Since 1950, Laneside Caravan Park has been a family-owned and family-run park that prides itself on providing quality holidays for guests in the stunning surroundings of the Hope Valley, in the heart of The Peak District.
On site, there are 20 all weather fully-serviced pitches and 28 hard standing electric pitches for caravans and motorhomes along with 40 grass electric pitches for caravans, campervans or tents.
They are well spaced and clearly marked for ease of pitching. All the electric pitches have a 12 to 16 amp supply. We ask that all appliances used should be camping and not domestic to avoid tripping out the electric.
There is a separate adult-only hardstanding and grass electric field which is handy for those who want to fully get away from it all and relax (please specify when booking to be pitched on this field).
The toilet and shower facilities come highly recommended by customers who some have compared them to the large sites in Europe, well known for their superb cleanliness and attention to detail.
The site has large centrally heated shower blocks with free hot showers plus huge family/disabled showers. Bright modern ambience, spacious individual changing with hair dryers, large makeup mirrors and vanity tops.
In the ladies toilets there are more hair dryers along with pay plugs for hair straighteners or other electrical goods, situated in the vanity area. There are also individual vanity cubicles with sink and mirrors for more privacy. A disabled shower and loo washroom with radar key access is also on site. Should guests not have key for this, they are available in the office.
The Laundry & Information room has two stack washer and dryers, stacks of local information and a second hand charity book stall. Just across from our amenity block is a sheltered sink area with 8 sinks for washing your pots. We also have some lower sinks for the children or wheelchair use.
Other facilities and activities available on site include WiFi across the site (two packages available), a boules court, football field and two table tennis tables (bats & balls available from the office).
The park has a designated small dogs area (please note this is not secure and only used for dogs doing their business). A large dog walking area is also provided which overlooks the football field. The site provides free dog bags for the convenience of guests.
A well-stocked shop is available on site and allows guests and visitors to purchase snacks, drinks, camping essentials and necessary supplies.
Being located in the heart of The Peak District, guests at Laneside can visit the Treak Cliff Cavern, a beautiful network of cave formations with a history steeped in rare Blue John mineral mining. Open for self-guided tours as well as ‘hands on’ experiences that take place across the year, this unique day out gives you a glimpse into the marvellous views of Derbyshire, as well as the stunning geological world beneath.

Lovely stay at Laneside despite the dodgy weather! Pitches nicely spaced out, Shower/toilet facilities great, there is an old and new block, the old is fine clean just a bit dated, the new is all shiny and new and they have individual toilet with basin (wash rooms) cubicles which is such luxury on a camp site. Staff great, friendly helpful. The only down sides are the Wifi at £1 or £2 a day depending on what you want, bit of a fiddle just include it in the price. The other down is the traffic/train noise although after a first night of little sleep I just got used to it and it didn't bother me anymore. I would definitely stay again the good outweighs the bad easily and the position of the site is great for transport and access to walks. Thanks for a great stay.
This was our first time of using Laneside Camp touring site and it didn’t disappoint! We received a very friendly welcome, lots of local information and everyone was very helpful. The pitch was excellent as were all the facilities. We have never stayed anywhere where the pitches were so large and well kept. The site is very well situated for exploring the Peak District including being within easy reach of shops, pubs and garage. Both phone signal and WiFi are good. This is most definitely a gem of a site and we will definitely be looking to return!
Great site, everything clean. Nice and quite.
Booked a last minute 2 night stay at laneside. Had a lovely warm welcome on arrival. Great facilities . Good size pitch in the adult section , was near to the road but we felt it wasn’t that noisy. Some fantastic walks on the doorstep and dog walking field. Fabulous walk into castleton via path next to the road or shorter route across the fields . Really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning soon .
The shower/toilet block could do with heating in as in mornings it was quite cold
We stayed at Laneside last weekend, me my husband, 3 children and our dog....WOW, what an amazing campsite. Each pitch had a picnic table which the kids loved as they could eat outside and do their activities etc, facilities are amazing and spotless! The site is kept very clean and very well maintained. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, we enjoyed a drink at the bar and the kids had burgers friday evening and homemade pancakes Saturday morning from the food hut. Fish and chip van was on site Saturday evening and they put up a beer tent which was busy and a fantastic atmosphere! The site is so peaceful and tranquil, we will most definitely be visiting again!! 100% recommend a stay here.
Stayed for 10 nights in September. Location was ideal with the Train Station just up the road. Easy access into Sheffield or Manchester, also tried the Real Ale Trail along the route to Sheffield which was fun.The site itself is amazing. Toilets and showers always clean whenever I used them. Staff work very hard keeping the areas clean and tidy.little shop onsite for basic needs, or shop in village 1/2 mile away.Breakfast Van during the weekend & Fish + Chip Van on Saturday evening were a great service as we prefer not to cook when on Holiday.Overall, Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definately return as there are plenty of things in the area we didn't have time to visit.
Excellent campsite just a 5 min walk into Hope village where there's 2 good pubs, a cafe, bakery and the Curry Cabin one of the best Indian restaurants. The campsite is very well equipped with a small shop, a breakfast van on a weekend which was good, also a fish and chip van on a Saturday, also the hire of various E-bikes available. The facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean as is the whole site.We were in a campervan with a very large awning which we had an exceptional amount of space. It is a quiet site with no music allowed which is fine. There were a few groups in tents with small firepits which seemed acceptable they were respectful and quiet.Lots of lovely walks from the campsite or the bus from Castleton to Chatsworth House passes by the entrance, also a bus to buxton via Mam tor from the village. All in all the campsite was fab,the staff were friendly and helpful and we will definitely be returning (already planning for next year) with family and
Very welcoming staff on first arrival. Really friendly site and vibe! Useful recommendations and helpful with little extras throughout the stay. Great location. I camped and had a lovely quiet spot by the river. Lots of children scooting and biking around which my dog found a little stressful at times, but they were having a fun family holiday so I can't say it's a negative really!
First time at this site it was ver clean and tidy. The hard standing was flat and the the electric all worked perfectly. The toilets, washing and showers were well maintained. There are all sorts of walking cycling and running opportunities in a beautiful part of Derbyshire. There was some noise from the road but that’s only to be expected. After 10 . 30 the site itself was. Quiet enough. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful.
