Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!

The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.

The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.

The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.

Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.

At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.

Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.

Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.

Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.

Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

Peaceful campsite

Prouse, Helen - 27/07/2026

Lovely little family friendly site. Pitches were big and well spaced out with lots of space for the kids to play. Bathrooms were modern and some of the cleanest I've seen. There were lots of attractions nearby and a large lidl 5 minutes down the road. The electricity meter was really easy to set up and only cost a couple of pounds for our stay. I would definitely recommend this site to others.

Great little site

Green, Lesley - 26/07/2026

Great site for seeing many attractions in the Forest of Dean. Site was very clean tidy and well run with many added extras that help for a great stay. They ran a little morning cafe from the shop which we used for a breakfast croissant most mornings. They were also doing homemade pizzas on the Friday night which looked very popular although we didn’t have one. There was a nice seating area outside the shop with a playhouse for the kids. The pitches were a good size and well spaced out. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Although you pay for your electric by the meter. It’s easy to set up and very cheap. A great little site which caters for all campers.

We had three nights at Greenacres. We were staying in our motorhome and our friends in the Wren's Nest. The campsite is immaculate. Excellent shower/loo facilities and pot washing area. Lots of great places to visit by bike. The owners are on hand, proactive and very welcoming. A definite recommendation to visit from us!

Fantastic find

Powell, Hilary - 24/07/2026

We had the most wonderful stay at Greenacres. We picked the site by chance for four nights in our way back from Pembroke and we were not disappointed. The site is really well set out, well looked after, and the facilities were spotlessly clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I don't think we can fault the site at all and we will definitely be returning!

Great campsite in the Forest of Dean

Pyatt, Tim - 23/07/2026

5

Perfect size campsite, big enough for a shop & good shower block, but not too big to be a holiday park.Short walk to the very pretty village of Newlands and the superb Ostrich pub.

Ideal for our purposes

Stickland, Mark - 23/07/2026

I stayed here for just one night in a campervan with my son and Labrador. The lady who met me at reception on arrival was very friendly and gave me a box with a couple of leftover sausages for the dog.The site had everything we needed and is arranged in a series of fields separated by thick hedges for privacy. The people in our area seemed friendly and it was peaceful at night. Having downloaded the MetPow app in advance as advised, it was a simple matter to get the hookup working (although I did receive a bill for the princely sum of £1.68 the next day lol). One of the reasons we chose this site was its access to the forest. There are several paths leading from the site to quickly get into the thick of it.All in all, ideal for our needs and hard to fault.
