Site has both hard standing and grass pitches, plus a small number of lodges. Toilet block was clean, showers were large enough to be comfortable. Also a disabled bathroom available. There is nice cafe serving good value food.Grounds are well maintained. Nice forest walk for the dogs just outside the site.Owner friendly and helpful
Had a lovely stay. Dave the owner very friendly.
Gorgeous well appointed cabin with everything you may need. I loved the attention to detail within land outside. The aspect was beautiful , lots of birds, greenery with a good local walk. Dave , owner, was warm and welcoming.I really enjoyed my stay, and would go back in a heartbeat.
Overall the site was very clean and well maintained with good facilities. The pod was as described and had space for our friends to come and have dinner with us- they were staying in their campervan on a grass pitch. My main disappointment was the sofa beds, which I found very uncomfortable and I had difficulty sleeping on both nights. However, my husband slept quite well, so I guess it depends on personal preference. We enjoyed a walk around the local area and were blessed by sunny weather, though the evenings were chilly! Visited a couple of local craft centres and enjoyed their cafes, but didn’t get round to visiting the cafe on site.
Footpaths and off-road tracks straight from the site a bonus.😊
A lovely rural site which is very friendly. The owner was so helpful and welcoming to everyone.
unfortunately it was a little wet under foot due to the wet weather!! Thanks to Dave...always there to help if needed. Good facilities always clean.Great little cafe on site. Easy access to all areas of the FofD.
Fab location for visiting the forest but we booked here to visit friends who live nearby. Have been before and loved it. Dave the owner is absolutely brilliant and had us in fits of laughter with his banter. He is busy creating new lodges etc everything he’s doing is top notch and we will definitely be back.
We stayed at Greenway for 2 nights for my 40th birthday. The Acorn Lodge was really special with all mod cons (including little extras like hand soap, washing up liquid, hairdryer and so on). It was lovely to have the private outdoor space with bbq, hot tub and dining area. The cafe onsite was really handy, shower blocks were nice, clean and warm (although we did not use them since the lodge had its own shower & toilet). The kids enjoyed seeing the family of goats and donkey on site too! Checking in/out was really easy, the staff were great and the site itself was well kept, quiet and in a handy location for dog walks and close to towns and local attractions. We would definitely love to come back and stay again in the future!
Second stay here. Both times we’ve enjoyed our time here. Recently it was very windy and wet! But the weather didn’t stop the kid’s fun. Breakfast in the small friendly restaurant was the best start to the day ahead of cycling at FoD centre nearby.
