Alders is a quiet site, with spacious pitches and plenty of space for children to play. It is in a good location for the park and ride into York, with its own little cafe and shop and nearby veg stall.The clean showers are a very generous size and it was no problem to extend our stay by an extra day.

Third year here of our family reunion camp. Cracking site!

I stayed in my tent on my own for three nights during August. I spent most of my daytime visiting a local nature reserve. My tent in The Alders was a base that I returned to and relaxed in in the evenings. Owls, a heron, grasshoppers and rabbits - all welcome! Plus an amazingly strong-voiced cow, on occasion. Beautiful, varied view, not mountains or even hills,, but enjoyable to look out on. Paul was exceptionally friendly, helpful and efficient; personable without being intrusive. Site was very secure. Site had more accommodations on it than were apparent. There were separate 'compartments' containing about 10 accommodations, each with its own space and each compartment sheltered subtly from the others, so lots of privacy even though quite a big site (?). Toilets, washing up area, rubbish bin area (that I used) immaculate and under-used. I paid £108 for three nights which I think is excellent value given all the above. Any negatives? No.

Been to the Alders many times, always friendly with lovely facilities. Will be back again soon!

Rachel and John were so welcoming. The surrounding area in the campsite is so beautifully kept and has a calming influence. Pod was everything we expected and to toilet blocks are excellent and spotless.This was our second visit and there will be more

Quite simply this was a lovely quiet, calm campsite. Very friendly, clean and well maintained.Showers and toilets excellent.(They had some self contained unisex shower rooms which were nice and spacious, which makes a nice change.)The only downside was we were only staying for one night!Would definitely look to stay here again when coming back this way.

We have just returned from a weekend stay at the Alders. What more can I say than WOW! The staff are beyond friendly and happy to help, the facilities are top notch and clean, the overall experience was a 10/10. I will be returning year after year to stay with the family!

Beautifull location, pleasant reception and assistance. Sanitary very good. There is a little shop and bar. Great!
