The Oaks lakes at Sessay in North Yorkshire is home to lakes for both match and pleasure fishing. The lakes originally opened in 1994 starting with the Willows lake and over the years it has steadily grown. We currently have 10 lakes with over 400 Pegs, a large café, tackle shop and this year we will be opening a caravan Park in a quiet corner of the lakes so that everyone can come and enjoy the North's most well-known fishing complex.
The 4-acre field is rectangular with a mature wood running along the North West side providing shelter and privacy from the fishing lakes, the North east side faces the Hambleton Hills and the white horse.
A small peaceful, adults only, touring caravan park with supersized hard standing pitches all with their own electrical hook-up, situated in a quiet corner of the fishery but with easy access to the lakes and facilities. Next door to the tackle shop is the Oaks Lakes Cafe which is open everyday, serving cooked breakfasts, bacon sandwiches, panini's, soups, homemade cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.
The Oaks Lakes sit to the North end of the village and are screened with woodland and hedges there are 10 fishing lakes used for many course fishing competitions and featured regularly in the leading angling magazines. The whole area teams with places to go, whether you want to Walk, Cycle or Drive there is plenty to do here is a few: 18 miles away is the ancient walled City of York straight down the A19 approx 35 Minutes. 3 miles will take you to the market town of Thirsk, with its interesting James Herriott Museum. Castle Howard sits thirteen miles from us in the pretty market town of Helmsley.
All pitches are level, supersized hardstanding approx 14m x 12m wide.

Excellent relaxing stay with great fishing . Cafe serves great food . 5 stars from me .
We loved our stay and would highly recommend this beautiful site.Excellent location, beautiful surroundings with excellent fishing lakes. Very peaceful and calming.
Twice we've stayed here now, each time we've enjoyed it! Facilities are always kept clean everything you need is on site such as water, waste etc and multiple bins for rubbish recycling etc and also fishing , it's a very quiet place and we go here for the peace and quiet! The staff are always polite when we've seen them too :)
Oak Lakes proved to be a good base for exploring York, Rippon, Thirsk and the surrounding area. As well being a great fishing venue. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. We will be going back as there is much still to explore in the area.
Fantastic break away fishing. Was travelling back and forward and decided to stop a few nights in the tent. Peaceful at night and no rowdy behaviour which was brilliant. Hard pitches and grass pitches and electric available so made life easier. Onsite cafe open 8 till 2 which is very nice and food is great. A good stocked tackle shop also available. All in all was a great few days away fishing and not having to drive back and forth. Also toilets and showers onsite for those staying at the site. Take away delivery available via just eat from a fantastic pizza shop Pablos in Thirsk. Pizza lush and also the mixed box meal. Thanks again Cockney Lee
We booked in here for 4 nights initially but had to cut our stay short due to a family emergency. Sarah who looks after the campsite was so friendly and helpful. The day we arrived she was cleaning the toilet block and made an excellent job of it too.Really couldn't fault the site and hopefully we'll be back again in the future.
Not happy after fully setting up, being told to move our caravan from the left side of the hardstanding to the right side of the hard standing, having parking it exactly as the photo shows on the booking and survey photo. It is then pointless having hard standing, as we had to walk in the wet grass.
Love this site - we have been coming for several years. The site is well laid out - each pitch hard standing and grass. Plenty of space between each pitch. Facilities always clean. Really well maintained
Sure itself is lovely and peaceful but toilet block although clean could do with a slight upgrade
Lovely site, very relaxing and fantastic fishing
