Just Perfect....

Having stayed here before and enjoyed it I wasn't disappointed. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the site is so well set out to ensure peace and quiet. Lovely views and an abundance of walks for my dogs. The facilities were clean and modern and well looked after. I look forward to visiting again in the new year. I didn't use the cafe as this was such a short visit but the food and service were first class during my last stay.

Lovely peaceful site.

I stayed in a camping pod. The small heater was very welcome and the pod was cosy and very clean. The whole site was well laid out and very tidy. The shower and toilet block was spotless. There was so much to do in the area, especially as the site is in a quiet village. I would have loved more time to explore. I would recommend the site to anyone who wants to stay in a calm, well looked after site. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

We love staying at The Alders. The campsite is extremely peaceful and in a lovely village. The coffee shop is a great addition selling quality locally sourced produce. There is also a local bakers van at the village hall every Saturday morning offering fresh bread. The honesty cart in the village selling fresh fruit and vegetables is adorably. All the staff on the site are lovely and really helpful.

Peace and tranquility

Appleby, Karen - 19/10/2025

The Alders campsite is situated in a quaint village and on an active farm which adds to the unique atmosphere. It’s tranquil with each area separated by trees and pathway It’s a haven for wildlife and birds. The amenities are clean and warm. I love having toilet, shower and wash hand basin in the same cubicle. There is a cafe just on site which does the most delicious cakes and caters for gluten free. The site staff are lovely people, very helpful. The cows are very well behaved when walking out through the farm even with dogs. There are some great walks nearby, it’s close to York and Thirsk I look forward to our next stay.

Beautiful location

Turpin, Susan - 09/10/2025

A really well maintained beautiful site in a stunning village surrounded by countryside. The pitches are spacious and well laid out with shelter from hedges and trees. A lovely little cafe for breakfasts, lunches, coffee is very useful. The site staff are incredibly helpful and considerate. We were only there for two quiet nights so only used one shower block. Whilst very clean the push shower controls were a bit of a nuisance as they only gave you about ten seconds of water so you are constantly pushing the knob. However, although a little pricey the site is well worth a visit and a good location for exploring the area.
