All fine.thsnks for storing tent on departure day
A lovely site in a great location. The cafe is excellent and the Ark we stayed in was lovely. We spent a day mountain biking and a day walking - there is so much to do in the area we would definitely come back to explore some more. The site was immaculate and the facilities clean and had everything you need. Two of us stayed in an ark that sleeps 4 - for 2 it was perfect for a treat - I think it would just about work for 4 but would be cosy. The sofa beds are not 'bed' comfortable but certainly an upgrade from our usual little tent. Really enjoyed our stay.
Very friendly welcome from the owner. Useful to have received a message with map & pitch before we arrived. Immaculately groomed main camping field & mostly level. Our friends enjoyer their glamping pods & we took our caravan. Other family & friend groups were also enjoying the site. Good clean facilities. Our friends welcomed the very good cooked breakfast in the cafe. Good location for enjoying the Forest of Dean & it’s many bike & walking trails. Hope to go again.
We arrived on a Monday and Dave came to greet us the following day . Had a nice long chat with us. Very good facilities as I have a mobility problem used the disabled shower room which was warm and spacious. Plenty of places to see in the area. The only grip was that on the Friday families starting arriving with very young children who swooped about the campsite making a lot of noise. Not too bad on the Friday evening but at 6.50 am on the Saturday morning unacceptable. We appreciate that this was not Dave's fault and it should be parents' responsibility for their children. There are two fields for tents so maybe one could be designated for families and the other one for adults only.
All amenities are first class. All very clean. The WiFi isn’t the strongest. It worked okay sometimes, just needs a bit stronger signal. That is the only very small thing. Not a complaint though. Also the restaurant is really good. Top food and service.
We only stayed one night but we could have easily stayed more. Really well kept site and you can tell that Dave takes real pride in his site and making his customers happy. The facilities were clean and all in working order. The cafe/restaurant was an added bonus, the staff were really friendly and helpful, great breakfast, which was quality ingredients and great value for money.
Great place, with a very friendly owner and staff. The toilets are really clean. the lodge we stayed in has a big BBQ and fireplace. Love it!
This campsite was in a good position for visiting the area. Easy to get too. Spaces were large and having a separate car parking space was wonderful. The amenities block was clean and warm and ample for the amount of people.Having a room with tables chairs and sofas was fantastic as we were able to sit and play games together in the evening as the weather was not warm enough to sit outside.Overall we will visit again as it was one of the best sites we have parked on.
A well appointed campsite, good pitches, friendly staff, super clean facilities what more could we ask for? A cafe serving delicious food - yes that's there too. The message with site map and pitch makes life really easy, no waiting to book in etc. Loved it.
Choosing a campsite from afar always risks disappointment. In this case my expectations from the reviews and photos of Greenway Farm campsite were amply fulfilled.Firstly, and very importantly, the site was easy to find and access was good as I travel alone so only have satnav and my dog to guide me. I received a warm welcome from Dave who had taken the trouble to call me by name when I arrived. The grass field was well-maintained with hedges all round. The toilets and showers were clean and tidy and the onsite restaurant served such good food that it was popular with the locals. There was plenty of enjoyable walking around in the Forest of Dean, a short drive from Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Lydney. And there was a most-pleasant atmosphere on the campsite generally. I will certainly return. I hope that Dave will arrange for pleasant weather again!
