Loved the pitch size - really spacious. Facilities were great, very clean. Food in the cafe was superb although the drinks were a little on the pricey side (£2.50 for a can of Pepsi 😲) Lots of space in the middle of both fields for children to play and make friends
The campsite is great! I stayed with my family, two children and two adults and our dog. The pitches are large, we opted for the extra large as my sister also stayed so we had pitches next to each other. The campsite is pristine. The toilets and showers and cleaned multiple times per day, the washing up room is clean too. The onsite cafe is great, the coffee is great! They even offer Sunday lunches which were delicious. The grounds are quiet which is nice. They have lodges, pods and plenty of space. The kids were out playing regularly, the dog had plenty of space to use the loo and play too. The staff are super friendly. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay in the bottom field (F pitches). Lots of nice people and a chilled atmosphere. However, it was a bit more expensive than our usual site and the cafe was too expensive for us.But there is local Co-op and Tesco only 10 minutes away.Overall we were happy and would come again.
We camped with a few families in tents and campervans. The staff were great, the campsite was excellent, with good facilities, animal paddock and lovely cafe. We enjoyed the local walks/ bike rides from the campsite and it had lots of great attractions only a short drive away. The only feedback we have was please can you put a gate in the fence from the field to shower block to save walking around through the other gateway, but not a deal breaker, just a very minor improvement. Will definitely return! Thanks for a great weekend!
Facilities were really goodExcellent cafeLoved our cabin. Great location for family activities
This campsite was almost perfect and perfection lies outside the remit of the campsite owner. We stayed in the lower field - lovely and level. Tents and motor homes all had well marked pitches around the outside of the field with loads of space for kids to play in the middle. The showers and toilets were kept very clean - showers lovely and hot at all times of the day - well laid out with a chair and plenty of hooks in each. The on-site independent cafe is Amazing - very friendly staff and food is reasonably priced. The Sunday Roast is def worth a go! The ONLY downside is the field backs on to a very busy and noisy road - although it's supposed to be a 30mph road it def didn't feel like it the other side of the hedge. Road noise with cars and lorries starts about 5.20am and goes on through the day till nearly 10 at night! In a weird way we kind of got used to it - we were there for a week. It's something to def be aware of - take away that and our group would go back there!
Great campsite, they pay attention to the smaller details eg hand soap in the toilets and washing up liquid provided. Love the big space in the middle of the lower field our grandkids loved playing football etc with all the other kids and easy for parents to view what’s afoot
Had a couple of nights on the site. It was a small very friendly site with good showers and a great cafe on site. Will certainly be visiting again
We had a lovely weekend overall. We upgraded from camping to a glamping pod, and the accommodation was exactly as described and suitable although the sofa bed was very firm. The site map made it look like the four pods were in a secluded area, but this wasn't the case. Someone pitched a tent in what appeared to be our pod's garden. Reception confirmed they had given permission. Had they been part of our group it wouldn't have mattered, but as they were strangers, it felt uncomfortable, especially with our dogs. There were also 50+ people celebrating in the glamping area. This didn't affect us as we were celebrating too with family in the lodges, but couples expecting a quiet getaway may be disappointed. The on-site café was lovely and it was great being able to grab a coffee. The accommodation was great, but the map should better show this is a shared area. Large groups should also be encouraged to celebrate on the campsite where they're staying rather than around the glamp
The campsite itself is very nice. Facilities are pretty good. And the layout is pleasant. However: all pitches are between 8 and 10 metres wide, with no space between them whatsoever. This means the fire safety regulations gap of 6 metres between accommodations is not possible, which I understand is a legal requirement for the safety of all guests. When we were there. We witnessed 4 separate accommodations all with gaps of less than 1 metre! This is not only awful for the people inside the tents, but it is potentially dangerous. Also, the campsite says it has a quiet time rule from 10:30 at night, where no music or noise that can be heard from outside your accommodation is permitted. However, there was a large group of campers who played loud music until midnight, with no repercussions every night. If a campsite promotes rules that encourage guests to book, they should ensure those rules are adhered to. We did have a nice time here - just a shame about the music. And the lack of space.
