Laneside Caravan Park

4.7 (422 reviews)

A beautiful riverside Holiday Park for caravans, motorhomes and tents. A 5 minute walk from the picturesque village of Hope, right in the heart of Derbyshire’s Peak District. Laneside is a sheltered site with mature trees, hedges and shrubs. Post and rail fences along with hedges separate the main pitching areas which helps Laneside to blend into its beautiful countryside surroundings.

Since 1950, Laneside Caravan Park has been a family-owned and family-run park that prides itself on providing quality holidays for guests in the stunning surroundings of the Hope Valley, in the heart of The Peak District.

On site, there are 20 all weather fully-serviced pitches and 28 hard standing electric pitches for caravans and motorhomes along with 40 grass electric pitches for caravans, campervans or tents.

They are well spaced and clearly marked for ease of pitching. All the electric pitches have a 12 to 16 amp supply. We ask that all appliances used should be camping and not domestic to avoid tripping out the electric.

There is a separate adult-only hardstanding and grass electric field which is handy for those who want to fully get away from it all and relax (please specify when booking to be pitched on this field).

The toilet and shower facilities come highly recommended by customers who some have compared them to the large sites in Europe, well known for their superb cleanliness and attention to detail.

The site has large centrally heated shower blocks with free hot showers plus huge family/disabled showers. Bright modern ambience, spacious individual changing with hair dryers, large makeup mirrors and vanity tops.

In the ladies toilets there are more hair dryers along with pay plugs for hair straighteners or other electrical goods, situated in the vanity area. There are also individual vanity cubicles with sink and mirrors for more privacy. A disabled shower and loo washroom with radar key access is also on site. Should guests not have key for this, they are available in the office.

The Laundry & Information room has two stack washer and dryers, stacks of local information and a second hand charity book stall. Just across from our amenity block is a sheltered sink area with 8 sinks for washing your pots. We also have some lower sinks for the children or wheelchair use.

Other facilities and activities available on site include WiFi across the site (two packages available), a boules court, football field and two table tennis tables (bats & balls available from the office).

The park has a designated small dogs area (please note this is not secure and only used for dogs doing their business). A large dog walking area is also provided which overlooks the football field. The site provides free dog bags for the convenience of guests.

A well-stocked shop is available on site and allows guests and visitors to purchase snacks, drinks, camping essentials and necessary supplies.

Being located in the heart of The Peak District, guests at Laneside can visit the Treak Cliff Cavern, a beautiful network of cave formations with a history steeped in rare Blue John mineral mining. Open for self-guided tours as well as ‘hands on’ experiences that take place across the year, this unique day out gives you a glimpse into the marvellous views of Derbyshire, as well as the stunning geological world beneath.

White to Dark Peak Walk based from Laneside Caravan Park; perfect.

Goldfinch, Andrew - 01/07/2025

5

Very clean and tidy, friendly, well run and quiet site. Perfectly located for walking. Bus stop and train station within a few minutes to take you to the start of your walks. Lovely caravan with everything you need to hand. The awning means you can put your walking gear over the chairs to dry out! I would recommend walking the White to Dark Peak over 3 days. Start in Bakewell and don't forget to stop off at The Bakewell Bakery!

First impressions

Trevaskis, Lisa - 27/06/2025

First impressions it’s quite a large site something we don’t usually go for. We stayed in the adult area which was nice and clean with large pitches, facilities were great with the best showers Iv used ! They even have a dog bath which came in really handy while we were there. Well stocked shop with very friendly staff. fish n chip van Saturday night also a bar. The only thing that spoilt it for us was the road noise in the evening with the amount of motor bikes up n down the road. Great pubs in walking distance and bus stops just outside . Hope Valley and Castleton are beautiful with so many walks to do.

Good site within walking distance of Hope

Cooke, Janet - 26/06/2025

We were welcomed by a very friendly host, given lots of helpful information about the site & then accompanied to our pitch. The pitches are of a good size and maintained well. The site is large with a selection of touring pitches, we chose a hard standing with electric, the water tap was a few minutes walkaway. The washrooms were of good size and enough to cope with size of the site, there is a new and an older set, both well maintained a very clean. We also liked that the site was within walking distance of the Villiage which had a shop, butchers and a few pubs. We had our dog with us and the dog excersise field is excellent, just couple of minutes walk from the sit exit. The only thing we didnt like was the road noise as-our pitch was next to it & the traffic noise was continuous. We knew the site was by an A road but completely under estimated how busy and noisy it would be. I would consider visiting the site again but would need to ask for a quiet pitch away from the road.

Near to several other historical local places to visit

Watkins, Peter A - 26/06/2025

Stayed there June 2025, our 1st visit to the site, was a bit of confusion on arriving to trying to find our plot due to no staff there on out arrival, we had planned to arrive approx 2pm onwards, but traffic delayed us which was out of our control, arrived approx 4.20pm and via other residents found the "bus stop" where our plot was listed with a map (which due to first time there was confusing) ended up going down a dead end route and had to do a 180 towing which was a challenge in that area. Eventually found our plot which was spacious, but they had work going on in front of the plot with workmen, luckily we had already planned touring places to visit so was only noisy (power tools) in the morning before we went touring the sights. Shower/toilets were very good and clean, site was near full which is always a good sign, shop very basic but there were shops etc in nearby villages so no problem. On the whole a pleasant 1st time and will definitely revisit again in the future.
