Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.
Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.
Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.
We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.
Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.
Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.
We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.
We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.
All of our pitches are level and well drained. Touring hard-standing pitches have a 10amp electric supply.

This was our first camping trip as a family and what a great site. Facilities were spotless and regularly cleaned, shop that had all the sorts of things you forget and staff were always very helpful. Will be back again no doubt
Plenty of space to pitch a tent and not feel on top of others which was also well protected. It was only a short walk to all the facilities. Might be nice to plant some trees down the middle of the grass area to break it up.
What an excellent site. The staff are lovely and the shop is well stocked. We didn't try the cafe but it looked inviting with a nice outside seating area close to the playpark. The shower block was very clean and the showers were great. Plenty of loos so no waiting (and it was a busy B/H weekend we were there. There's plenty of space for children to have fun and a massive dog walking field. All in all a great site for families that we will recommend to our camping friends
Lovely family site, very safe for children. My 5yr and 3yr had lots to keep them entertained. We will definitely be coming again
We had a fabulous Bank Holiday stay at the Vale of Pickering. We have a continental van and we were so impressed with the lovely lady’s reaction on reception. She just explained how we had to pitch and ensured it was not a problem! Everywhere was spotlessly clean and so well kept. The facilities are some of the highest quality we have used. We will definitely be back!
Lovely site. All facilities were spotlessly clean. Staff friendly. The pizzas on the friday were delicious! Cannot fault this site one bit. My 5 year old loved it and was so upset when we came home a day early (due to the rain). I have already recommended to friends.
The site is located in quiet, rural part of North Yorkshire, perfect for a relaxing trip. You will need a car to get around the area. That said, there is a bus number 28 that will take you into Scarborough and Pickering, but the bus stops are over a mile away from the actual site. The site is immaculate, so are the showers and amenities. The cafe and shop are also really good. We will be back.
Fantastic clean facilities, lovely peaceful site. Well stocked shop and cafe, great chippy van on Saturday night. We camped non EHU and had a lovely spacious pitch with plenty of space for the kids to play. We will definitely be returning.
Amazing site, faultless, spotlessly clean, will definitely return 👍
Would highly recommend this site and will be returning soon.
