Very nice campsite, shame it closes in October but were hardy campers. Having the lake on site is a draw, the facilities were spotless and immense views! Only slight issue was the showers were only just warm, could do with being quite a bit warmer. Was great to paddleboard on the lake, it's very shallow for quite a way out, which was good for my puppy and small children to keep safe. Would definatlly recommend 😊 thanks Glanllyn!
Stayed at the end of the season and the campsite was practically empty and in a great location. The staff on site seemed very friendly and the facilities were very nice, but quite a long trek to reach. We were warned it might be wet in any dips so we pitched on what seemed like the highest point but still after not much rain the surface water was deep and the mud squelching everywhere and over everything. That made me feel that in hindsight, the price was fairly steep for such poor ground despite the location.Would stay again but seek more advice beforehand.
Absolutely fantastic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There was only 2 issues the disabled toilets had no hand wash and it would have been nice to have seen someone in reception even if it was only a designated time during the day. Other than that pefect.
We arrived late after climbing cadair idris. Phone number on the door and the most helpful member of staff told us all the information needed. Lovely toilets and shower block with hot showers. Beautiful peaceful setting
No fiddling with coins for a shower, no walking across fields with bog roll - it's all there and it's really clean. Plenty of hot water, soap at the sink, hand dryer. Convenient drinking water taps. Large clear recycling containers. Plus, the real reason I came, lakeside camping. Much larger site than I'd usually go to but in office season, not overly busy and getting to the lake in just a few steps is ideal.
With friendly staff, a warm welcome, and lovely warm showers, this is a definite must-see. Everything is on your doorstep, even the buses from right outside that ran like clockwork. Spotless facilities were right on hand. The only reason we've not said 5 star, is we felt that in dodgy weather, the hard standing could have been a little bigger to accommodate our awning as well, to avoid unnecessary wet shoes etc. First world problem, though. I'd heartily recommend this site without reservation, and we'll definitely be returning. Loved the whole stay. Ardderchog!
Great spot for us as we launched our paddle board straight from the site. Bus stop right outside the site into Bala, which is dog friendly.
Love the location, staff friendly and flexible and facilities pretty good.Prob my 4th or 5th visit.Only downside is I thought it was quite expensive. (Approx £10 per night more than when I stayed a few years ago)
