For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

Enjoyed our stay at Knight Stainforth very much.Explored the wonderful surrounding area during our stay.It is a fabulous site in a a great location & run by friendly & helpful owners.Definitely a hidden gem, very much worth a stay.
Brilliant caravan site nice and clean toilets very clean love the heated floor in the showers would definitely recommend this site
Lovely family run site, immaculate as always, beautiful scenic site from all angles.Safety !!! The road into the site after barrier is a worry.Traffic going towards the static vans drive far too fast, the gaps in hedges children go through and aren’t aware of the cars traveling down at speed.Maybe news letter to static residents, and possible speed limit signage along that particular stretch of road to all residential and touring units.Thank you for our lovely stay
We stayed at Knight Stainforth Hall after it was recommended to us and were really glad we did. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by stunning Dales scenery, with lots of great walks nearby that show off the best of Yorkshire. The site was very clean and the shower and toilet block was always warm, which was much appreciated in the cold weather. The only downside was that the on-site restaurant and bar were closed over the Christmas period. We’re already thinking about when we can come back. Thanks for a great stay.
We booked for three nights it was blowing a hooley so we had to just do two nights, one of our days we walked with the dogs, although there are good facilitues for dogs onsite, shower area very clean and warm.Knights Table restaurant and bar is fab excellent food.
We have been many times & it just seems to get better every time. New reception block, friendly welcoming, we were contacted a couple of days before to let us know about a road closure & how to get here via a diversion. The site was very quiet due to time of year, but all facilities were still open, The toilet facilities were excellent, clean, underfloor heating in refitted shower rooms. The pictures in toilet block of the history of the site are very interesting. Although we didn’t eat at the Knights table this time, we did enjoy a pint or 2 of the local beer. The staff are very approachable & friendly. Apart from awful weather on the day of journey to site, the Sun came out to play & we enjoyed a lovely walk into nearby town of Settle for a delicious Pork pie & cakes at the Old Naked man cafe, then a wander around town & the Mill on our walk back to site.
Great site with great facilities and beautifully kept I would say the showers could’ve been slightly warmer but toilet block was immaculate. Great walks in surrounding areas really enjoyed settle and Elaine‘s café. Great dog field leading to a small wood which is fenced off from the river so completely safe.. beautiful food in the clubhouse had a great breakfast before we left, will definitely be back
We absolutely love this site, it's perfect. We've visited a few times over the last couple of months and looking forward to returning.
We arrived for a 3 might stay and were quickly checked in and directed to our pitch. the pitch had a lovely view down the valley.great facilities, lovely warm washing up area, plenty of toilets, showers were lovely and warm and didnt require a button press every 5 seconds. the Knights table cafe/bar/restaurant was really lovely and we thought reasonably pricedIf you go in October November definitely worth spending a while down at Stainforth Force one morning, we saw Salmon jumping which was a real privilege.
The site is lovely and an easy 2 mile walk into settle by road or the river. The pitch however, that we was allocated was on a hill and even though we had our MH on full chocks we still wasn't level. The electricity kept tripping throughout our 2 nights we were unsure if it was us or the site, but after stopping somewhere after we know it wasn't us.
