Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!

The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.

The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.

The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.

Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.

At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.

Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.

Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.

Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.

Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

Good overnight pitch for walkers between Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

James, Antony - 26/06/2026

It was easy to check in, even though I arrived after office hours- details of my pitch were displayed in the window along with a map of the site. It was well organised and there was plenty of space with a good rural outlook from my pitch. The field was relatively smooth and level for sleeping. The shower blocks were clean and well maintained. I appreciated the additional smaller loos in the camping field. It was quiet and I had a good night's sleep enabling me to pack up and be on my way by 7 a.m. It was near Coleford to buy provisions and a meal. Footpaths nearby were well signposted and relatively easy to find. It was an ideal stop on my walk from Birmingham to Cardiff. (Unfortunately, my camera stopped working on May Hill that morning so I don't have any photos).

Greenacres return stay.

Tilley, Kevin - 23/06/2026

We have stayed at Greenacres several times now. The staff are excellent and friendly. The site is well maintained and the facilities are always clean. As a bonus the site is well placed to take full advantage of what the area has to offer. If you don't want to drive there's a footpath in to town which takes about 20 minutes. As I said, we have stayed many times and will continue to use Greenacres in the future whenever we are in the area.
