Laneside Caravan Park

4.7 (566 reviews)

A beautiful riverside Holiday Park for caravans, motorhomes and tents. A 5 minute walk from the picturesque village of Hope, right in the heart of Derbyshire’s Peak District. Laneside is a sheltered site with mature trees, hedges and shrubs. Post and rail fences along with hedges separate the main pitching areas which helps Laneside to blend into its beautiful countryside surroundings.

Since 1950, Laneside Caravan Park has been a family-owned and family-run park that prides itself on providing quality holidays for guests in the stunning surroundings of the Hope Valley, in the heart of The Peak District.

On site, there are 20 all weather fully-serviced pitches and 28 hard standing electric pitches for caravans and motorhomes along with 40 grass electric pitches for caravans, campervans or tents.

They are well spaced and clearly marked for ease of pitching. All the electric pitches have a 12 to 16 amp supply. We ask that all appliances used should be camping and not domestic to avoid tripping out the electric.

There is a separate adult-only hardstanding and grass electric field which is handy for those who want to fully get away from it all and relax (please specify when booking to be pitched on this field).

The toilet and shower facilities come highly recommended by customers who some have compared them to the large sites in Europe, well known for their superb cleanliness and attention to detail.

The site has large centrally heated shower blocks with free hot showers plus huge family/disabled showers. Bright modern ambience, spacious individual changing with hair dryers, large makeup mirrors and vanity tops.

In the ladies toilets there are more hair dryers along with pay plugs for hair straighteners or other electrical goods, situated in the vanity area. There are also individual vanity cubicles with sink and mirrors for more privacy. A disabled shower and loo washroom with radar key access is also on site. Should guests not have key for this, they are available in the office.

The Laundry & Information room has two stack washer and dryers, stacks of local information and a second hand charity book stall. Just across from our amenity block is a sheltered sink area with 8 sinks for washing your pots. We also have some lower sinks for the children or wheelchair use.

Other facilities and activities available on site include WiFi across the site (two packages available), a boules court, football field and two table tennis tables (bats & balls available from the office).

The park has a designated small dogs area (please note this is not secure and only used for dogs doing their business). A large dog walking area is also provided which overlooks the football field. The site provides free dog bags for the convenience of guests.

A well-stocked shop is available on site and allows guests and visitors to purchase snacks, drinks, camping essentials and necessary supplies.

Being located in the heart of The Peak District, guests at Laneside can visit the Treak Cliff Cavern, a beautiful network of cave formations with a history steeped in rare Blue John mineral mining. Open for self-guided tours as well as ‘hands on’ experiences that take place across the year, this unique day out gives you a glimpse into the marvellous views of Derbyshire, as well as the stunning geological world beneath.

Midweek 1night camping without EHU

Greenwood, Steve - 23/07/2024

We’ve stayed at this site many times in the past and have always enjoyed it. Just me, my partner and a dog this time on an impromptu mid week stay over on our way to meet others in Derbyshire. Staff very helpfulToilet/shower facilities spot less. 2 x dodgy walking areas5 mins walk to nearest pub/restaurant/cafe/tea room40 mins walk from CastletonAn area for games (boules / table tennis)Have always loved this placeThe noise from the road and passing HGVs can become a little annoying at 4am but nothing a good set of ear plugs wouldnt rectify I guess 👍🏻

Friendly welcome, clean site with great facilities

Marsden, Jennifer - 23/07/2024

I took my 13 yr old Granddaughter for a 2 night stay in our Motorhome. The lady who welcomed us at reception was very helpful. We had a fully serviced pitch and there was plenty of space. There was boules and outdoor table tennis and we were able to borrow the bats and ball. The shop is well stocked and the site was quiet. Great toilets and showers. We walked into Castleton by the river (2 miles each way) in the evening, and the next day walked back to Castleton, up Cave Dale, Mam Tor and along the ridge before coming down inf Hope (one of the best walks in Derbyshire). There are plenty of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants and shops in Hope, Castleton (walking distance) and nearby Bamford and Hathersage. There are regular buses including the hop on hop off open top bus so easy to visit Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and many more of Derbyshires beautiful sights. Highly recommend

We had a lovely stay in our Campervan for a couple of nights. Had a nice walk into Castleton along the road but came back over the fields which was lovely! When we left we drove to Ladybower Reservoir and Derwent Reservoir which was beautiful!

Great site!!

Elliott, Paul - 22/07/2024

Lovely well kept site, with great facilities.Good size hardstanding pitches, with the added security of having your own passcode for the entrance/exit barriers.Really friendly and helpful staff.Breakfast van on a weekend was a nice addition, with good choice. The newer shower block has proper showers, while the older one has the push button ones, but both were nice and hot.Hope village is a five minute walk, with a couple of pubs, a shop, cafe and indian restaurant. Castleton is a short bus ride or about a 40 min walk away, with a good few pubs. There are loads of great walks in the area, and the railway station is nearby if you want to travel further afield. The only slight downside is that the site is next to a busy road,so there is some road noise.. but that certainly wouldn't put us off returning.

Great campsite

Colvin, Peter - 22/07/2024

We were late arriving due to delays on motorway 🙄 But were give easy instructions on what to do on arrival after hours. Having an individual code for the barrier is great. Pitch was spacious site was clean and well cared for. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Toilet block was clean and showers lovely and hot . Will definitely be coming back as it is a gray base to explore the Peak District with bus stop outside the gates and the railway station nearby. Would thoroughly recommend the Cury Cabin in Hope.

Laneside is a superb place to stay. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The facilities are excellent and the whole site is kept beautifully clean and tidy. The situation of the site makes it easy to explore the whole area with easy access to walks both from the site or only a short drive away.

Great Site , Well run , Happy Stay

Castleman, Brian - 19/07/2024

5

Well organised, from the friendly meet at the barrier giving us advice on upcoming events, given a site map and nearby Hope village map showing amenities. Taken to our pitch and briefly reminded of site rules . Site clean and tidy and showers toilets blocks excellent. Short walk into the village and a great base for touring the area. Will definitely be staying there again soon. Nice grass pitch with electric hook as well.
