Woodland Caravan Park is a serene getaway nestled in 10 acres of natural woodland within the Snelston Hall Estate. Catering exclusively to adults aged 18 and above, this park provides a peaceful retreat for discerning guests seeking a quiet and relaxing holiday amidst nature's embrace.
As the name suggests, the park offers a woodland setting where all pitches are strategically placed among the trees. While this guarantees a tranquil atmosphere, it also means that pitches may not be bathed in sunlight throughout the day, adding to the rustic charm of the experience.
Conveniently located just 2 miles south of the picturesque market town of Ashbourne, Woodland Caravan Park is within easy reach of numerous cultural and outdoor activities. Proximity to the stunning Peak District makes this park an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts, offering convenient access to the area's natural beauty and attractions.
Accommodating a total of 50 well-placed hard standing pitches suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes, and trailer tents/folding campers, this park ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay amidst the woodland ambiance.
** Unfortunately, tents are not accepted. **
Facilities at Woodland Caravan Park are designed to enhance guest’s holiday experience. Modern heated toilet and shower facilities are meticulously maintained for cleanliness, with free showers, hairdryers in the ladies' washroom, and electric shaver points in the gent's washroom provided for convenience. Additionally, a modern accessible disabled toilet and shower room cater to guests with specific needs.
Laundry facilities include a washing machine and tumble dryer (charges apply), along with an iron and ironing board for added convenience. Guests can also utilise a microwave oven and enjoy a book exchange service during their stay. For outdoor enthusiasts, a secure one-acre dog exercise area is provided, complete with shaded spots, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for your four-legged friends.
One of the highlights of staying at this park is the opportunity to connect with nature and observe diverse wildlife. From squirrels and pheasants to various bird species, the park's natural setting offers a delightful spectacle for nature lovers. The changing seasons also bring out the beauty of the woodland, providing a unique experience throughout the year.
Beyond the park's boundaries, guests can explore the southern end of the Peak District and the charming town of Ashbourne, known as "The Gateway to the Peak District." The area boasts a wealth of attractions, including historic market towns, scenic trails for walking and cycling, and renowned stately homes such as Chatsworth House.
An onsite information point offers valuable insights into local attractions, walking routes, cycling trails, and dog-friendly destinations, ensuring that guests can plan memorable outings during their stay.

very relaxing couple of days, dog walking area is fantastic. Everything you need on site. Facilities were immaculate can't wait to go back.
Perfect weekend retreat, wonderful warm welcome, excellent facilities.Cant wait to return,Thank you.
Only one downside but not a real problem.shortage of water taps
A good base for visiting Derbyshire. Such a beautiful site with lovely people who run the site. Very clean and well kept toilets also fresh baked cakes .
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The facilities are immaculately kept, the site is fairly small but that's what makes it so good for just getting away from it all.The nearest pub is around an hour's walk across public footpaths. It's a nice walk and the pub is decent. Ashbourne is further along, we didn't get that far so not sure how far!Back at the site, it was very peaceful. Being adults only it was really quiet, apparently there are owls that pay regular visits. Definitely recommended.
Easy access for all vehicle types. Location is central to lots of amenities close by if needed. Cleanliness of site is the best I've ever experienced, park keepers really work hard to keep the site immaculate and running perfectly for everyone. Very friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble. Electric is pay by meter reading but has always been very reasonable. Our last 2 day stay was only £2.66 in electric so you won't get ripped off. Lovely setting amongst trees, lots of wildlife to watch and the dog park is just the topping of the cake. Enclosed dog run area on the site at no extra cost. I wish this site was nearer to us as we would definitely go more often if it was.
What a maiden voyage! The hosts could not have been more helpful and friendly, even loaning us some rock pegs to manage the hard standing for our awning, which caught us off guard. Fabulous site with superb and spotless facilities. Every need was catered for. The site is really accessible and close to many lovely tourist hotspots in the peak district as well as local amenities for groceries etc. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommended. The dog exercise field was a much appreciated added bonus for our Pippy who also gave the site a 5 star review when we asked her 🐶. Thank you Woodlands for making us feel very welcome. Chris & Susan
