Lovely welcoming staff

It was our first visit to the Alders and the staff were very welcoming on arrival . The park is large with very big flat pitches and the facilities on site are very clean. It’s an easy walk into Alne to the Bluebell where we had food on our first night . The food was very good but pricy. My husband had lamb and I had steak pie and a couple of drinks each which cost around £80.00 . It’s more of a restaurant than a pub. The following day we got a bus into York which was fine but the busses finish early so we ended up in Easingwold and had to get a taxi back at £13.00. Because of this it’s not somewhere we would visit regularly as having a motorhome we don’t have transport and there isn’t enough for us in the area . We prefer to be within walking distance of a town with pubs and shops . I don’t have any negative points about the park but it doesn’t tick all our boxes , if you’re not wanting shops and pubs then it’s a great site.

Spacious peacefully surroundings

Very friendly helpfully staff, nice to be escorted to pitch. Lots of space, liked the smaller bay areas didn't feel too cramped.Good location, lovely cafe at entrance can recommend the cakes.Liked the key fob entry for security. One shower block was a little older and looked a bit tired, needed regrouping etc and although there was a mop and bucket in each cubicle it was dry. OK to mop splashes but would have liked some disinfectant. All others facilities excellent, laundry and washing up areas clean

A lovely location

The Alders was recommended to me by my parents who stayed in their touring caravan for a couple of nights. They told me about the pods that The Alders have on site. I usually camp in a tent with my dogs, so a pod sounded like luxury. I booked a dog friendly pod for two nights in September, the booking was easy, a deposit was taken and following payments were easily done online. I was welcomed on arrival and I decided to make use of the cafe which is situated at the entrance. The food and drinks were really nice and great value. The owners and Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they show you where to park on site and where the facilities are etc. The pods are separate from the caravans. There's plenty of space between pods and a communal shelter with solar lights. Facilities were very clean and well looked after. The only thing I could suggest is that there are dog hitching points near the facilities (clips, hooks or a ring). Otherwise the whole experience was amazing. Thank y
