First impressions lovely and scenic

Mitchell, Jessica - 24/05/2023

First impressions lovely and scenic. However the plots you are given are very hilly putting everything at a slant. Not much to do there as it’s quite small, it is very scenic and peaceful however, I just wish our van and awning wasn’t at such a slant

Peaceful site

Downie, Julie - 19/05/2023

We had a great stay. Lovely views. The shower block was fab. Clean with great showers. The only gripe we had was the sloping pitches. Our awning was on a slope so was unable to use the whole space.

Good overall, could have been better

O'Donnell, Daniel - 18/05/2023

Elm lodge was fantastic! Just what we wanted and we did have a lovely time! Place was clean tidy and well kitted out! However. On the first night we fancied watching a dvd… a bit lame I know, but hey. We borrowed a couple of dvds from reception but couldn’t get the dvd player to work. Nor the free view on the tv. I asked the young man on reception to come have a look at it, which after informing me he was no longer in duty, begrudgingly came to have a look.. he couldn’t fix the problem either. What would have been nice is an attempt to remedy the problem on the Saturday while we were out.. but it didn’t happen! Probably could have been an easy fix?..It didn’t ruin our stay at all… but offering a luxury lodge with all the trimmings is only good if all the trimmings work!Just a suggestion Dan

Disappointed

Auckland, John - 16/05/2023

There were only 3 caravans on site and we were put on the pitch furthest away from the toilet and shower facilities block we did stay there a few years ago and think the overall upkeep of the site is very disappointing and will not be returning

Dudley, Lesley - 12/05/2023

1

Booked for 4 nights only stayed 2.People drunk shouting swearing Singing until 2.30 in the morning. No security, rules not adhered to,quite time between 11pm - 7am, no children allowed in the toilets alone, but they were playing in there.Toilet are abysmal sinking floors and very small cubicles. Only good thing about this site is the views which are stunning.

Very dissapointed with the site.

Griffiths, Juie - 10/05/2023

1

Was dissapointed on arriving as the site definately does not match the pictures on the website. The toilets were in need of a lot of repair including the showers. The floors were badly bodged. The playground also needs a lot of TLC as there was a bolt loose on the swing, we reported it to the cleaners as it was dangerous. The road around the site is full of potholes. We didnt see any of the staff after the initial booking in and wa not told were anything was.The Elston point had a notice asking you to use the hose to clean up after but there was nothing there. There wa a smell of sewerage, maybe coming from the toilets etc. On the Monday when leaving they had to make the toilets unisex due to the mens not working properly. On leaving did notice there was a cabin being place which looked like going to be toilets but did not look very big.

Beautiful surroundings to relax in

Ward, Sonya - 10/05/2023

Lovely site overall, beautiful trees and green woodland surroundings, nice pub up the road, but the toilet block is getting ready for a refurb, especially the floor. This wouldn’t put me off staying again though.

poor facilities

Parkin, Howard - 06/05/2023

2

The site is in a very good location but unfortunately let down by the toilet and shower block in the gents only one toilet cubical was available for the whole site and two showers, on the last day of our stay this was also closed and the ladies turned into a unisex block. On arrival after negotiating pot holes and poorly maintained roadways and the grass on the site being cut with a petrol mower ready for the bank holiday influx of campers, a site of this size clearly requires a large sit on mower at the very least, a mobile toilet and shower unit did arrive during our stay being installed at the entrance to the site.I do hope this is a temporary measure and the original facilities block will be demolished and rebuilt correctly without the spongy wooden floors, this site if the many issues some not mentioned are addressed would be a site I would happily return to in the future.

Big family event

Stilgoe, William - 05/05/2023

4

We returned for our second year to hold a family camp with several families coming together. The staff were very accommodating and the only thing stopping the five star rating was the toilet block which has bouncy floors and some stalls were not available. This is in the process of being solved as they appear to be building a brand new block. Lovely spot and due to them also having cabins and motorhome hard standingq they were able to cater for all my family’s needs.
