For over 90 years Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.

The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.

The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.

The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

Knight's cottage

A delightful stone-built mid-terrace cottage, situated near the beautiful river on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Stainforth, 3 miles from Settle, and just 5-10 minutes walk from the site itself.

This is a charming Stainforth cottage, fully refurbished and styled to provide a good quality holiday home in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

This Stainforth cottage features a sitting room with warm and cosy wood burning stove, a well-equipped adjoining kitchen, three delightful bedrooms, two with flexible accommodation, a pretty enclosed front garden and a patio area to the rear of the cottage.

Various walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep of this Stainforth cottage, on the Pennine Way and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, while the more energetic visitor can 'clock in' at Horton-in-Ribblesdale's Pen-y-Ghent cafe and take on the challenge of the Three Peaks walk!

For those less inclined towards the great outdoors, there are many sightseeing activities in the area around this cottage in Stainforth - visit the Hoffman Kiln at Langcliffe, the Falconry Centre and the market towns of Settle and Skipton. And what better way to end the day than the short walk to the heart of the village - the local pub? A great Stainforth cottage and location whatever the time of year.

Lovely campsite in a great location

Hall, Tracy - 24/09/2022

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Knight campsite. Easy access to get into the campsite. Owner very helpful and friendly. Toilet/shower block was very clean and modern. Large spacious pitch with electric. The campsite is set in a very picturesque location with easy access to a pretty riverside walk that takes you directly into Settle. Very good value at £29 per night for 3 adults in a Campervan with electric. The highlight for us was the bar/restaurant next to the site. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

Brilliant site, been before and looking forward to the next

Coates, Helen - 23/09/2022

Definitely our favourite site. Clean tidy, well spaced out pitches. Big plus being able to fish off site and lots of nearby walks. Short walks into Helwith Bridge and Settle, plus the site Restaurant is spot on with the best beer in the area.

Stunning location

My first visit and won’t be my last. Set in stunning location. The site was I’m as well ran. The staff on site and the on site restaurant were nothing but friendly and helpful. We ate in and had takeaway food from the Knights Table, both were delicious. The pitch was generous size with a water tap. We swam in the River on site and other locations. Malham village was beautiful with the Lister Arms pub for delicious food.Highly recommend the camping/caravan site to anyone.

Stunning setting

France, Tina - 22/09/2022

Lovely views from the site. Pitches spacious, clean and offering degree of privacy, although more would be good. Receptionist friendly and helpful. Loo block reasonably clean. Showers not hot or powerful enough and need more hanging space/benches. Dog walking area excellent. Very quiet at night. Absence of lighting made night sky views beautiful. Shame we couldn’t get into the restaurant on the two mid-week, mid-September evenings we tried. Waste and recycling bins could do with more signage, not immediately obvious where they were. Walks direct from site were brilliant. All in all a very good short stay. Thank you.

From main road to site is a narrow road of around 2 miles. Site is clean and tidy, only downside,,,a shop is supposed to be onsight, in truth its woeful.

Our second visit, and it just gets better.

Hall, David - 21/09/2022

First of all the pitches are well spaced out and the services to the pitches are excellent. We love that is a ‘Black out’ area and the curfew from 11pm to 7am is great, it’s a shame to spoil such a lovely location with noise pollution. The food, service and staff in the restaurant are excellent, warm, friendly and attentive, the food well what can one say about the food, we shouldn’t have ordered a starter (as nice as it was) the main course is huge and well prepared and served. There are only 2 points we would like to point out, constructive criticism! Our wine glasses were dirty with lipstick on mine and finger prints on my wife’s, when I took them to the bar and pointed this out, the charming young lady was very helpful, but I noticed she had to delve through a few glasses on the shelf before she found clean ones! The second point, obviously some visitors do not read your rules relating to dogs, there were a few who were allowed to run around, and we witnessed at least one

Good facilities and location for Yorkshire 3 peaks

Corcoran, Mark - 21/09/2022

Camped for 2 nights. Pleased with staff and facilities. Would use again. There's also a pub onsite that does food. I stayed here to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge. It was a short drive (< 10 mins) to the Horton in Ribblesdale car park from here. I would stay here again. No complaints.

Good clean site with bonus of restaurant near by.

Wilson, Carol - 21/09/2022

Enjoyed stay had a walk into Settle a bit rugged on way in quite craggy in places and got sent back on right path a couple of times but caught bus back into Stainforth and helpful walkers gave us directions right back into site. It would be helpful to others if the directions and bus timetable were available to give them the opportunity to get into Settle and enjoy there time there and I would recomend the museum we enjoyed that but check times it is open.
