We have caravanned for over 35 years and Donkey Creek is one of the best sites we have ever been on. The staff are lovely, the site is so well run, hygiene standards are excellent. Fully serviced pitches make life very easy. Freckleton is a great location to jump on a bus and spend a day out in lots of different places. It’s also very interesting being next to runway, the noise of the jets does not bother us at all, in fact, we enjoy being able to watch the activity in the air. We can’t wait to go back again. Only small improvement we would say to make, is to let the shower run for maybe 15/20 seconds longer before having to press the button again.
Had a fabulous pitch by the amenities, I called the owner after hours as I thought we needed a code for the toilets, as the door was a little stiff, and no problem at all .... I will definitely be returning some time soon
This is our second time at donkey creek. The site is situated in a lovely quiet spot with the local village only a few minutes walk. Found the site extremely clean, facilities are great and staff very friendly. Will defo be returning.
Cleanliness facilities and amenities 5star.The ship inn does a lovely meal with comfy surroundings not far from the site.
Great site with large serviced, hardstanding pitches.Lovely heated shower block with piped music.I'd read reviews of some pitches being affected by noise from coaches arriving/departing early in the morning.I emailed the site and we were given a lovely quiet pitch. The only negative point was that the dog walking field was very boggy so nowhere to let our dog off lead.We just had to walk her along the road to the village (on lead)
Lovely place to stay with a park and field for the kids to play. Lovely and quiet eith everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break away.
Clean site plenty of room around the pitch and full support pitch is brilliant
Been here twice now and can,t wait until next timeSpotlessly clean and very friendly staff.Local pub restaurant and near to Lytham for a day out
One of the best sites I've been to. We had 3 pitches so our young family could join us. We were all allocated pitches together exactly where I asked for. Good shop on site but only a short walk from the village with a good butchers, pubs, ice cream shop and a cute cafe. You can get buses to Lytham or Blackpool from the village. Very spacious pitches. Bathroom facilities are 5 star, always clean. Play area was a bit muddy but it was early March and we had had lies of rain. Great park just in the village too. The approach Road has some big pot holes but take your time and you can avoid them. If you are there during week you may get treated to the Typhoon landing or taking off on runway next door. A really quiet site which isn't spoiled by the planes, more an interesting feature. I need to go back soon without the family so we appreciate the site in a different way.
Great site with level pitches. Ideal for plane spotters as BAe Systems airfield is just a stones throw away. Local village has numerous pubs, takeaways and a Tescos. Ideal for a visit to Lytham, St Annes and Blackpool as well as Preston.
