As you turn through the gates at Skelwith Fold the magical red road, winding to the park reception, is canopied by trees and bordered by woodland where you’ll likely catch a glimpse of resident wildlife, such as roe deer, woodpeckers, and if you’re lucky, even a red squirrel.

Skelwith Fold's 120 touring pitches for Caravan and Motorhome holidays are scattered throughout a 130-acre woodland site, offering guests the opportunity to cohabit with wildlife, woodland, wetland and fell habitats found within the caravan sites boundaries.

The park offer self-contained Hideaways which are located in one of the park’s quietest and most wildlife-friendly spots. For those wanting a unique couples getaway, the Hideaways provide the perfect retreat for a few days.

Although Skelwith Fold houses over 400 pitches it has the feel of a much smaller park – the various accommodation areas have been carefully and sympathetically set out in small woodland glades, settled amongst natural undulating features, creating a sense of quiet and intimacy.

We had one of the smallest pitches just for SWB campervan… perfectly adequate with EHU. Close to the shower / toilet block which I must say are spotless… the whole site is beautifully kept, wardens were friendly play area (we don’t have kids) looked amazing - the best I’ve seen and we’ve been in a lot of sites over the last 18 years since we bought our first camper. We will be back. Thank you..

Beautiful location, excellent campsite, will be back!

McKiernan, Clare - 03/06/2023

The campsite was very well maintained with excellent shower and toilet facilities. They were very clean. Whilst the campsite itself was large it was easy to find your way around and the touring pitches provided plenty of space (we were on a standard pitch in a camper van).It also felt very secure, with campsite wardens visible at regular times. The staff in the shop were really helpful and went above and beyond to help me with advice about walks in the local area. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

Wow!! From the moment we arrived to the beautiful site we had an amazing time. Everyone is so friendly from the staff to other tourists. We stayed in the safari tent with a 10year old and 4 year old. They loved every moment of it. We loved venturing down to the play area where my daughter enjoyed running around the parks while my son was as playing football. Beautiful walks around the camp site to unwind after a busy day. The safari tent was clean and very comfortable was lovely to wake up to the birds singing away. Definitely returning as we had 2 very upset children leaving the site and they still beg us to go back.

We went to support the Windermere Marathon and found the area itself so beautiful. The site was very well kept and very pretty but very very hilly. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Facilities were well kept and clean. Sadly they changed the PIN number on the shower block and failed to her us know this. Shop was well stocked and fair prices too. Bus route st end of camp site . Enjoyable stay.
