Studfold Caravan & Camping Park

4.6 (92 reviews)

Unforgettable holidays are made at award-winning Studfold in the Yorkshire Dales. This is camping, glamping and caravanning at its best. Nestled in the emerald-green patchwork of the Yorkshire Dales near Pateley Bridge, you’ll enjoy breath-taking views, fantastic amenities and the freedom to relax with extra-wide pitches. There’s a warm, good old-fashioned Yorkshire welcome too.

There is a warm Dales welcome waiting for you at Studfold caravan, camping and glamping park. Whether you’re a family with children, couple, or sole adventurer, you’ll love the Nidderdale Experience. There’s so much to enjoy, and wonderful surroundings to relax in.

We have 38 extra large, flat, well-drained grass pitches for tents, caravans, camper vans and motorhomes, 26 with electric hook-up. And we have four locally made, exciting glamping pods, situated at the edge of the field, each able to sleep a family of four (two adults and two children), or a maximum of three adults. The pitches and glamping pods are organised for maximum space and comfort for all, and are very near to the large, level play area for children, perfect for ball games and running around. There is also access to the beck trickling alongside the campsite where children love to play and build dams. Fun for the little ones too, but they will need an adult with them.

Our outstanding facilities include electric hook ups, sparkling-clean toilet and shower block, as well as undercover cooking and socialising shelter (invaluable in wet weather), fire pits and WIFI vouchers. We also have the wonderful Nidderdale Way Cafe run by Julia, where you can enjoy an easy, delicious breakfast, as well as homemade snacks and treats throughout the day (weekends and local school holidays only).

What sets Studfold apart from other sites is that there is so much to do, on and off the site. Our famous Adventure Trail, renowned for its fairies and celebration of all things nature is part of Studfold, and is a fantastic family attraction, right on your caravan, tent or pod doorstep! If you book the Trail online as part of your stay you will get 2 days of entry for the price of 1 (dependent on the Trail being open).

The Lost Earth Adventures activities are also readily available. And there are many beautiful walks, of all ability levels, starting from Studfold. You’ll find an amazing Yorkshire Dales base at Studfold for exploring Nidderdale and North Yorkshire.

Lovely family break

Baldwinson, Katharine - 08/06/2024

We booked Studfold last minute after our booking in Whitby got cancelled due to flooding. The site and facilities were lovely and clean in beautiful surroundings. All of the staff that we encountered were really helpful and friendly. We really appreciated being close to the play area on the bottom field, our children (age 8 &5) made good use of this. The site is right next to the river and is mostly well fenced on that side but there are gaps where you can get through - this might be a consideration if you have a young child who likes to take themselves off on adventures! The on site adventure trail was well worth the money and took up a good chunk of our time on the Saturday. Patley Bridge is not too far away for food shopping and chip shop but apart from that there isn’t much else around. You may struggle to fill a week if you are the type of family who likes to be off on trips every day. *IDEAL* for a peaceful short trip. We will be back. Thank you for rescuing our half term!

The view at the camping site is spectacular. We are surrounded by nature. Staff are really helpful. The site is very clean specially the toilets they are spotless. The only thing is there is not signal at the site that you need to buy your internet at the reception but few yards away you can get a signal don't know why? Anyway overall ill give it a 8star.

Clean and nice location

Godley, Elizabeth - 06/06/2024

The site is in a great location and the facilities were clean. It wasn’t too busy too. The midges in early evening were a bit of a nuisance though.Beautiful countryside with some good walking available.Phone signals though are poor unless you are with EE. Internet passes can be purchased to use the campsite WiFi. Overall a nice place!

Lovely quiet family site with great facilities.

Coulson, Sharon - 04/06/2024

We recently spent 4 days here and loveld the whole experience (except pitching in torrential rain). Lovely clean site with great facilities. Fantastic shower block with seperate area for drying which made showering children much easier than previous experiences. The trail was brilliant, our 5 and 7 year old daughters really enjoyed it. Its very well thought out and kept them engaged throughout the whole walk.Have already booked to return in August.

Excellent campsite and staff

Bradshaw, Alice - 02/06/2024

We loved our stay here. Everyone was welcoming and it felt safe. We did the adventure trail but otherwise used it as a base to explore the area. We were in the second field so a bit of a trek to the toilet and wash area but the bonus was being directly opposite the play area for the kids. My kids want to return next year!

A lovely gem of a campsite

Macauley, Sarah - 28/05/2024

This was our 4th annual return to Studfold with our friends and we love it here. The children always have an amazing time. The campsite itself is adjacent to the gorge which the children can access for a paddle and to explore. We always do the Fairy Trail which leads through beautiful countryside; the children love the activities and park areas. How Stean Gorge Cafe is within walking distance for passing any rainey spells and the activity centre there offers an array of activities for the more adventurous. It's a lovely short drive to Pateley Bridge and there are plenty of other sites to explore in the area. The campsite itself has good facilities. The bathrooms are always clean. There is no phone signal on many networks so you must buy WiFi passes. However this is restricted to data download per day. The WiFi access could do with improving given the phone signals are so bad, especially to attract those who are self employed.Overall, a great place to stay and we will be back.
