Moss Wood is a fabulous family run caravan park for Holiday Homes, Touring Caravans and Motorhomes, nestled in a tree lined vale near the ancient village of Cockerham, and provides easy access to walks on the coastal path and nearby areas of Natural Outstanding Beauty.
Skelwith Fold's 90 touring pitches for Caravan and Motorhome holidays are scattered throughout a 130-acre woodland site, offering guests the opportunity to cohabit with wildlife, woodland, wetland and fell habitats found within the caravan sites boundaries.
All touring pitches are hard standing, offer electric hook-up and are conveniently located for use of the free toilet and shower blocks. Guests have access to laundry facilities, water standpipes and the reception can offer a gas exchange. There is a well stocked shop, internet access and even a Trust Library.
The park also have available 4 self-contained Hideaways which are located in one of the park’s quietest and most wildlife-friendly spots. These two-berth Hideaways provide a unique ambience that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the Lake District.
All our pitches are hard standing with electricity, water and grey water drainage.

Staff excellent and very helpful. Site is clean and well kept. Great open space for dogs.
Our friend was celebrating her 70th birthday with a tandem skydive / parachute jump at a nearby parachuting centre. We came along to cheer her on but needed a spot to pitch up in our campervan overnight. We found Moss Wood on line and were not disappointed.Level pitch, fully serviced and superb new individual bathroom facilities. If I had bothered to read the web page fully I would have seen that they also have a fishing lake.Sadly I missed out on that as I didn’t bring any tackle.Well placed for discovering the local area. Cyclists can enjoy a flat terrain and quiet roads.Lots for children to do.All in all an enjoyable short trip.
Second time here in our campervan with one of our grandkids. The lady in reception is lovely and friendly as she was last time. There’s a shop in reception which stocks the basics at a very reasonable price. The park and amenities are spot on. Fully serviced pitch. Lovely clean and modern toilet block. A couple of kids play areas and most importantly two fishing lakes for grandad. Our granddaughter loved the park and did a spot of fishing with me too. Lovely peaceful surroundings. We will be back
Perfect place for a quiet retreat on a luxury caravan site. Sections of the access road to the site are quite narrow but it never caused us any problems. There’s no pub nearby but the site shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. Enjoy!
Been here few times always nice and friendly very clean shower block fishing on site very peaceful
Stayed Oct half term . Lovely site , tidy and clean. Well laid out and spacious in a lovely quiet and natural environment. Spaces are big enough for caravan and awning with parking in front . Well managed site with good spacious warm bathrooms facilities including separate accessible bathroom. Good well equipped play-park and play areas for the children with safe areas for young children to bike. A little drive to get to M6 but then so many places to visit . We did the Lakes, Blackpool , Liverpool and Chester Zoo. Thanks for a great holiday.
Very nice site nice and quiet, well stocked shop.
The campsite is very well kept, the touring caravan part is not very big, but all amenities are there, there is a Mile long lane that takes you down to the site and this is narrow, my only concern was that if you have two caravans coming in different directions it would be very difficult to get out of that situation as the lane is so narrow, and the tractor drivers seem to use it as a race track they go that fast, so if visiting this site be aware, the lane could do with being made wider, the nearest place for groceries etc is Garstang which is 15mins drive away, there is nowhere in walking distance, but there is a small shop on site.
We rang the site for availability at very short notice due to arriving at an un satisfactory site elsewhere. The wardens were very helpful during my initial enquiry and were more than happy for us to arrive 30 mins later. The facilities on the site were excellent. Nice and tidy. Relatively quiet (although there is a childrens play area there) we were asked on booking if we wished to be near the play area or not and our choice was honoured. The showers & toilets were spotless. The wardens were brilliant. They shared their knowledge of the area and gave excellent recommendations for places to eat.We shall definately return.
