Since 1950, Laneside Caravan Park has been a family-owned and family-run park that prides itself on providing quality holidays for guests in the stunning surroundings of the Hope Valley, in the heart of The Peak District.
On site, there are 20 all weather fully-serviced pitches and 28 hard standing electric pitches for caravans and motorhomes along with 40 grass electric pitches for caravans, campervans or tents.
They are well spaced and clearly marked for ease of pitching. All the electric pitches have a 12 to 16 amp supply. We ask that all appliances used should be camping and not domestic to avoid tripping out the electric.
There is a separate adult-only hardstanding and grass electric field which is handy for those who want to fully get away from it all and relax (please specify when booking to be pitched on this field).
The toilet and shower facilities come highly recommended by customers who some have compared them to the large sites in Europe, well known for their superb cleanliness and attention to detail.
The site has large centrally heated shower blocks with free hot showers plus huge family/disabled showers. Bright modern ambience, spacious individual changing with hair dryers, large makeup mirrors and vanity tops.
In the ladies toilets there are more hair dryers along with pay plugs for hair straighteners or other electrical goods, situated in the vanity area. There are also individual vanity cubicles with sink and mirrors for more privacy. A disabled shower and loo washroom with radar key access is also on site. Should guests not have key for this, they are available in the office.
The Laundry & Information room has two stack washer and dryers, stacks of local information and a second hand charity book stall. Just across from our amenity block is a sheltered sink area with 8 sinks for washing your pots. We also have some lower sinks for the children or wheelchair use.
Other facilities and activities available on site include WiFi across the site (two packages available), a boules court, football field and two table tennis tables (bats & balls available from the office).
The park has a designated small dogs area (please note this is not secure and only used for dogs doing their business). A large dog walking area is also provided which overlooks the football field. The site provides free dog bags for the convenience of guests.
A well-stocked shop is available on site and allows guests and visitors to purchase snacks, drinks, camping essentials and necessary supplies.
Being located in the heart of The Peak District, guests at Laneside can visit the Treak Cliff Cavern, a beautiful network of cave formations with a history steeped in rare Blue John mineral mining. Open for self-guided tours as well as ‘hands on’ experiences that take place across the year, this unique day out gives you a glimpse into the marvellous views of Derbyshire, as well as the stunning geological world beneath.

We are return visitors and we love the site. The pitches are great, the amenities well kept and there’s a great atmosphere. The location is great with a very short stroll to Hope, a slightly longer one to Castleton and plenty for the more adventurous.
Set in a beautiful location, with lots of places to visit this caravan park may be our new favourite place to visit. The park is immaculate and well laid out. Our pitch was huge (pitch 18)and very convenient for the bar, cafe, toilets and showers. The staff are lovely, very friendly and approachable. The little shop on site is well stocked with most items you should need on a short stay. The cafe serves a good range of food including breakfast which can be enjoyed in the large open air pavilion also a small bar. There are plenty of toilets and showers which are very clean and well maintained.Unfortunately when we stayed it was unbearably hot around 33 degrees so we never got to go out and about to visit the surrounding area as it was too hot for our dogs. We did manage some lovely short walks by the shaded river that runs around the park and were told by fellow holidaymakers that there was a lovely area where the dogs could paddle at the bottom of the site. Can’t wait to return!
Top notch cannot be bettered
We have stayed at this campsite before and as always it was a great stay.No matter what time off day you used the toilet/shower facilities they were always spotless.Staff on arrival very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again.
Staff are great. The campsite is next to a road that never sleeps and neither did I as it's so noisy all the time, and especially at night and early morning with cars, bike and heavy goods vehicles passing at speed.Apart from the noise the facilities are good and kept clean. Although the taps in the pot was area splash you with boiling hot water and are completely uncontrollable.
Beautiful, clean, well maintained site. Stayed in Ursula 2 birth caravan . She had everything we needed, towels and bedding and a little welcome pack with tea, coffee etc , jams and tea towel, cloth and sponge and washing up liquid.Everyone on the site was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We stayed while the children were still st school and it honestly felt like an adults only site. Very quiet and no disturbances other than the sounds of nature. There is very little on the site for children to do.The site is very well placed for exploring Derbyshire by car and also with walks straight from the campsite. On weekends there is a bar that opens, but we stayed mid week so wasn't able to use it. On Thursday morning though the little cafe on site opened and offered many different breakfast options at a great price, which we really enjoyed before we made our trip back down to Essex. We will definitely be coming back to stay here on our next Derbyshire adventure.
Very nice clean site with good facilities with a short walk to Hope village centre and a bus stop outside the gates.
Very friendly Clean well looked after site, excellent shower and toilet facilities Campsite bar a bonus with food if requiredHighly recommended and hope to return Lovely walks and good bus service especially the ride to buxton
Great time had at the site, lovely area, brook that runs alongside and lots of open green space, the pitches were good as were the onsite facilities and staff. Choose this site for the location and we weren't disappointed, lots to do locally! Fantastic walks and nice places to eat all within walking distance. Would definitely visit again as great value for money.
