Ty-Isaf Caravan & Camping Park

4.3 (74 reviews)

Situated along the B4391 and part of a working farm, Ty Isaf Bala Camping and Caravan site is just two-and-a-half miles from both Bala town centre and Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid) while being well-renowned for its picturesque and idyllic scenery.

Search for availability Search for availability

The campsite itself provides a spacious and flat area for campers and caravans with areas equipped with electric hook-ups and fresh water points. Furthermore, there is a play area for children and the campsite owns its own fishing rights for a frontage of the River Dee – making it an attractive proposition to those looking for a quiet break.

Our camping fields are flat, spacious and set in idyllic surroundings. There is a free to use shower / toilet block and utensil washing room. Camp fires are allowed on all fields with the exception of the main caravan field.

We offer our own modern, well equipped static caravan for hire. Situated in the corner of the main field the static is a very popular choice and early booking is advisable.

Situated a short distance from the main campsite our river camping field, as the name suggests is adjacent to the River Dee. Ideal for the more adventurous camper or angler (Ty Isaf has the fishing rights on this stretch). There is toilet facilities but the main amenities are situated on the main site.

Awnings, barbeques and camp fires are permitted. Ty Isaf Bala Camping and Caravan site welcomes well-behaved pets (dogs to be under control on leads) but must stress that the site is music-free and anti-social behaviour isn’t tolerated.

Bala’s surrounding area also presents plenty of opportunities for campers to relax with a number of highly-recommended pubs and restaurants within the local area.

Open Minded Review

Nothing misleading, flat ground, nice staff, if I was to be nit-picking I’d say just to sign-post the Riverside site slightly better, and maybe offer a small variety of food/drink onsite? Other than that, absolutely sound

Bala long distance sailing event - unkind weather, great campsite

Rhodes, Rupert - 26/06/2025

I travelled 250 miles up from the south coast for my first experience of the Lake Bala long distance sailing event. While the weather was all sorts of wrong on both days, making it a frustrating weekend, my stay at Ty-Isaf was wonderful. I had a lovely chat with the owner, parked my van in a massive pitch, made use of the great hot showers (even had a shower curtain to protect your shed clothes and shoes, which was a nice touch) and drinking water hose. Lovely views, very respectful guests, no noise or music, would highly recommend and only a couple of miles from Bala. For £10 per night, compared to a LOT more at the closer camp sites, I’ll be back if I visit again. Just depends on the forecast…

First impressions

Mellor, Alan - 26/06/2025

As you drive into the site you are greeted with what looks like a dump for timber waste along with other materials ,while we understand that it is a farm it could be abit tidier around that particular area also the signage is poor we were asked by other campers where is the office we did say you can contact the office by phone but it seemed they preferred to talk inperson which I think is a good idea and the chemical waste area could be tidier/cleaner to operate again we understand it is a waste point these are just small things which don't take away the breathtaking views and tranquility of the site .on the whole we enjoyed our stay and would go again in the future. I'm sure these small things can be rectified without a big problem.
