basic pod, but the price was very good too, so we had everything we expected. We brought bedding, but a bed sheet does not fit on the beds (unless we were doing it wrong!). Also there definitely needs to be more showers. There was constantly a queue because there were only 2 showers between the whole campsite. But overall, it was clean, quiet and a beautiful place to stay. Would definitely recommend.
Visited 22/07/22 for the weekend …. The weather was wet, but the location, facilities and the views made up for it. Great pitches with little fuss from the owners considering we were 6 blokes away camping. With our fire pit off the ground and lovely neighbours we had a great weekend . The pubs locally were fantastic and skipton is worth a visit Thank you buckden camping
