Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!

The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.

The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.

The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.

Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.

At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.

Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.

Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.

Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.

Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

Gateway to the countryside

Staff went out of their way to find us a good quiet spot as it was crowded that weekend. They were helpful and flexible and made us feel at home. The facilities are very clean and well kept and the site has plenty of greenery and cool shade. The gate into the local footpath to Coleford is very handy, leading to a lovely walk into town across the wildflower meadow. I woke up very early and heard a woodpecker feeding on a large tree overhanging the site. A nice green space and very handy for town.

Lovely site, great location

Richards, June - 18/07/2024

Had a lovely long weekend stay at Greenacres. I stayed in the pod which was basic but what I expected. Others in our group camped or caravaned, pitches good, facilities are excellent and the take away in reception is a great addition. A great stay. Easy walk in Coleford and some of the group walked to Symonds Yat directly from the site perfect

Excellent family get together weekend. Very accommodating and our 2nd visit to this site. Slight hiccup on arrival but situation easily resolved - missing pitch!

Lovely large pitches. Situated near glamping pod which we rented. Love the idea of pizza pre-order. Good value and run well. Perfect location for our large extended annual camping trip weekend. Very accommodating staff. Site clean, disappointed to see that the portable toilets were out of action and there a slightly long walk for the toilet. It still wasn’t far however if it was raining and you needed the loo at night then going to the main block would have been less appealing, luck was on our side and weather was good.

Top notch campsite

Immaculate, well maintained pitch. Very flat. Excellent facilities, all kept clean and tidy during our stay. Super friendly staff. Wish we had checked the food options before we brought stuff with us as the menu looked decent. And the area is beautiful. Very happy with our stay.

Lovely, Family Run Site

Cannon, Caroline - 11/07/2024

We stayed at Greenacres as part of a primary school class group. It’s a lovely site and spot with plenty to visit in the area. My daughter and I had the pod, which is brilliant for an easy camping weekend, comfortable beds, a small fridge and electric. Plus we even got to watch the football on the tv! There’s a birds nest above the door which had 4 eggs and a very tentative mother, the children were thrilled by this. The children had a great time playing in the field and park. Hopefully the weather will improve so the rest of the equipment can get erected as what is there at the moment was a bit too high for their age. That didn’t stop them trying though!Nice and clean washrooms although the water pressure is a bit weak, just don’t try to wash your hair if it’s long and it’ll be fine! The shop and cafe are great, Friday pizza night was perfect and the food was very good. Breakfast baps were excellent, just what was needed after all the rain we had. Many thanks team Greenacres

Clean, calm and clear

Manley, Kirsten - 09/07/2024

I was staying at Greenacres Campsite with colleagues over a few days and highly recommend this site. The pitches included picnic benches which was great for having breakfast together. I loved the wildlife at night. The facilities were spotless and all in working order and it was really obvious where to put recycling, landfill and other items for disposal. The instructions before and during our stay were really clear. Thank you to the team behind the scenes which made this a really relaxing camping experience.

Well kept site

Keen, Geoffrey - 05/07/2024

A well kept site, average pitch, clean showers & toilets but could do with a few more as quite a large number of people staying especially at the weekends making a little wait to use these facilities, (be aware this site have school children on trips at the weekend, we were unaware of this & although it’s nice to hear children having fun the events went on until 23.45 Fri night & 22.30 sat night which was not so bad). There is a little shop with a small range of groceries, breakfast rolls available which were very reasonable & tasty if you don’t want to cook, they also have a pizza night. You can have takeaways delivered from the local town. The only reason we probably wouldn’t stay again would be, we quite like a more quiet site & although the area is lovely with lots of places to visit we tend to try different areas & sites. The owners were very nice & staff helpful.
