As you turn through the gates at Skelwith Fold the magical red road, winding to the park reception, is canopied by trees and bordered by woodland where you’ll likely catch a glimpse of resident wildlife, such as roe deer, woodpeckers, and if you’re lucky, even a red squirrel.

Skelwith Fold's 120 touring pitches for Caravan and Motorhome holidays are scattered throughout a 130-acre woodland site, offering guests the opportunity to cohabit with wildlife, woodland, wetland and fell habitats found within the caravan sites boundaries.

The park offer self-contained Hideaways which are located in one of the park’s quietest and most wildlife-friendly spots. For those wanting a unique couples getaway, the Hideaways provide the perfect retreat for a few days.

Although Skelwith Fold houses over 400 pitches it has the feel of a much smaller park – the various accommodation areas have been carefully and sympathetically set out in small woodland glades, settled amongst natural undulating features, creating a sense of quiet and intimacy.

Number Three Skelwith Fold is very comfortable and spacious, with a large kitchen and dining space downstairs and wide open living room on the first floor. Up to six people can stay between the three generously sized double bedrooms – two of which enjoy full modern en-suite bathroom facilities while the third is located across from the main bathroom.

Feedback

Smith, Alison - 22/09/2022

Appeared to be a lovely site it was just unfortunate we visited whilst comprehensive work was being done to the roads on entrance too and within the site itself which caused quite a bit of disruption. I accept repairs had to be made but think we should have been notified beforehand as the site was extremely noisy with the machinery that was being used to make the repairs and did not give us the peace and tranquillity we were expecting. That said the staff were extremely friendly, the shop was well stocked and the location ideal for exploring the area.

The site is first class. Our only problem was that when we wanted to use it at 9 in the morning before going out They had closed them for demisting. We have had a caravan for over 40 years and it is the first site that has closed the facility before 11am. We paid for premium site!

Ray, Bob - 21/09/2022

We've got a campervan and normally don't pick a large site, but how we have had our minds changed. We love the site, friendly staff and the ability of finding the spot we want once we arrived.Shower block is great, warm with hot water and showers nice and cleanOutside there is plenty of space for washing up - remember if you don't bring a plug, then you will need something to create a plug or bring a washing up bowl.Top tip, check out the morning croissants (order the day before) and the sausages / beef burgersWe'll be back and a shame you're not open over Christmas, otherwise we would be escaping heremany thanks

First stay

Preston, Diane - 21/09/2022

Great location. Site really well looked after. Loved the Quiet. Even in busy touring area we felt we had privacy and quiet. Good facilities (maybe more showers and toilets needed in block?). Sure there'll be lots of walks which we'll discover next time. Great that you can catch the bus at the entrance to the site. Great that you can talk to a receptionist who is helpful and can talk you through the options. We'll be back.
