Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!

The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.

The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.

The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.

Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.

At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.

Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.

Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.

Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.

Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

Multi generation family celebration

McLay, Andrew - 02/06/2026

5

We chose this campsite for a multi generation family celebration, as it was equidistant from our homes with plenty of activities nearby. We were not disappointed as there was ample space for the children to run around in the play area and each pitch was spacious. The facilities were always clean and all cooked food purchased at reception was good quality. The emails received before our arrival were helpful and all staff very pleasant.

Wonderful half term stay

Saint, Elaine - 02/06/2026

Wonderful cabin on Greenacres campsite. Very clean and had everything that we needed . Maureen is a very welcoming and helpful host . It was so convenient to be close to our family who were camping on the campsite . We all enjoyed visiting the surrounding area including a day visiting Gloucester cathedral and the surrounding city. We had several visits with the family to places owned by Forestry England like Beechenhurst, Mallards Pike and Cannop Ponds. All really worth visiting with excellent walks and bike trails . Forest of Dean is a beautiful area well worth visiting and Greenacres campsite and cabin are wonderful, well maintained and a convenient place to stay.

Hot Bank Holiday weekend

Upton, Sharon - 30/05/2026

Stayed for the very hot bank holiday weekend.Campsite was fully booked but you wouldnt have know as plenty of space for everyone.Pitches good size and very well maintained.Staff friendly and helpfull.Little shop / cafe perfect and did a roaring trade in ice creams.Toilet and showers kept very clean.1st time using metered electric hook up and pleasently suprised with how little we spent over 4 nights. Maybe due to our solar pannels and also very little use of the kettle ! Feels a very fair way to charge. Had Pizza Fri night that we pre ordered and this worked well. Pizza where very nice.Enjoyed the ice cream van that came on to site every evening.Short walk into Coleford.Easy to get into the Forest to explore by car.I would stay again and recommend.Only small niggle showers had no rack for you to put your toiletries on in the shower.

Wonderful campsite

Watkins, Rachel - 29/05/2026

Fantastic campsite, great location, whether you want to stay put and relax or go out and find out whats around you, the staff are amazing, nothing is to much trouble, everyone is so friendly, this is our third time camping there and we have another 2 holidays booked there to go, we can't wait, the facilities and amenities are great, everything is spotlessly clean, Friday pizza night is great and the pizzas are delicious, highly recommend the breakfast rolls in the mornings, and the shop has all the essentials you may need, Greenacres is excellent value for money and I would highly recommend this place to anyone with families or just couples like us. Can't wait to see you on our next visit .

Great for dogs

Phillips, Andrea - 29/05/2026

This was our second time here, staff are lovely. Didnt like the pitch we were on (40) grass pitch right by the path to the other field so a lot of dog walkers which kept setting our dogs off. And not enough water taps! There wasn't one in our field had to walk to the exit or next field over. Couldn't see a dog shower so would be good to have one of those as the first 2 days we stayed was raining. Not sure if we will return, if we do we will have a gravel pitch which is closer to all amenities.

This was our 4th year in a row coming, normally a large group but just families this time, still had just as good time and weather was stunning. Lovely people that own and run the site, facilities are always clean, kids loved the new edition of the swings.
