For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.

The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.

The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.

The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

Lovely site really enjoyed our stay , nice clean facilities. The restaurant and bar was a added bonus and the food was really tasty and not overpriced. The games room was enjoyed for a few family pool and darts matches. Would recommend a visit.

Great location close to Settle. We picked the location as we like walking. We visited Stainforth Foss ,Catrigg Foss and Victoria and jubilee caves while staying at Knights hall. A lovely site and a very friendly team running it, highly recommend a visit

I have been going to Knight Stainforth since I was a child (now 40)! It’s a fantastic campsite, facilities are always clean and functioning perfectly. It’s dog friendly and the knights table does fantastic food, but you need to book in advance

Good location

Whittington, Robin - 04/04/2024

When we stayed they were in the process of updating the showers, but as the site wasn't too busy we were able to use the family room, so no issues. It's a good place to use as a base to see local attractions and walking.

New showers

Housam, Nicola - 04/04/2024

We love our stays at this site. It is excellent as it the restaurant. Staff are fabulous and it's so clean. They have updated the showers this year. This is my only downside. The way the showers are angled and small divide makes the whole area wet. With only one hook on the door I really struggled to keep clothes dry in the cubicle. Only one cubicle had a shelf also. The water jet needs reangling, an extra hook on the door and a shelf would really help. Immaculate but a real struggle to keep things dry

Second visit great campsite

Price, Joanne - 02/04/2024

We stayed last summer with the family and came back as a couple for some hiking in the cooler months. Still a great campsite, very friendly, restaurant and bar on site (fab pies!) and great service. We had the dog too which was welcome in the bar/restaurant and a dedicated walking area that was large and contained.Location walkable to Settle, access to a number of walks and close to 3 peaks. It’s ideal and easy!

We’ve stayed at the site before having had it recommended by friends. It really is the whole package from peaceful to the surrounding area with views to die for. We’re looking to come back in September all being well.

Woodward, Debbie - 01/04/2024

We stayed for 2 nights in March 2024. The site is beautifully maintained with one of the nicest shower and amenity blocks we’ve ever used. So nice to have an enclosed dog field where you can let your dogs off leash for a run. Staff were very friendlyWe went to the restaurant on site for lunch (booking advisable) and the food was delicious and the service excellent. There are some lovely river walks adjacent to the site (even in the pouring rain!)
