Although I don’t live far from the park I wanted somewhere which would still feel like I was on holiday for my brief 2 night stay, it also had to be pet friendly as I was bringing my rescue dog.I stayed in a lodge with an enclosed garden and hot tub ( although didn’t use it) on first and last impressions the lodge was beautiful and had everything you could require from a self catering place ( and more) Seemed that I had forgotten my teabags but they give you a small supply of these as well as coffee/sugar and milk. Don’t worry about washing up liquid or tea towel either and being dog friendly bowls and poo bags too. My 2 days went too quickly and both Pipa and I loved the peace, the walks and if she had been better behaved we would have spent more at the onsite restaurant/bar. The only noise was the peacocks - so loud and the sheep. On the last night a young deer came to eat the neighbours plants. A lovely place and will visit again.
Overall our stay was good. The general housekeeping of gatehouse east could be better. I moved the bedside table slightlyTo fit in my charger and underneath was full of thick dusk and someone else’s hair bobble. There was black grout in the bathroom There was a rip in the duvet cover of the main bed. Although these are all minor things, for a 5 star accommodation you don’t expect to see it. It won’t put us off from staying- we stay every year in whipps which we love and are coming back in August. We just thought we’d tray gatehouse east for a change. But prefer whipps
We had a lovely stay. Cottage was beautiful we stayed at whipps. The outdoor pool was great and staff were very friendly and always happy to chat. The restaurant was beautiful food was amazing and good value. Again very friendly staff.Everywhere was very well kept clean an tidy throughout the estate.Would be a great addition to have little direction signs for the walking paths. Also some little activities ie archery etc We visited near by Skipton town centre which was great an very close. We also visited Billy Bobs parlour for food one evening which was amazing defo recommended. Great childrens play area if you have children with you.
The appointment was very nice had everything that needed the only thing that let it down was the outside table it was old and falling apart and the outside wooden cladding was in need of re staining and the outside railings to the door was very loose overall had a lovely stay and the restaurant food was excellent that’s why we stayed another night
We had a perfectly acceptable lodge for 2, with hot tub. The lodges are fairly close together, but designed so you don't overlook other people. Check-in experience was poor, with no clear directions or signage, and having to randomly wait around in a bar while they served drinks and meals and someone eventually came just to hand us a piece of paper with the lodge number on.There were several peacocks around the park, great to see, but noisy at 4.30am!! The lodges were clean & tidy, but everything looked a bit tired and dated - cladding deteriorating on the exterior, edges of the decking falling off. Would have helped to have some instructions for the hot tub, which didn't seem to do what you would expect, and also the heating inside the lodge. Was good to be able to walk to the on-site bar/restaurant for a drink, and it's not too far to walk to Gisburn for the pubs & restaurant there - we had a lovely meal at La Locanda.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
Fab place . A couple of points though 1; black out blinds 2; fans orA/C for the summer months 4; advise clients to bring kitchen roll and toiletries and a robe and slippers useful for the tub ! Otherwise we had a lovely time so peaceful and staff great
This was our first time staying here and we don’t know what to expect however it was better than we ever expected. We stayed for 6 nights and wasn’t ready to go home.We stayed at deer park and it was beautiful!! When we arrived it was lovely and clean, comfortable and had plenty of space. The enclosed garden area was perfect for our dog too and they also provided a pet towel and bowlWe went on the estate walks daily as we loved the views, it was very picturesque. We visited Hildenis four times whilst we was there and we couldn’t fault it. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Whilst there we also visited Malham cove and Skipton which i would also recommend as both were around a 20 minute drive away and had some lovely walks.Overall we had the best time and 100% will be coming back again!!
This was our second visit here it’s so relaxing, we really enjoy it. My only complaints was the floor in the lodge felt sticky and we had a compliant over the meal on the Saturday in hindilinis. I Ordered a chicken burger and they sent me the wrong meal. My husband had finished his meal and walked the dog before my correct meal arrived. The waitress was very apologetic though. Other than that we had a fabulous time. I also filled in a review form and handed it into the bar on the way home.
The site is in a beautiful area, it was very easy to find. The check in was easy and straightforward, the staff were very friendly and someone guided us to the gatehouse and showed us in. The gatehouse is beautiful and in a lovely setting surrounded by fields and sheep, seeing the lambs running around was lovely. The firepit was set up for us, the hot tub was ready to use and there was a gas barbecue. The bed was really comfortable and everything we needed in the kitchen was provided.Hindelinis restaurant was excellent for food and drinks, we ate there twice, it was very tasty, the portions were huge and good quality for money. We had a walk around the park and visited the pool area which is really nice, the map provided was very useful to find it as its a bit out the way.We didn't explore very far as were only there 2 nights but we did visit the delicious deli across the road for coffee and cake and would definitely recommend this.
Absolutely lovely, will definitely will be returning this year , the location is amazing so many walks
