Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!
The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.
The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.
The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.
Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.
At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.
Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.
Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.
Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.
Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

The site was easy to find, well cared for and the check-in was straightforward. They had made a note of our enquiries about walking and offered route information to us. The toilet / shower areas were clean and spacious. There was no queueing but it was off season. The Metpow App for electricity was informative and only charges you for what you use and was much less than what many sites charge per night. As a consideration for when busy I would suggest asking guests which side there awning is on so that they are allocated the correct pitch set up.The only negative point is that there is no grey waste draining facility for motorhomes. The grey waste is in an area only accessible on foot for those with portable waste tanks.A half hour walk on footpaths brings you to the town with a variety of shopping and eating options.Plenty of walking / cycling close by but to reach most of the tourist attractions you would need a car.
Good communication via email prior to the stay and we arrived after 3pm so reception was closed so had been allocated a pitch but luckily it was a really nice one, the site was tidy, well organised and quiet with warm clean facilities, excellent dog walking to the right through the gate at the back of the site and then down into Coleford, metered electricity was easy to set up using the app as instructed, overall a relaxing stay.
Thank you for your review - we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future.
Great site, very friendly and with good, spotlessly clean facilities. A great location too with easy access to walks, pubs and shops.

Nice a quiet stay at Greenacres campsite. Perfect distance from the FoD cycle center. Nice flat and level pitches and very cleans modern toilets and washrooms. This is my second visit and will definitely come again.
Thank you for your review and recommendation. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Greenacres and we look forward to welcoming you back.
Really lovely site with nice pitches and plenty of wildlife located next to a river.Staff very helpful the only criticism is the water temperature in the washing up/shower room was on warm not hot.
Overall the site is well looked after and facilities are good. Reception has a small shop, the owners/staff are very patient and helpful. The lane up to it is due to be resurfaced and this does need doing. But I got up and down ok. The Forest of Dean is good for sightseeing, walking and water sports.
Wonderful campsite, very clean, looks great, pitches are nice and big, receptions team were very friendly and welcoming. Toilets are clean and up to date. Lovely walks through the back of the site to a local park and large green area. My only fault is the road in to the site is quite poor and could do with being resurfaced. apart from the road in everything was top notch.
We only stopped at this site for one night to visit Puzzlewood so had not spent a lot of time reading reviews etc due to short stay however we absolutely loved it. The site is so well kept, neat tidy big pitches , lovely clean shower/toilet block and washing ups facilities and laundry for those staying longer. It's an easy/lovely walk into Coleford if you want to eat out or just go to the pub. Staf are friendly and helpful - highly recommend in fact already have a friend looking to book
Thank you so much for your review and recommendation - it's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you back in the future.
Very clean site with plenty of facilities. Helpful staff. Only down side was lawn mowing - gotta do it but noisy on a sunny afternoon.
