Overall it was a lovely stay and we loved the hot tub, restaurant and grounds. There were a few things with our house that needed a little TLC but perhaps it was because we went near the end of the summer season. The main struggle we had was with our toddlers bedroom door handle. There were several times where it appeared to stick and I struggled to get out of the room. Luckily we made sure to never shut the door with him alone but could have been worse. We also had a night of very bad weather and howling winds. Due to the age of the property the windows rattled a lot. Not sure what can be done about that but worth knowing if you are light sleepers. There were a few places in the house that looked like they could do with a lick of paint, some appeared to be water stains or damp. Lastly, the dishwasher kept throwing an error code and we weren't sure whether things had been washed or not. We ended up hand washing to be sure. But the location is ideal as a base to explore.
The park is a fabulous setting and lodge size great, sadly let down by cleanliness. We had dirty knickers left, blister pack of medication on floor, empty packets in drawers. The crockery and cooker hob were filthy and greasy and a soaking wet dirty tea towel left. Table and benches were sticky & floor hadn’t been swept & spiderwebs everywhere. Spent the first day of a short break buying detol and cleaning although I drew the line at cleaning the filthy oven and ate out instead. The bedding and towels appeared clean so I’m guessing this is the only job the cleaners do. We left the lodge cleaner than found but certainly put us off ever returning which is sad because it is lovely location with deer and peacocks roaming around.
This is our 2nd visit to Ribblesdale Park. Again we were not disappointed. On arrival the staff were attentive and welcomed us. We had a drink outside and were amused by the peacocks. The lodge was warm and welcoming. Exceptionally clean and inviting, with sachets of tea, coffee etc. The hot tub was very hot and fluffy towels available. All hot tubs are private. We enjoyed walking around the estate. The park is a very good base to discover the surrounding countryside. We spoke to maintenance staff who suggested places to visit. We will definitely return. Thankyou to all.
Lovely site, restaurant and staff. Only small criticism would be the mattress quality and works needed doing to the decking to clean and fix this up.
I arrived at Ribblesdale , and was told I would be escorted to my cottage. This was the only down side to where I stayed, I didn’t realise I would be quite a distance from main facilities and was very isolated, fabulous is there is 2 or more but by myself I am a scaredy cat. The cottage was an amazing, super clean , shout out to cleaning staff, well equipped, tea, Nespresso coffee machine and pods , I was really impressed. A fabulous place to walk and enjoy nature . I feel the locks were very basic and quite difficult to turn, there was a draught coming through some of the windows that didn’t close properly due to their age. My fault that it got very cold and I couldn’t work out the heating , no info in brochure on how to work it . Hot tubs could have been a little more private with perhaps a gazebo type structure above it so can be truly enjoyed all year round. Overall I was very impressed and will be returning. Don’t increase prices too much , I think it is just right at the moment.
This was our 5th visit to ribblesdale park and already 2 more booking for 2024 the staff are excellent location lovely ideal if you want to bring dogs with you plenty of places to visit ie clitheroe skipton bolton abbey steam trains i could go on the park itself has various accomodations ie cottages lodges and glamping the local restaurant hindelinis good food drink and service and sometime live entertaimment ty
Myself and my partner had a lovely time at Ribblesdale Park, the hot tub was lovely and so was the lodge. I would say that the only things that needed updating would be the appliances, such as having a proper kettle. Also I would say it would be nice to have basics in the lodge, such as cooking oil, salt, pepper and even body wash. But overall a lovely stay!! And we would come again.
Excellent couple of days, we had horrendous weather but still managed to enjoy the hot tub and restaurant which was a excellent, staff great, lovely lodge, as with most rural accommodation TV, phone signal and WiFi not great, will definitely be returning
Lovely clean, well cared for site, lovely accommodation and super hot tub. We really enjoyed our short break.
We chose to stay here for our first anniversary as we both very much needed a quiet break away. On arrival, the lodge (56) was rotten on the outside in parts. It had obviously been power washed recently so it looked quite run down as the washer had left the wood bare. The door into the lodge was very stiff and hard to shut. Inside the lodge itself was lovely & nice & clean but 1 of the blinds was broke in the living room. We were hoping for a quiet evening in the hot tub which we couldn’t even use due to the noise at the lodge below which went on past 1am. I went to complain the next morning after lack of sleep and was told to phone maintenance. We decided to go for a walk to the swimming pool for a dip but that was closed the whole weekend with no explanation, we thought we would have tea in the restaurant Saturday but it wasn’t taking walk ins due to big tables. More noise that night from the neighbours. Thankfully the Sunday was quiet. We left not feeling refreshed or relaxed
