Vale of Pickering Caravan Park

4.8 (288 reviews)

Since 1985, we have provided keen campers and outdoor enthusiasts with a well kept, family run and top quality caravan park. With its panoramic views, our site is generously planted with trees, shrubs, flower beds and hanging baskets. We can facilitate a wide range of camping and touring options including caravans, motorhomes, campervans, trailer tents and tents.

Our 5 star holiday park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We have been providing touring and camping holidays since 1985. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism and originally opened with 5 caravans in the corner of the field. We have steadily grown over the years into the award winning park that we are today. With continual investment we work hard to ensure our grounds and facilities are kept in tip-top condition so that our guests can have a memorable stay.

Our grassed camping areas at The Vale of Pickering are all level and can accommodate most tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main park we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only.

Our spacious all-weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans, motor-homes, camper vans and trailer tents up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are level and well drained. We have 2 chemical disposal points and a drive-up motor home waste water point.

We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. Some touring pitches overlook the children’s play area and several are close to the shower block. Our centrally heated wash-rooms are situated in a central location within the park.

Our licensed onsite shop is open daily and caters for most needs, stocking basic necessities, children's toys and a small range of caravan and camping equipment. The local butcher supplies us with tasty bacon and sausages and we also stock free range eggs from a local supplier.

Our surrounding area really is 'Gods Own County' and is very special to us. We love to share our knowledge of the local area which in turn helps you to plan your days out to get the most out of the time you spend with us. There really is something for everyone including the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, the stunning North York Moors and historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley.

We have a host of popular attractions nearby including The North York Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard to name but a few. We are committed to stocking local produce in our shop and cafe wherever possible supporting our local producers and makers. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Our local village pub The Cayley Arms, Allerston is just 1.25 miles from our park and the Coachman Inn, Snainton is 3 miles from the park offering excellent food and drinks.

We invite you to relax and share with us our 'Happy Place'.

Little gem of north yorkshire

Howley, Laura - 08/08/2026

This is not our first time at vale of Pickering we’ve been coming for a good few years now, we’ve seen it change and grow to what it is today and it’s fantastic! A great little site for families with outstanding facilities. The staff our always friendly and welcoming we love where it is, it’s so peaceful and nice little walks for the dogs the shop is great even stocking tent pegs and hammer after we forgot to pack ours! There’s a little information hut where you can also borrow books which I like, the chippy van is definitely one to try if you’re there on the days it comes my only advice is go early if you don’t like queuing as it gets very busy but well worth the wait

The site its self was lovely, but it doesn't seem to be patrolled by management very well. as the children were out of control Riding bikes & running all over our pitch when we were sat outside , No parents watching & riding bikes over the banking.Everything else was great...

Spotlessly clean, delightfully flat, populated by civilised kids and adults. Only visit if you don’t plan to spoil that.
