From the second we arrived on site we were made welcome. The pitches were large and well laid out. The facilities were spotless and well maintained. The site afforded two walks directly from the site. One into the village where there is a small shop and a pub, and one down to the hidden waterfalls both worth doing. The mobile and TV signal is terrible, which is a bonus if you really want to recharge, however the site wi-fi is passable and free. For a few days to recharge, walk the dogs and relax with friends it is perfect. If you have access to a car this makes a great base for exploring the area. Try it you will not be disappointed.
Local area had lovely scenic surroundings with some woodland walks from the park as well as picking up other wonderful walks within a short distance drive. Great walk to to 'The George' at St Braviels-smashing, welcoming pub.Stayed 6 nights 6-12 October. Although we were hard standing, the surrounding grass was very long which meant it was very wet all day, there would be no excuse to have not cut the grass and given more consideration to your guests, even more so, to those staying in tents. The two lights on the cross field path to the toilet block were not working during our stay. These things are basic expected maintenance. No heating was on in the toilet/shower block at any time, the block was very clean. I'd suggest you keep the site top notch for your paying guests during all seasons that you are open. The charge was not value for money for a average site.
Stayed for 2 nights. Arrived a bit later than expected and reception had shut due to staff sickness. However, called the number on the door and was answered by Jason who sent me all the info immediately to get access and pitch up. Everything on site you would need, toilets and showers clean, service point and chemical waste disposal. Lovely and quiet site, flat hardstanding pitch with loads of room for extra vehicle and awning, still giving you space between neighbour. Walks to the forest from site and not far from wye river
We were really impressed with the facilities at the site, lovely hot showers, all very clean and well serviced - makes such a difference. Waste disposal and recycling facilities were very well organised. Great pitch size too. Nice reception area with friendly staff. Was perfect for our short trip to Chepstow and one to remember for next time.
A very lovely quiet site, although next to a main road the traffic noise was not a disturbance. Level pitches with very good grass coverage. Excellent facility block spotlessly clean, laundry and drying room useful.Lovely walks direct from site.. Next to wooded area, deer, owls heardVery helpful and pleasant staffThank you for our stay , we will hopefully return
I quite liked the site, I had no issues. The showers always worked & toilet block was clean. No noise at night. The only wish, not the campsite fault, it's a bit rural if you on foot, no bus route nearby & the walk to the village about 1 ½ miles, via grass pavement verge (road), or via a sheep field.
We chose this site based on its proximity to some walks we have wanted to do for some time. Took this oportunity and was impressed with the site. We were here, howewver, at a very quiet time so our impressions are based on that. our pitch was no 8 and a hardstanding pitch with electric. great pitch, level and ample space for our largish motorhome. very clean site and facilities were very good, hot water and warm and very clean. Reception good and Leanne was great. She explained all we needed to know at arrival and later, when I chatted to here about some local area questions, she answered in a very knowlegable way, we chatted for ages:)For us it was a great few days and, although my wife wasnt very well on one day (heavy cold) we had a great walk next day and will be back to complete other walks as soon as we can.
Staff friendly good facilities good pub in the village
My visit was in the middle of Sept so not surprisingly there were only 5 or 6 outfits on site. The site is well laid out with modern facilities. The young lady in reception was friendly and efficient and also kept the facilities immaculate
The site is in an ideal situation for walking. We were met by Keira, who was very friendly and helpful. The facilities are excellent and kept very clean.
