What a lovely place the staff was very friendly the little shop was a gem selling ice cream, and value for money on the pitch.Tow nice pubs very close to the site the gem to this site is the lovely views and the walks and cycling straight on to the tissington trail,
Lovely site, well presented and clean
Very slight tilt to the field giving good run off as there had been a fair bit of rain, but no difficulties pitching tent or wet patches, good distance to the shop/ bathroom block. Fresh milk was lovely, only wish it took card payments, but tokens are a good option. Had a lovely time staying and will definitely be coming again.
We have now been to Pomeroy three times over the last few years, and have always had a very enjoyable stay. Friendly staff, well maintained site, and a modern, clean toilet block make this a great place to stay. There are plenty of amazing walks nearby. This time we walked the Dragon's Back (directly from the site) and a circular walk through Millers Dale and Chee Dale (a short drive away). Previously we have taken our bikes and cycled High Peak and Tissington trails. The site has direct access to the trail, which makes this really easy. It also means we can enjoy a traffic-free cycle to the Royal Oak in Hurdlow for an excellent evening meal when we don't fancy barbecuing.
Lovely quiet site, children are safe to play.Good shop selling essentials and ice cream made on site. The facilities are excellent the toilet shower block is very modern and very clean, shower cubicles are very spacious. There's no play area for kids just a field for ball games. Maybe they will add one in future.Access to high peak trail. There is also a takeaway van on site but was not well advertised.Good place to camp for weekends. We would definitely stay again
Our first time staying here and it did not disappoint! A great family campsite. The booking system was very easy and great to book our own pitch. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were always kept clean and the onsite petting farm, fresh milk and ice cream is a bonus!Only thing that put us off (which is not associated to the site so ive not marked them down) is that theres a school field that shares the facilities. The school staying who stayed during our stay completely trashed the facilities. Left their rubbish every where, clothes everywhere like it was their bedroom and tripped the electrics in the male side of the facilities from messing with the hand dryers due to the rain. They constantly passed our tent until 11pm swearing & shouting with my 2 year old trying to get to sleep inside. I did speak with a teacher about their behaviour and will definitely be checking with the site to see if any schools are staying before booking our next trip.
Spent two nights on a great site in a beautiful location. Facilities were first class, very clean. Plus fresh milk and delicious ice cream on site. Recommend to all.
Convenient location to access the High Peak Trail & Tissington Trail.Very friendly staff. Facilities kept clean and tidy. Lovely ice cream. Good price for a serviced hardstanding pitch, midweek and not yet high season. If we'd known that they accommodated the Duke of Edinburgh campers, we would have chosen a different week. The kids left the showers and hand driers full of grass clippings, where I expect that they attempted to dry shoes/socks etc. Very busy road to reach one pub if you were walking and a bit too far along the trail to reach the other closest pub.
Cannot fault this site, everywhere is so clean and the ice creams are amazing.Staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of the pitches have fresh water taps beside your tent or van.Good washer and dryer on site.My wife and i both really enjoyed the time there. If you dont have kids i would not go school hols.
Lovely site in a beautiful area. Lots of walks to do and local pubs to visit. The ice cream is amazing.
