We stayed in the bell tents and the field was lovely and spacious and plenty of room outside to relax. Tents were well equipped. Restaurant food good and staff really helpful. Main issue we had was the size of the shower/toilet and the cleanliness of them. The block was far too small and the not enough space to hang clothes etc in shower cubicle. Separate shower and toilet areas would be better as the toilet floors get very wet for adjacent shower. Also noticed the sinks were blocking and not in a clean state to use and no soap in the dispenser.
Poorly maintained site Overflowing cess pit which when speaking to people had been like that for several days. Grass too long on pitches and litter on road and bins full. People having fire pits when site rules state none allowed and no warden patrols Overgrown hedges and weeds everywhere The bistro not open through the week either. The location is 2 miles out of Llangollen ctr
Lovely place around the abbey, with friendly staff and an easy check in. A bunch of facilities make this a good place for families. For us we found the (larger) tent field a little awkward in so much that it's not all that flat and all around the (nicer) edge of the field is allocated pitches which isn't that great for choosing the unallocated pitches (mostly results in having to choose a space more in the middle of the field) - not sure what the score is with the smaller camping field.Wind was a bit of a problem during our stay but since this was our first time, I can't say if it's typically a windy place. Road noise was noticeable in the night - larger camping field is close to the roadoverall - yeh nice place, and possible to walk (safely) in the Llangollen via a track directly from site, and then on to the canal
I have camped at Abbey farm a number of times, always clean and enjoyable. 100% recommended
We have been previously and loved the site as it's well kept and enjoy the surrounding area for the walks. Just one thing that could be better is the lighting at night walking from the pub /restaurant to our motorhome. It's pitch black and it's quite daunting. We did mention previously.
Been for the past 5 years no sure about next year due to feeling intimidated by grounds man always asking for something and looking over made to feel uncomfortable whilst we was there there was a group of 25 (family trip) nothing out of control. Found it disappointing because we really liked abby farm up until our last stay.
Lovely campsite in a stunning area. The facilities however, showers, toilets dishwashing area is awful
It’s a great house with all mod cons at a reasonable price. We enjoyed the hot tub and bbq hut too. However it desperately needs a new toaster. Only one slot out of 4 functions correctly. Two are broken and the other one only toasts one half of the slice.
My first visit to the site. I was disappointed with the facilities as the site fees aren’t on the low side. The toilet block, shower block and washing up facilities are all in need of renovation.
