Good facilities and a great cafe.

Exclent site,clean tidy with good facilities.

Great place. We stayed for two nights in August. The place is really nice with a great restaurant and bar. The amenities are ok and the views are fantastic. My only criticism is the actual pitch we had was on a very slight incline and bumpy as if they'd buried a pipe in the past and not filled it in level. Hence the missing star

Always a positive experience. Staff are very helpful, the campsite is clean and well organised.The food in the restaurant is fabulous. The location is great !

We recently had our 3rd beak at Lordstones in a pod. As always the pod was clean,equipped with everything we needed. The pod village is so peaceful. There was only us in the village at the time so it felt like there was only us for miles around. The facilities are clean. The staff in both the shop and the restaurant couldn't be more helpful and attentive. The breakfast is lovely and sets you up for a day of lovely walks in the area. We would highly recommend

Our second visit to the camping pods.Very quiet but the pods are looking a little run down now Parking was difficult during the day.Ponds need cleaning out.We weren't aware of the £10 key deposit and had get get it refunded the night before we left as no provision in place for if you want to leave before 0900

Second visit to lordstones this year, very spacious private pitches, clean facilities.We arrived when storm Lilian was at her worst and wasn’t sure if we would be able to pitch however on arrival the trees blocked the wind and made it perfect pitching conditions. One problem this time however was the path to the facilities has no lighting we noticed in May there where flood lights along the path this time absolutely no lighting. Even 10pm was absolutely pitch black.

we have stayed here a few time now, but this was our first at the woodland retreat camping area. while its fine ! the ground is particularly soft. this makes pitching very easy but the wind will pull pegs out just as easy !! also there is no direct car access so unloading etc means carrying your gear a short walk. i wouldn't like to do this in not perfect weather !!other than that, it was the usual, idealist and stunning surroundings with a comprehensive bar and restaurant. the facilities are simply second to non ! thanks and hope to be back soon

Perfect location for hikers on the Cleveland Way. Staff was super nice. The Shop had more tourist attraction stuff than essentials for campers. Check-In times are not so flexible as you have to arrive in time the shop is open. Facilities were nice and clean.

Staff in the shop and restaurant are first class, so friendly and helpful even when clearly very busy - can’t fault them. We stayed in a dog friendly camping pod (2 adults, 2 kids 14 & 11, and dog) which was clean and had a fairly decent welcome pack. The setting of all the pods is beautiful and feels really private, with the advantage of being a couple of minutes walk from the restaurant (check opening times if you want to eat there). The weather was kind to us so that helped with the lack of indoor space in the pod, it’d be fine with younger children. Loved the wood burner which made the pod very cosy in the evening - had to open doors and windows to cool down a bit!! The only criticism is that the mattress on the bed has seen better days, and the sofa bed is really uncomfortable to sleep on, they both definitely need replacing!
