Fantastic site with very good size pitches and very clean toilets and showers
Really lovely site, very clean and tidy and facilities well maintained. Very dog friendly with good walks. The George Pub was lovely serving really good food. All staff were very friendly. The only downside was when we arrived and for the first day a group of children were riding round and round the gravel road on small electric bikes. Otherwise a lovely stay.
No mobile telephone signal and despite WiFi being advertised, this service was abysmal. This was not made clear to us and should be openly described in the website descriptors. The staff were amazing but advised the owner did not wish to invest.l un upgrading the wifi. This affected ability to communicate with vulnerable family members and also an inability to receive a really important call.In this day and age I feel this is unacceptable. This is a shame as the site itself is great, well maintained and excellent facilities. As above the operational staff were superb and in no way is this a reflection on them.A simple investment in meaningful and usable wifi (regardless of numbers of users) with an ability to operate wifi calling would turn this review around
Lovely stay recently. Attended with friends for 2 days and we had a great stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the facilities were very clean. Would recommend this site for a relaxing stay. Lovely walks near by with waterfalls and a village pub a 1 mile walk away across the fields. Would definitely stay again
We very much enjoyed our stay at this campsite. Facilities were great and outstanding, the location is brilliant too with lots of local shops and places to visit with children. Staff were very friendly and informative. We look forward to staying here again soon.
This was our first time at the campsite and found the facilities to be adequate for the duration of our 3 night stay. Whilst the site advertises free WiFi the reliability was somewhat iffy and should not be relied on, especially for sending messages and checking emails. When queried we were told everyone complains about it! It’s a shame nothing has been done to rectify it! Location was good for getting out and about by car. The toilet and shower facilities were good and kept clean.
Nice campsite and very peaceful but they need to update their maps as we got lost in the local woods, have more advertising about what’s in the local area (there’s a brilliant little place nearby called hedgerow cafe which is not mentioned) and more food is needed in the shop, would have been great to buy some local produce but none there.
This is a great, well run, clean and tidy campsite in an area where there’s loads of things to do.Our only gripe is that although the site advertises WiFi it’s not really worth bothering with as there’s not enough bandwidth to allow anyone to use it
We returned here after a visit a few years ago. It’s still lovely (though miss the goats!) Well equipped and small enough to be peaceful and close to all amenities on site. Everything clean and maintained and friendly staff. Well situated for lots of activities in the area.
We had a great stay at the campsite. Apparently there are not many campsites in or near a Forrest. But this one is! Straight from the camping you can walk in to the forest, or a field filled with sheep and to a nearby town. Have not seen the management a lot, just a check in. Booking online went perfect. And to me very important, cleanliness. Showers, toilets and amenities were very clean. Only if WiFi speed or reception would have been better it would be A plus. But other than that we had a great stay and enjoyed the surroundings very much. Thanks and maybe till next time.
