Boasting a number of electric and non-electric grass pitches, our site is surrounded by the rolling hills of Yorkshire and Lancashire. Perfect for walking. Why not follow the Pennine Way which runs straight through our Country Park!
Those camping at Thornton Hall will receive a discount on entry to Thornton Hall Farm situated a stone’s throw away from the campsite (subject to availability).
Next to the campsite, we have Thornton Hall Farm – a children’s Farm Park which is open from January to December and has a full calendar of events throughout (additional cost).
We have lots for you to do whilst you are staying with us should you choose not to sit back and relax…
The Pendle Way crosses through the centre of the farm or why not join the Pennine Way leading from the village. We have the Leeds & Liverpool canal within walking distance of the farm – for a longer walk head to the historic town of Skipton or take a shorter stroll to the village of Salterforth. You could even hire a barge to explore all the beauty of the canal – available at Skipton.
Experience hands-on animal encounters on our traditional working farm at Thornton Hall Farm. Climb onboard our Safari Ride* and take a trip up to our Deer Park then enjoy some delicious food in our onsite diner while the little ones burn off the remainder of their energy in our huge fun-filled Play Barn… a fun-filled, informative family day out, RAIN OR SHINE!

The camping facilities are great, well maintained large pitches with everything you need close by, . The warden lives onsite and is helpful and friendly which give you that extra level of security if you need it. We went to an event at the secret garden which is a fabulous venue, my only gripe is the quality of the wine, it was awful 😖. Would defo recommend a visit for the location, facilities and access to Skipton and the great outdoor
I’ll start with the positives - plenty of space to pitch and we were able to park next to our pitch. Facilities were clean, although a little cramped and sometimes needed to queue. The farm was brilliant, my daughter loved it and they had Dino live on while we were there, 50% discount for campers. Check in was easy, you’re allocated a pitch and they are all numbered well.Negatives - our pitch was on a slight slope, there is no cover at all for if bad winds come at you. This is all minor, the main problem we had was noisy neighbours. We’d booked for 3 nights, stayed 2 as I’d had enough. No management of other campers and the disruption they were causing, music still on at midnight, despite the camp rules. Such a shame as this tainted our experience. Yes on both nights I spoke to the campers making noise, and so did other campers, (2 separate families, not the same family on both nights). However why should it be up to fellow campers to police this?!
Nice clean site, farm park next door is great to visit with young kids. We liked the short walk through the church yard and visiting the local milkshake machine! We found it a bit too noisy at night as there was loud music locally coming from possible the farm park both Friday and Saturday night until about 11/ 12 o clock. Also some dogs were not kept on leads which doesn’t bother us but some people might not like it. Not many toilets and the showers were probably the least powerful I’ve ever used but fine if you are happy with a basic set up or don’t want to wash!
This is a lovely site with scenic walks and pubs nearby, also shops and towns are not far for shopping etc. Staff were excellent, very welcoming and accommodating. There are 2 issues i found these are, the toilets and shower blocks are far too small with only 3 toilets for the full site and 2 very small shower cubicles. Also access to the outdoor park is not granted without buying a day ticket on the farm. I think if the kids could go on the park upto 22:00 in the summer it would be a lot better, saying this the field is big enough to enjoy plenty of games and our kids had there bikes which kept them entertained in the rain 😂 and the dog loved it 🤗
Had attended a birthday party previously and thought it looked a great place to camp. The cleanliness was fab, staff friendliness and helpfulness couldn’t be faulted and the food at the cafe was delicious and service great. There was a Dino event on which was great fun too! We were however disappointed that campers didn’t get more privileges, to go into the actual park and use the playground for example, or use the cafe and we had to pay to get through reception each individual day (albeit with 50% discount). We missed the caterpillar train on the day we paid to go in so asked if we could pay for the the kids to have a ride on that only the following day, but were informed this isn’t an option unless we paid the same price we did the previous day - just under £40, plus the extra cost for the ride :(If you go with children it’s only really worth going for 1-2 nights, we booked for 1 more and came home early. If you’re going to make the most of the surrounding area etc that’s different
Im am hoping to come back in August this year,it is a site that is clean ,quite and beautiful views .having a warden is the best idea because it keeps the site from having people disrespect thier stay and coming on the site without booking .
First impressions weren't great. We got scant information from farm reception and the warden was nowhere to be seen for the majority of first night. Details of last orders for ordering from the diner should be given and details about booking for the farm. The camp site seems to be after thought to the farm. The ground was full of holes which we had to pitch over meaning we kept falling down them once inside the tent. Facilities are quite poor and not enough of them for the amount of people bookes over the bank hol. The bins were overflowing by the end of our stay and there being no recycling was disappointing. Quiet time is early at 8pm and as such isn't enforced Overall we had a nice stay but feel the site would benefit from some TLC eg lawn mowed, better loos and shower. Thought the farm was good value at half price but we weren't aware this wasn't the case the bank hol until we got the flyer, we'd have gone both days otherwise this could also be clearer on the website.
First impressions whilst reading the rules and regulations was of a regimented site which was slightly off putting but this is absolutely not the case ,it’s a very relaxed place with a great site foreman who’s happy to help and chat ,the farm park with animal petting ,shows ,horse rides is also really relaxed and full of things to fill a day for the kids .In all a fantastic site and venue for a full weekend away.
Me and my family boyfriend and little girl we came camping last weekend they was so much to do for kids and other family big play center and farm we got it all day witch was so good for the kids can’t Waite to come back in a couple of weeks we love the camping areas big grass area for the kids to play on it would be gate if you could orders food from your tent and get it brought to you but other than that we had had amazing time would highly recommend it to anyone
Staff friendly. Reasonably clean. Definitely tidy. But there were a lot of people staying over the Easter weekend with only three toilets (1 x male, 1 x female, 1 x unisex - so I effect only two available) and 2 showers. These are housed in a portakabin with nowhere to wait when it is raining. Our pitch was the nearest so people reversed into it and parked there while their family members went to the loo! We found this a little intrusive to say the least. The site's main attraction for us is it's proximity to relatives, otherwise I suspect we might try elsewhere.
