Welcome to Thornton Hall Camping!
Our family-run camp site is a top quality choice for families and couples who are searching for a tranquil place to stay in the gorgeous county of North Yorkshire.
Boasting a number of electric and non-electric grass pitches, our site is surrounded by the rolling hills of Yorkshire and Lancashire. Perfect for walking. Why not follow the Pennine Way which runs straight through our Country Park!
Those camping at Thornton Hall will receive a discount on entry to Thornton Hall Farm situated a stone’s throw away from the campsite (subject to availability).
Next to the campsite, we have Thornton Hall Farm – a children’s Farm Park which is open from January to December and has a full calendar of events throughout (additional cost).
We have lots for you to do whilst you are staying with us should you choose not to sit back and relax…
The Pendle Way crosses through the centre of the farm or why not join the Pennine Way leading from the village. We have the Leeds & Liverpool canal within walking distance of the farm – for a longer walk head to the historic town of Skipton or take a shorter stroll to the village of Salterforth. You could even hire a barge to explore all the beauty of the canal – available at Skipton.
Experience hands-on animal encounters on our traditional working farm at Thornton Hall Farm. Climb onboard our Safari Ride* and take a trip up to our Deer Park then enjoy some delicious food in our onsite diner while the little ones burn off the remainder of their energy in our huge fun-filled Play Barn… a fun-filled, informative family day out, RAIN OR SHINE!
'Quadtrex' is based within Thornton Hall Country Park and is an exciting quad biking adventure. Trek over 160 acres of woodland, fields, and quarry land and explore the heart of Yorkshire/Lancashire countryside. Located a short distance from both Skipton and Colne, QUADTREX has everything you need for an unforgettable day in the great outdoors. Quadtrex must be pre booked. Easy access and a nice location between Skipton and Barnoldswick. We booked a hard standing electric pitch which was great but be careful if you’re booking in winter as the grass electric pitches are not suitable for motorhomes in winter. Two vans got stuck while we were there. 3 toilets snd 2 showers were clean
Great pitch. Site was really quiet so no bother with facilities which I imagine would be a pain when busy.
We stayed on an electric pitch for 3 nights at the start of half term. We had an amazing time and all of the staff where very polite and helpful. Alot of effort from everyone on site is put in to make the stay so enjoyable. Our only negative was the electric to the caravan this in my opinion needs to be solved by putting more rcd's on the pitches. Luckily ot wasn't too busy but if it was this would have been more of a problem especially with the dip in temp. This did not ruin or spoil our break and we will definitely be returning.
Beautiful site, excellent facilities, welcome from staff on checking in. Everywhere clean and well cared for. Very peaceful. Lovely seeing the birds and spotting a passing hare first thing in the morning! Excellent value for money. Felt very safe. Have been twice this year and looking forward to many visits in 2026. 👏👏👍
Campsite and facilities were great. Apart from the weather windy and raining didn't spoil our fun .Going into the park paid admission, which is a great price then everything else to pay for on top eg pony rides, quad bikes, caterpillar ride, soft play. I think it would be better to pay a higher entrance fee to cover everything whether you use it or not.Only inside eating area was in the ball pool hall Overall it was good
Loads to do for kids, great staff, loads of parking, very clean, great food, only thing I would say is more toilets and showers are needed due to waiting time to use the facilities. Overall i can not fault as my stay it was 10/10
From arriving to leaving each and every one of your staff members were so friendly and attentive. Our camp warden was just amazing and so helpful, friendly and nothing at all was too much trouble. As for the campsite and farm, absolutely outstanding standards it was clean and tidy. Even the farm was immaculate which I was really surprised at.The whole atmosphere was so calming and relaxing. And we couldn't believe we was only 1 hour away and never been before.
We visited the farm park on the day of arrival and checked into our bell tent at around 4.30 when the farm park closes. The tents are decorated really nicely with thoughtful touches such as candles, flowers, lamp, Alexa, extra blankets, mini fridge, fairy lights, bunting, an electric fan heater - all very cute. The difference between the luxury tent and standard tent is the luxury one is on a raised deck, has two deck chairs out front, a little table and two chairs inside and an Alexa inside. I’d say it’s worth it for an extra £25. We ate dinner at the tempest arms pub - a 5 min drive away as there are no cooking facilities on site, or information when booking about what the rules for cooking are. There is a picnic bench provided with each bell tent which was handy, but again we didn’t know to expect this so brought camping chairs and tables unnecessarily.Would recommend to families. Toilets just ok clean but could be nicer as they are cramped, nowhere to put washing bag
Lovely 1 night stay in a very comfortable bell tent. The facilities were clean and sufficient, the staff were lovely and the site itself is big. It’s just lacking a bit of something for the kids to do once the park is closed? Maybe a small play area
There was plenty for the kids who really enjoyed it, i did book for two days, which really one day would of done, as the 2nd day was a little bit boring, as we done everything, the secret garden sould be open all day until late closing for those who are camping there,For us the holiday was a little ruined, with what happened with the bell tent, wasn't to happy to lose half of my money on a rug that only water was spilt on, underneath was filthy anyway and there was bugs crowing all over the place, and you should definitely have spare rugs for them tents, everything else in the tent was really nice, could do with the creative being hire up, and a bigger fridge.
