Only one thing disappointed us was the WiFi and phone service. We couldn't use the WiFi it kept going off the signal was not strong enough to even see it. The camp it self was so clean and tidy
This was out 5th or 5th stay in the cottage, same cottage every timeWe also stayed when we had our tourer caravan a couple of times. My husband Is physically unwell with several conditions He feels comfortable in the cottage at Abbey Farm. The cottage has all you would need Despite sleeping 4 i don’t feel the lounge area is big enough for 4 people The hot tub is a great asset, my hubbs loves it. I feel there isn’t much to do in Llangollen This yr we went to Bala lake and a trip on the train round Bala lake also a narrow boat ride over the highest aqueduct in the Uk. I feel if there was a play area on the site for the children be a good idea. The bistro is fabulous. The food is great. Staff are really nice. Sadly this year thr bistro wasn't open as it was last year 9-9. Was only open 9-9 Thur-Sunday from 5 early part of the week, but little dining. There are enough takeaway in Llangollen. There is an Aldi & home bargins. Just through Llangollen centre Definitely go
Check in was quick but we weren't given much information, thankfully we googled and picked up a leaflet with most of the info we needed to plan our weekend. General camp had no areas marked so it was a free for all and huge groups of tents dominated several areas of the main field. Noise wasn't too bad considering it was summer holidays, it generally was quiet by 11pm and until 8am which was lovely! The bistro was a surprise the food was lovely but screaming kids until 11pm didn't make for a very enjoyable atmosphere if you wanted a quiet drink at the end of the day, maybe needs a curfew for under 18s?Facilities were a huge let down unfortunately- 3 toilets for main camp to share and they were leaky, dirty, smelled bad and not maintained with hand towels or soap well at all. We struggled to even find the shower block and the washing up area was mile from the tent field, not ideal for dragging all your washing up there and back. We enjoyed the walk into llangollen to the narrow boa
The bell tent is lovely and is in a nice & quiet area of the campsite which we appreciated. However it would be good if more amenities are provided, such as basic cutlery/cups/mug. It also would be good if there was a fan as it got really hot. The bed was so comfy and it was very clean. The showers/toilets were always clean but my boyfriend struggled with the water in the shower as it just trickled down the wall. We would definitely return to Abbey Farm and we would book a bell tent again!
The site is super clean and located just out side of Llangollen perfect location for spending some time in the town or visiting horseshoe falls The amenities and in a good state clean and tidy however some toilets definitely need some tlc although clean age is getting to them Value for money though is definite and with milk and ice cream machine on site if they worked all the time it'd be even better
We come to Abbey farm every year, We always have a really good time. We love it! We have came as a family, with extended family, and with friends and it's always a good time. The site is lovely and I like that the site isn't massively built up with parks or rides or money making stuff like some sites. It allows the kids to explore nature and use their imagination with traditional games, while still having enough to do on the site, such as a walk around the abbey, the stream and nearby attractions such as the steam train and horseshoe falls for a swim. There are also shops, restaurants and parks a short distance away. The onsite bistro is also really nice, offering lovely food and drinks. We also love the milkshake machines, the kids get so excited making themselves a milkshake! This only thing I would suggest is that off the ground fire pits to be permitted at the customers own risk. Toasting marshmallows makes a great traditional camping experience.Overall it's a brilliant site
Half way through large group came, very noisy, dogs roaming and toilets were disgusting. Site needs overhaul oftoilets and showers which were covered in black mould! They need cleaning much more than once a day. Staff were helpful and did clean them when I asked. There was no soap for 2 days and no plugs in sinks!! I should imagine that it is much more tranquil when it's not the 1st week of the school holidays! Sunday lunch in Bistro was excellent. It is a beautiful site and lovely and handy for Llangollen. Pod was adequate but the floor was dirty. Had to wipe it before could put anything in it! Staff were great. Very helpful if you needed anything.
I would like to suggest implementing regular and standardized cleaning for the toilets and bathrooms. Having a scheduled cleaning routine—especially during peak hours—and ensuring supplies (like toilet paper and soap) are regularly replenished would significantly enhance the overall hygiene and comfort of the campsite.
Had the best time here. Eveything was clean and tidy. Bistro is good value and the food is lovely, the added feature of a free bouncy castle is great too. Lots of beautiful views and the abbey is a great historical feature.
