Set in the heart of Wasdale, considered by many as Cumbria's most magnificent valley, Church Stile Farm & Holiday Park provides guests with an exceptional setting to discover and savour the raw beauty of the Lake District. This idyllic retreat is more than just a destination; it's a haven for those seeking a perfect blend of nature, comfort, and adventure. At Church Stile, the team pride themselves on creating a family-friendly environment that caters to all, providing an array of accommodation options, including camping, glamping, and self-catering holidays.

Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Wasdale, arguably Cumbria’s most majestic valley, Church Stile Farm offers a unique opportunity for visitors and guests to reconnect with nature while enjoying the modern comforts and conveniences that make for an unforgettable getaway.

The diverse options for stays include camping pitches, electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and campervans, static caravans to rent, and glamping in one of Church Stile's traditional Shepherd’s Huts that combine luxury camping with an age-old custom.

With stunning views to the Screes mountain range, the Church Stile site covers about 7 acres in total and provides a large level camping ground for pitches for up to 85 tents.

Shepherd’s Huts reflect the style of a 19th century Victorian hut. They provide a wonderful alternative to camping in a tent. Romantic and cosy, Shepherd’s Huts are the perfect place to snuggle up after a day enjoying the fresh Cumbrian air.

Church Stile's Holiday Caravans are accessible for weekly rental or brief getaways at rates tailored to suit all budgets. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the familiar comforts of a home away from home within the fully equipped caravans, situated in one of the nation's most picturesque regions.

Church Stile Farm & Holiday Park is fully equipped with all the modern amenities you expect to find at a stylish camping ground. Including a children's play area with swings and climbing frames, picnic tables, washroom facilities.

The onsite reception building is home to a little farm shop that is stocked with everyday essentials such as bread, baked beans, local milk and eggs. It also stocks the items that guests may have forgotten such as tin openers, toothbrushes and tent pegs. There is a small range of camping gear also available including walking poles, camping gas, chairs, socks, etc.

We also stock some local produce such as Unsworth pies, Appleby Creamery cheeses; Woodall's bacon and sausages; not to mention Mawson's ice cream which is a well deserved treat after a long walk on the fells.

The shop serves tea & coffee, homemade cakes and takes orders for packed lunches. There is outdoor covered seating provided with WiFi available.

Wasdale boasts England's deepest lake, highest mountain, and smallest church and yet, the beautiful beaches along Cumbria's coastline are just a short distance away. Whether you seek the serenity of this untouched valley or want to explore various activities such as walking, climbing, cycling, and kayaking, or visit the numerous attractions in West Cumbria, Church Stile is the ideal destination for you.

A grea place to stay with a pub just outside of the gate. The most silent campingplace we have been to. Onsite shop with all the last minute stuff you forgot to take. Helpfull staff who layed out a nice walk for us.

Great site surrounded by great scenery. Narrow roads to site but no problem in the motorhome. Staff great and facilities good and clean despite the site being full. WIFI and phone signal limited but that's a bonus for us. Good value for money. Local village 100m away with good pubs, also the Sawmill Centre good food and location -400m away. Paddleboarding etc on the lake and plenty of fell walking to fill your days :)

Lovely site with stunning scenery, Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return!

Neasham, Jill - 17/05/2024

Lovely positioned site with large pitches for motorhome. Staff very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Site was very busy with the local beer festival at the Strands Inn opposite however, it was quiet and safe. It is very clean and well kept and there is a well stocked shop which is not too over priced. There is even a cafe at the reception selling a range of local snacks etc. Would definitely return and have booked for next year already!

Disappointed this time

Richardson, Chelsea - 15/05/2024

We have stayed here atleast once a year for about 5 years and have always had a lovey stay hence retuning so much. This time was completely different I dont know if its just new staff or the place as been brought by someone else but on arrival I was being checked in and the man doing it said this is your number plate? To which I replied it wasn’t but he insisted that plate was booked online, it definitely wasn’t as this was a 2023 plate car to which I have never owner a car that new, after that he seemed to be stroppy, he said 2 adult and 2 pets , again it should have been 3 pets to which his response was well we only except 2 I guess it’s to late to send it back now….. bearing in mind we had drive all the way from Suffolk, I said i have emails confirming that I could bring 3 and pay on arrival, my 3 dogs were better better behaved then people who just had 1 we had an aggressive dog behind us that was snarling and barking all through the night

Response from the owner

17 May 2024

We are sorry to read that you felt less than welcome when checking in. We are still a family-owned site, and pride ourselves on our friendly staff, however, it appears on this occasion we got it wrong. We have reviewed and revisited our staff training so that this doesn't happen in the future and thank you for your feedback. We hope the rest of your stay with us was better than its start.
