The Alders has been developed on historic parkland on a working farm so that visitors can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Yorkshire countryside. The Alders is ideally located to explore the many attractions and beautiful areas in North Yorkshire. With the park's space and tranquility of the landscaped parkland it provides a beautiful environment for your stay.
The Alders have a range of Hard Standing and Grass pitches available with electric hook-up, suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans. The park also offers the opportunity to stay in your very own pod, they are located in their own landscaped area with plenty of space and privacy. Pods offer visitors the freedom and ambience of traditional camping whilst giving you a higher level of privacy and security and more comfort both inside and out. Alternatively pitches are available for you to bring your own tent.
Our standard pod is perfect for families and sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 small children.
The Pod offers you the freedom & ambience of traditional camping whilst giving you a higher level of privacy and security and more comfort both inside & out. Outside there is a decked area at the entrance for dining al fresco, chilling out or if the weather allows-sunbathing! You need to bring everything you normally would for camping apart from the tent.

Very welcoming and friendly, lovely flat pitch, excellent shower and toilets. Cafe on site served lovely coffee, cakes and savouries. If you like cricket there is a lovely club cricket ground and pavilion just as you enter. It has a licensed bar which is open Friday and Saturday, and if there is a match. Highly recommended
We stayed over the last May Bank Holiday but despite the campsite being full, it never felt that way. The setting of the campsite was lovely and quiet but close enough to many places to visit. Showers were hot, spacious and clean. In an evening it became quiet at around 9 and everyone was very respectful of the peace and quiet. We came with friends and our children aged between 9 and 15. All enjoyed it and would be happy to return. The staff here were really friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We were intending to visit the onsite cafe but ran out of time. Something to do on our next visit!
My favourite campsite, 40 mins from home. A friendly welcome, spacious pitches, countryside location adjoining a farm and cricket pitch. Lots of quiet cycling routes nearby.
We arrived on a quiet weekday, welcome was great, pitches very well spaced, toilets clean, fantastic setting overall great value Thanks
Thank you for such kind words! We are delighted The Alders 'hit the spot'!Hope you can visit us again some time.Best Wishes from The Team.
Brilliant site! Everything you could wish for and more. Level hard standing pitch with ehu (grass available), lovely café on site staff very friendly and helpful, very dog friendly, very clean toilets, showers & covered outdoor pot washing area if needed, elsan waste disposal, bins, lovely scenery, walks. All for a very good price too! Will definitely be back!
Many thanks Dean for such great feedback! It makes all the hard work worthwhile! We hope you get the opportunity to visit us again some time.Best Wishes from The Alders Team
Only downside were the showers which work on a push button that you need keep pushing to maintain a flow and, no temp control; a little hot for my liking.Staff/owners very friendly and helpful and facilities were great. On site cafe is very pleasant, the sausage rolls were especially delicious! The Bluebell Inn, just a few mins walk from the site is excellent for food.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave your kind feedback. It all helps us to keep improving the service! We hope you find the time to visit us again.Best Wishes from The Alders Team

From the friendly welcome to the pristine site and from the generous pitches to the spotless toilet blocks, this is one of the best sites we've stayed on in the UK and better than many in Europe - quiet, convenient with staff who are always there to help, absolutely first class ! D.T.
