The Alders has been developed on historic parkland on a working farm so that visitors can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Yorkshire countryside. The Alders is ideally located to explore the many attractions and beautiful areas in North Yorkshire. With the park's space and tranquility of the landscaped parkland it provides a beautiful environment for your stay.
The Alders have a range of Hard Standing and Grass pitches available with electric hook-up, suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans. The park also offers the opportunity to stay in your very own pod, they are located in their own landscaped area with plenty of space and privacy. Pods offer visitors the freedom and ambience of traditional camping whilst giving you a higher level of privacy and security and more comfort both inside and out. Alternatively pitches are available for you to bring your own tent.
The Alders has been carefully developed to ensure privacy through internal landscape and imaginative design. Spacious bays housing groups of caravans named after Yorkshire's famous Abbeys and Dales provide privacy with space. Our two shower blocks are centrally located for ease of access to all.
Our standard pod is perfect for families and sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 small children.
The Pod offers you the freedom & ambience of traditional camping whilst giving you a higher level of privacy and security and more comfort both inside & out. Outside there is a decked area at the entrance for dining al fresco, chilling out or if the weather allows-sunbathing! You need to bring everything you normally would for camping apart from the tent.

Great as ever. Great price. Great location. Great staff. Great facilities
Fantastic weekend, highly recommend a visit Regards Carly & Neil
One of our favourite sites. We’ve camped here with a tent and had a seasonal pitch here with our caravan for a few years and now we keep returning to The Alders at least once or twice a year since we decided to tour with our caravan. We just love the feeling of the site. It’s always well maintained and has two nice clean toilet/shower blocks. It’s very centrally located to either drive back into Thirsk for a nice wander around or drive past Alne and go to Clifton Moor for a bit of retail therapy. Easingwold is a lovely little place to have a mooch around aswell. Well worth a visit
Very friendly staff site well spread didn’t feel on top of each other will definitely be returning
This is the second time we have stayed are The Alders. Quiet campsite, excellent facilities. Large pitches.
A friendly greeting as always from the moment you arrive, all the staff make you feel welcome, the cafe is lovely to sit and enjoy a slice of homemade cake and a cuppa. The pitches are spacious and you never feel overcrowded even when the site is busy. Although the amenities block can get a queue at peak times. The bakery van at the village hall on Saturday morning is a must! But the best thing is the peace and quiet, just the birdsong and rustle of the trees. We will be back.
Lovely site that is well kept with excellent, clean facilities. Plenty of room between the individual sites giving a feeling of space. Friendly staff too. Spot on.
Welcome from staff was absolutely first class. Quick check in, then escorted to pitch. Level pitch, well spaced from neighbours. Slightly tricky approach through village but no real problem. It's worth noting that the actual pitches are some distance from the site entrance, necessitating a pretty10 minute walk to the village. May be a bit tricky for less mobile guests.Home Farm has excellent café and small shop at the site entrance selling mainly farm's own produce, frozen and fresh. Lamb chops and rump steam excellent quality and good price.Alne itself is a pretty village with a great pub, The Bluebell. Great service, food and beer.Overall, this is an outstanding campsite which we will certainly use in the future.
My boys and I absolutely love staying in the pods at The Alders. The scenery is so beautiful and the facilities are fantastic. The toilets and showers are kept to a very high standard. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We are planning another trip again soon!
We had a lovely short break at The Alders. The campsite is in a peaceful area, so it's ideal if you want a quiet break away. The night sky is beautiful when it gets dark; you see plenty of stars. We stayed in one of the pods, which was equipped with a lamp and electric heater. You have to bring all your other camping equipment e.g. airbeds & bedding. It was perfect for us + a fair bit warmer than a tent! The toilet blocks are modern and kept very clean. Each shower cubicle is private & completely separate from others. They were easy to use and generous with space. There are facilities to do your washing and ironing with a small charge, although we never tried these. The campsite in general is kept clean and tidy. All staff we encountered were very friendly & helpful, from arrival up until check out. There's a small cafe next to reception. We ate there a couple of times and enjoyed the food. All in all, we would recommend this campsite to anyone wanting a peaceful trip away.
