However we wanted to spend a night near to the North Yorkshire Moors for New Year so searched Google. We booked a night at the Vale of Pickering intending to use it mainly as just a base so had no expectations. However upon arriving we were blown away. The site was immaculate, well laid out and had a children’s play area which please our little girl. The toilet/shower blocks were basic but immaculate and had everything we needed and as a special surprise the site had an amazing display of Christmas lights and what looked to be a grotto. This wasn’t just a few lights thrown up here and there but an amazing display that must have taken weeks to install and really made our daughters face light up (no pun intended). However what really made this site stand out was the staff, they were some of the nicest people we have encountered on our travels. We were made to feel really welcome, nothing was too much and everyone had a smile on their face. We could not recommend this place enough and will be back.

The site was one of an handful that opens over the new year and certainly the major one in the area. On arrival the lady behind the desk was more than helpful and explained all we needed to know. The entrance to the site had been decorated for the festive period and looked superb. The site is set out well and kept clean and tidy with plenty of water taps and drainage points. The toilet blocks were also clean and kept warm. This is a site I would certainly recommend and will return later in the year.
