The Alders has been developed on historic parkland on a working farm so that visitors can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Yorkshire countryside. The Alders is ideally located to explore the many attractions and beautiful areas in North Yorkshire. With the park's space and tranquility of the landscaped parkland it provides a beautiful environment for your stay.
The Alders have a range of Hard Standing and Grass pitches available with electric hook-up, suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans. The park also offers the opportunity to stay in your very own pod, they are located in their own landscaped area with plenty of space and privacy. Pods offer visitors the freedom and ambience of traditional camping whilst giving you a higher level of privacy and security and more comfort both inside and out. Alternatively pitches are available for you to bring your own tent.
The Alders has been carefully developed to ensure privacy through internal landscape and imaginative design. Spacious bays housing groups of caravans named after Yorkshire's famous Abbeys and Dales provide privacy with space. Our two shower blocks are centrally located for ease of access to all.
Our standard pod is perfect for families and sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 small children.
The Pod offers you the freedom & ambience of traditional camping whilst giving you a higher level of privacy and security and more comfort both inside & out. Outside there is a decked area at the entrance for dining al fresco, chilling out or if the weather allows-sunbathing! You need to bring everything you normally would for camping apart from the tent.

Always a friendly welcome at this site. The lovely café serves the most delicious cakes and there's a good selection of farm produce to buy.The site is secure and spacious, the toilets are clean and private with a toilet in the same room as the shower. The bus stop to York, in one direction, or Thirsk, in the other, is convenient ( outside the Bluebell inn/ restaurant.). On the way to Thirsk, the bus stops off in a nice looking town( Easingwold) with a couple of cafés and pubs. This was our second stay here and we'll definitely be back.
We were on your site in the course of about 25 years for the third time .Not many campsites we have visited in the course of 44 years caravan ing so much as yours. The region the atmosphere every thing is on his place! We can safely cycle in the surroundings, look how the village man play cricket! Wondering the black anges cattle! The first time we were on your site was just before the jubilee of queen Elisabeth II and I awake in the morning because of the roaring sound of RollsRoyce Merlin engines Super !!!
what a place, beautiful outlook a very friendly welcome and we are back again. This was our second visit but we will certainly be returning again, the local pub the Bluebell serves tasty food and is only a short walk away. The pitches are very well spaced and you can just let your waste water soak away into the hedge.
We had a really good stay at The Alders, the disabled facilities are fantastic, I was able to drive my scooter straight into the disabled bathroom, it was well equipped, with shower seat and plenty hand rails. I was able to sit on my scooter at the washing up facility too, the campsite is completely accessible.Camping areas are very spacious and not side by side, you have your own space and feels very private and quiet, but very friendly.Dogs are welcome but need to be on a lead at all times but lots of nearby places to exercise them. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. Everywhere is so clean and tidy.We would really recommend The Alders, we had a wonderful stay!
We stayed with grandchildren over the bank holiday, the site was clean with good spacious hot showers. The pitches were spaced out with areas for children to play in front as all parked in a half moon. Paul the site man was lovely and very helpful and the owners were also lovely. There is a cafe/shop on site we wish it had sold some essentials but it was bank holiday so they may have run out.Lots of wildlife and farm animals and we sat at night watching the bats. The village had playground and restaurant, there was a bus stop with regular buses to York, £3 absolute bargain. We will definitely come again.
Lovely well kept site in a nice location with easy access to north Yorkshire Moors. Plenty of space for caravan and awning and lovely clean and well thought out facilities. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Spot on.
All very good.Friendly helpful staff.Cafe very good.Blue Bell excellent.Only slight negative - not very user friendly camper van waste water site.
This was my third time staying in the pods with my boys and the first time I brought friends and their kids. We all absolutely love The Alders. The pod area is a beautiful, quiet space and we were made to feel so welcome by the owners. My friends (frequent campers) couldnt believe how great the toilets and showers were, always so clean. We didn’t leave the campsite as we BBQ’d both nights and brought lots of activities for the kids to do.
We absolutely love Alders . Super friendly , perfect setting … room to pitch and play Love that everyone isn’t crammed inFriendly staff always welcoming Supper little cafe on site, best homemade sausage rolls and cake Love that there is no play park or pub Enjoy watching the cricket at a weekend Clean toilets and showers , plenty of hot water Wouldn’t change a thing about it
Every aspect of The Alders was superb.Friendly, attentive and helpful staff.Excellent, clean facilities.Great cafe. Can't wait to return.
