Woodland Caravan Park is a serene getaway nestled in 10 acres of natural woodland within the Snelston Hall Estate. Catering exclusively to adults aged 18 and above, this park provides a peaceful retreat for discerning guests seeking a quiet and relaxing holiday amidst nature's embrace.

As the name suggests, the park offers a woodland setting where all pitches are strategically placed among the trees. While this guarantees a tranquil atmosphere, it also means that pitches may not be bathed in sunlight throughout the day, adding to the rustic charm of the experience.

Conveniently located just 2 miles south of the picturesque market town of Ashbourne, Woodland Caravan Park is within easy reach of numerous cultural and outdoor activities. Proximity to the stunning Peak District makes this park an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts, offering convenient access to the area's natural beauty and attractions.

Accommodating a total of 50 well-placed hard standing pitches suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes, and trailer tents/folding campers, this park ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay amidst the woodland ambiance.

** Unfortunately, tents are not accepted. **

Facilities at Woodland Caravan Park are designed to enhance guest’s holiday experience. Modern heated toilet and shower facilities are meticulously maintained for cleanliness, with free showers, hairdryers in the ladies' washroom, and electric shaver points in the gent's washroom provided for convenience. Additionally, a modern accessible disabled toilet and shower room cater to guests with specific needs.

Laundry facilities include a washing machine and tumble dryer (charges apply), along with an iron and ironing board for added convenience. Guests can also utilise a microwave oven and enjoy a book exchange service during their stay. For outdoor enthusiasts, a secure one-acre dog exercise area is provided, complete with shaded spots, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for your four-legged friends.

One of the highlights of staying at this park is the opportunity to connect with nature and observe diverse wildlife. From squirrels and pheasants to various bird species, the park's natural setting offers a delightful spectacle for nature lovers. The changing seasons also bring out the beauty of the woodland, providing a unique experience throughout the year.

Beyond the park's boundaries, guests can explore the southern end of the Peak District and the charming town of Ashbourne, known as "The Gateway to the Peak District." The area boasts a wealth of attractions, including historic market towns, scenic trails for walking and cycling, and renowned stately homes such as Chatsworth House.

An onsite information point offers valuable insights into local attractions, walking routes, cycling trails, and dog-friendly destinations, ensuring that guests can plan memorable outings during their stay.

Totally laid back

Willis, Keith - 23/07/2024

On arrival we were met by the friendly owners and were given lots of information about the site and local area. We were shown personally to our pitch and offered assistance if needed. Lovely large and flat hardstanding pitch, not overlooked by others. Shower room and toilets absolutely spotless and well maintained. They have a fully enclosed dog exercise area, which our dog had a great time exploring. Although the weather was not great, during our stay, and we hard rain nearly everyday, the pitches were not flooded or impacted in any way. If you love being in woodland surrounded by owls, rabbits etc. this is the place for you.

Once again we had a lovely relaxing time, nothing is too much trouble if you need advice. The whole site is clean and although it is in a forest setting is tidy around your pitch. We love it so much that we have booked a seasonal for next year.

Weekend break

Hurst, Melanie - 18/07/2024

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Ruth and David were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. We were in our campervan and made full use of the facilities. The cost of electric is extra but don't let that put you off as for the weekend using a kettle ,fridge permanently on, hairdryer and charging phones we used the grand total of 29p! The showers were great and very clean, and also there's an option to buy cakes, ice creams, and fresh eggs on site. We had a walk around the woodland site, which was very peaceful and picturesque. We took a taxi, which picked us up on site into Ashbourne, which is a really pretty town with great shops and bars. We recommend the House of Beer pub with great ales. We will definitely return and absolutely recommend you give them a try.

What a tremendous site! Fabulous woodland setting. Very conveniently situated for Ashbourne and the Peak District. The facilities are probably the best I’ve ever experienced. Everything you want and more. And the couple that run it could not be nicer, more friendly or more helpful. Great job, keep up the good work and can’t wait to return!

Lovely woodland setting

Russell, Grahame - 09/07/2024

Ruth and Dave were excellent hosts, their facilities were up with the best we have encountered. The pitches were large and well segregated, there was an excellent dog exercise area and Ashbourne was just a couple of miles down the road. The Darley Moor motorcycling circuit was in walking distance and the was easy access to the dales for walks and trails, the Tissington Trail starts out in Ashbourne.

Good communication from the friendly Wardens. The site is well cared for and well presented. It was a brief overview stay but we found the adult only campsite quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the attention to details and our dogs also enjoyed the enclosed dog walk and dog treats.

Wonderful clean facilities with so many added extras. We had a quiet pitch that had views over the woodland. Went walking each day. The owners couldn't do enough to help. There are walk information ready to use and printable for you. A dog enclosure.
