For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.
Two super king-size double bedrooms and one single bedroom.
A delightful stone-built mid-terrace cottage, situated near the beautiful river on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Stainforth, 3 miles from Settle, and just 5-10 minutes walk from the site itself.
This is a charming Stainforth cottage, fully refurbished and styled to provide a good quality holiday home in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
This Stainforth cottage features a sitting room with warm and cosy wood burning stove, a well-equipped adjoining kitchen, three delightful bedrooms, two with flexible accommodation, a pretty enclosed front garden and a patio area to the rear of the cottage.
Various walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep of this Stainforth cottage, on the Pennine Way and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, while the more energetic visitor can 'clock in' at Horton-in-Ribblesdale's Pen-y-Ghent cafe and take on the challenge of the Three Peaks walk!
For those less inclined towards the great outdoors, there are many sightseeing activities in the area around this cottage in Stainforth - visit the Hoffman Kiln at Langcliffe, the Falconry Centre and the market towns of Settle and Skipton. And what better way to end the day than the short walk to the heart of the village - the local pub? A great Stainforth cottage and location whatever the time of year.

A lovely site with friendly staff. Great walks and scenery. A mix of tents, campers and caravans gives a great mix of people. Lovely clean toilets and facilities. The road to the site can have it’s challenges, but plenty of passing points and easily navigable.
We love this place, have been coming for a long time. It has everything you could need on site, well maintained, clean and safe for young families. The restaurant is an added bonus if you don't fancy cooking. Set in such beautiful surroundings and close enough to drive to some amazing places of interest. Keep up the good work "the Maudsley family" we look forward to seeing you soon.
This is a great site which have visited 3 times. Brilliant for 3 peaks and N Yorks generally. New showers are great improvement and new reception area under construction. Welcome was very warm despite the weather! Despite being busy with full fields and scout groups on site access to toilets and showers was good. Pitches with water and electric are spacious too
The site is in a lovely area but the facilities are not up to the amount of people staying not any of our party had a nice shower it was either to hot or cold nothing in between both the ladies and gents. We went for a drink at the pub. The booking system they use is terrible either they don’t want the business of the kitchen staff are not upto the job it was never full apart from between 7-8 the stop food at 8!! Why?? We went back in for a few drinks on Saturday afternoon we went in with 3 dogs a lab and pointer and a Yorky all on the floor outside a waitress went passed and said that the yorky had just bit her we did apologise not sure why the dog is 14 with no teeth so it couldn’t have bitten her but we just let it go as the pub was full and no need to make a fuss. 5 mins later same girl came out again and told us to leave very odd girl said we didn’t look after our dogs and didn’t apologise again said nothing as we knew the dog had no teeth didn’t even see what happened. Needs sack
We really enjoyed our stay last week, great walks and a very nice meal in the Knights Table.
Has all the facilities you need (except a dryiroom which is useful in Yorkshire 😁). Good pub, good food and plenty for the kids to do. Pitch was a good size. Would definitely return when in the area.
Love this place. So many choices of walks from there, really good restaurant, friendly staff and extremely clean facilities with hot showers.
We were very happy with this site. It’s in a beautiful location and all good. The restaurant was lovely. We had a delicious meal and the prices were fair.Only thing I absolutely was not happy about was the online booking form. It was massively intrusive….surprisingly I wasn’t asked for my shoe size or inside leg measurement. This should not be necessary and I will not fill in a form like that again.
Very clean showers and toilets, security also very good
