Location was great. About a 15 min walk into the village, which had 2 dog friendly pubs. Site is well kept and the toilet/shower block and lively and clean.
Loved our stay at Donkey Creek. Lovely clean facilities, large level hard standing pitches fully serviced.Small shop in the reception area. Low flying aircraft landing at local airstrip great to see and hear. Walk into village takes 10 minutes where there are plenty of pubs serving food and you csn take dogs and with what I can only say have the friendliest of locals made us most welcome. Bus stop outside Memorial park. Bus timetables you can get from reception. Will return.
We booked donkey creek way in advance. However plans altered slightly at last minute so we were looking at arriving much later than plannned. We rang and this was no problem at all, spoke to a lovely lady who emailed the necessary information. It was easy to find, easy to check in and find the pitch. Pitches are well laid out, and a good size. We had full service with water and electricity. The facilities are great, lovely hot showers and spotlessly clean. The area is really quiet, so we had a great nights sleep. Set off again early so didn’t see much else.
Great site iron bath free showers washing up room . The village and just outside it has a great variety of choices an Indian carry out chippy hot roll shop newsagent 3 pubs doing food a restaurantsn off sales post office Greg’s costs Tesco express spar aldi Lidl mc Donald’s to wards Preston a hungry horse morrisons halfords. Buses to Preston and st Ann’s blackpool Fleetwood and clevees.
We had a very warm welcome from the reception staff, The site is laid out in 3 rows with plenty of space on each pitch. The facilities block is very clean with the dish wash room very warm. A 10 minute walk away is The Ship Inn which has lovely food and a good selection of beers and another 5 minutes finds you in Freckleton which has more pubs and coffee shop and an Italian. There is a good bus service to Blackpool which runs every 20 minutes or Preston in the other direction. For those who enjoy walking the Lancashire coast path is very close by.Overall, a lovely site which we hope to return to.
This appeared to be a perfect site and it mainly is but it is being let down by some care and attention issues. On arrival I visited the men's toilets and when I came to wash my hands I couldn't get any soap out of the soap dispenser. When using the toilet there was no toilet paper. These seem small details but with a site of this quality it is very noticeable.
Love Donkey Creek site. Large pitches with very well looked after area's. In the top 3 of all touring sites that we stay at and to top it off it is only 30 miles from home. Back at xmas..
This was our 2nd visit to Donkey Creek and definitely won't be our last. It was a last minute decision due to the poor weather leading up to it and so glad that we took the plunge as the weather was brilliant! As usual everything is spotless and the pitches are excellent with plenty of space. The location is also ideal for seeing the Fylde coast and further afield if you want to see the lake district or Liverpool etc.
Wonderful location and and pretty site. We picked it as we needed a site close to Preston as returning a rented campervan the next morning which worked perfectly. Really easy to book online and the staff on arrival were friendly and informative, a really good leaflet given with information about the site and local amenities. Facilities were modern and very clean as was the whole site. The only negative (and it is a personal preference) is lack of screening between plots. We would happily recommend this site.
