Situated in the heart of Wasdale, arguably Cumbria’s most majestic valley, Church Stile Holiday Park and Campsite offers visitors the most spectacular location from which to explore and enjoy the Lake District.
We offer a diverse range of family friendly options for your stay including camping pitches, electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and campervans, static caravans to rent, static caravans to buy, or why not try ‘glamping’ and stay in one of our traditional Shepherd’s Huts combining luxury camping with an age-old custom.
Nestling in an idyllic oak woodland setting on a traditional Lakeland sheep farm, the area is a haven for wildlife with stunning views to the mountains. Yet the pretty village of Nether Wasdale with its 2 wonderful country inns serving hearty meals and fine ales, is only a two minute stroll away.
Wasdale is home to England’s deepest lake, highest mountain and smallest church and yet the wonderful beaches on Cumbria’s coastline are only a few miles distant. Whether you wish to simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt valley or take advantage of the many opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling and kayaking or visit some of West Cumbria’s many attractions, Church Stile is your perfect location.

First impressions on arrival of the property we were quite pleased.Very remote even though a shop is next door.Disappointed that there was no welcome pack, just a voucher for a coffee at the shop. We found no milk locally so had to drive half an hour to find some, took the edge off the venue as we'd just driven 2 and a half hrs to get there, the shop was unable to provide any either which was a surprise. Overall it was a great stay let down by simple lack of giving the place a proper hoovering and clean. Cobwebs aplenty which on the grand scale of things wouldn't take much to Hoover up, again taking the edge of the venue. It's unlikely to be on my list as a returning property due to the lack of the owners taking care that the house was presentable to rent.
The scenery is amazing !! The staff are lovely, the lady at the shop was really lovely and helpful. The caravan was nice and very clean although we needed to make the sofa into a bed and that could have done with a clean under clearly not been used in a while, we found it easier to make beds on the sofa for the extra two and other than that the caravan was very clean. They have a great park on-site and football nets which pleased my sons and grandson. There is a pub within five minutes walk they sell great food it’s shame they don’t do a children’s menu or offer smaller orations on the adult meals but still we managed. Muncaster castle is close by and a great place to visit with the kids 🤩 amazing walks and we went to two nice beach’s st bees and seascale. We also did the puzzle place in Keswick. Great caravan site, lovely staff amazing scenery.
We had a lovely family holiday in Irt cottage. The cottage was cosy well equipped and very comfortable. We were grateful of a generous supply of logs for the burner and the staff that assisted us and welcomed us were a delight and much appreciated. The adjacent shop and cafe were great lovely food and great service Thank you all
Heating didn't work on my first night in the static but was sorted out quickly the next day by the very helpful and apologetic staff. Nice site in a beautiful area for walking.
First time staying in a static van. I usually camp for short stays with EHU but wanted a full week. We visited after peak summer season; my partner has never been to the area & is a relatively novice camper. I think a week in a tent would be too much for him especially during a potentially very soggy October. So I decided on more comfort, real bed, full kitchen & lounge area.Due to an unexpected health issue with our dog we needed to amend the booking just days before arrival. The owners were incredibly flexible, patient & understanding throughout.Everyone we spoke to were exceptionally welcoming & friendly offering advice on places to go & ensured we got the most out our stay. The stunning views of Scarfell Pike from Wastwater are a short walk away. The van was really well equipped, incredibly clean & very warm during a cold snap.Already booked for next year as we had such a wonderful time

Showers were not the best, shop empty. Staff was abit rude at first We left and went else where. Over priced pitches £80 for two days ended up paying.
Lovely peaceful campsite in a lovely woodland setting. Facilities very clean and spacious.Wi-Fi at the shop. Will definitely returnIf you want to visit the local eateries you must book we were turned away for food as fully booked. Maybe an odd light around the site it’s very dark visiting the washrooms at night.
I used to camp at Church Stile years ago on school trips and wow has it changed! We stayed in a pod and were pleasantly surprised at the size, supply of plug sockets and heater.Shower block was good and plenty of hot waterStaff were very friendly and helpfulThank youOnly suggestion might be a couple more hooks for clothing?
Really enjoyed my stay. Walkable to Wastwater, and 200 yards from microbrewery and pub. Toilet block very clean, showers excellent. Little farm shop, which is only place to get WiFi, and no phone signal on site.
