Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!

The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.

The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.

The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.

Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.

At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.

Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.

Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.

Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.

Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

It is one of the best campsites that I have ever stayed in. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The campsite and all its facilities were very clean and looked brand new.Next time I am in the area again, I will 100% come back to this campsite to stay again.

Excellent location for touring in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley

O'Rourke, Hilary - 07/05/2024

This was our first time in the Forest of Dean, and we chose Greenacres because of its central location. Maureen was quick to respond to email correspondence before our visit, and very helpful in allowing us to have important correspondence delivered to the site. Apart from the rather bumpy access lane, we were happy with the campsite which we found very peaceful. We had a hardstanding pitch with ample space for our awning, and found the facilities very clean. Coleford itself was worth a walk into via the footpath at the edge of the site, and in the four days we were staying there we visited Symonds Yat Rock, Goodrich Castle, Ross-on-Wye, St Briavels, Tintern Abbey and the Devil's Pulpit, Lydney Harbour and the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail, all no more than half an hour's drive away from Greenacres. All in all we really enjoyed our stay, and would certainly recommend Greenacres to anyone wishing to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

Nice site, good location.

Hodder, Mark - 07/05/2024

Came for five nights to explore the area on bicycles. Reception was closed when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon but a message was left on the door letting us know where to pitch up. Sadly the weather was not kind and after two days of rain we decided to move on but we got to cycle some trails which was the reason for our trip. The shower block was in good order, although there was no heating at all so it’s a bit cold when your drying yourself after the shower and the showers are poorly designed leaving no dry floor to stand on when getting dressed. Overall the site was pretty standard. No grey waste drains for motorhomes and the only tap for filling the motorhome water tank was positioned so you had to park blocking the only entrance on and off the site. All small issues outweighed by the good location.

Excellent site with easy access to the town of Coleford. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the site was clean and well kept. The toilet/shower block was spotless. Breakfast from reception was an added bonus. The area was lovely with some excellent walking for us and our dog. Will return - many thanks to the owners and staff.

Gladwin, Peter - 30/04/2024

Flat good size pitch. Very good washrooms, though we think showers would be better wall mounted.Location great for walking to Puzzlewood, Perrygrove and Symonds Yat. Small shop on site vey useful as it's a good walk into Coleford. Love the hot croissants in the morning from the shop/reception.Well placed for further exploration and cycling in the Forest of Dean. Birdsong amazing!Thank you

Good campsites

Bennett, John - 29/04/2024

Driveway up to campsite is steep and rough. Reception team are very helpful and friendly even though we were told that our booking had been cancelled. Most hardstanding pitches are sloping, I couldn't level my motorhome on 1 pitch with the levelling ramps. Toilets and showers are spotlessly clean, the only complaint is that the automatic lights keep going off when in the shower, luckily it wasn't dark when I was using the facilities.

Quick 2 night stay.

Hill, Stuart - 27/04/2024

It’s the third time I’ve used this site now. I play golf locally five minutes away each year and find this site very convenient. All the facilities are up-to-date and clean. A nice friendly shop and large plots to park my campervan on. Definitely be returning next year!
