For over 90 years Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.
Two super king-size double bedrooms and one single bedroom.
A delightful stone-built mid-terrace cottage, situated near the beautiful river on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Stainforth, 3 miles from Settle, and just 5-10 minutes walk from the site itself.
This is a charming Stainforth cottage, fully refurbished and styled to provide a good quality holiday home in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
This Stainforth cottage features a sitting room with warm and cosy wood burning stove, a well-equipped adjoining kitchen, three delightful bedrooms, two with flexible accommodation, a pretty enclosed front garden and a patio area to the rear of the cottage.
Various walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep of this Stainforth cottage, on the Pennine Way and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, while the more energetic visitor can 'clock in' at Horton-in-Ribblesdale's Pen-y-Ghent cafe and take on the challenge of the Three Peaks walk!
For those less inclined towards the great outdoors, there are many sightseeing activities in the area around this cottage in Stainforth - visit the Hoffman Kiln at Langcliffe, the Falconry Centre and the market towns of Settle and Skipton. And what better way to end the day than the short walk to the heart of the village - the local pub? A great Stainforth cottage and location whatever the time of year.

This was our first visit here and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely family friendly site with a lovely pub onsite. Plenty of space for kids/teenagers to run around and having the dog field was a bonus. Great walks on your doorstep and the waterfall where you can swim and jump in was brilliant. The weather did help too. It would have been nice on a night to sit around a fire pit but I understand why this was restricted. Overall though it’s a great site and we definitely will be returning. Thank you (party of 16 with 11 to 15 year olds and 2 dogs!!)
This campsite is our favourite, this was our third stay. Right next to the beautiful river and its quiet and peaceful, we had a very relaxing stay. On-site Facilities were clean. Pub on site is great, food was delicious. To make the site even better a small onsite shop would be amazing.
A very clean site with friendly staff in a lovely part of Yorkshire what more could you ask.
loved everything about the site, clean, tidy, great café/bar and super people.
We have visited every year for about 28 years and always found this campsite excellent.
Really happy staying at this site. Friendly staff and it is in a great location
Been here numerous times. Always 5 star place.
Friendly welcome and the map we were given was handy as it's a big site. Nice friendly family vibe and a large camping field plus playground so lots of room for the kids to run around. Busy and quite noisy in the day with kids and music but after 10pm you could hear a pin drop which was great. Felt safe to let my son go off and play with new campsite friends.Hot water in the washup area and free hot showers. The keypad to get into the service block was a bit of a pain when you are balancing lots of washing up and/or couldn't remember the code but there must be a reason for this.My only real niggle was some of the dog owners- most were great but one group near us let their dog bark incessantly which became really annoying to listen to, and someone let their dog poo on the family camping area where the kids play. They did pick it up but you can't get every last bit and not nice to think kids were rolling on the grass in the same place. Obviously not the site's fault though.
We stayed for 2 nights, reception really friendly and pitch easy to find, the site was so clean and the toilets and showers spotless!! The on-site restaurant was fabulous value for money and the cheese pie is to die for! We came home and booked to go back in September I think it will become a favourite of ours for years to come.
The site was well laid out and spacious. Facilities were excellent. Liked the restaurant also.Would be a good idea to put flags in to denote number of pitches.
